Transcripts

David Spoon:

And now for something completely different.

David Spoon:

Here's what's coming up this hour on Today's Experience.

David Spoon:

Expository Thursday.

David Spoon:

Expository Thursday Expository Thursday Expository Thursday.

David Spoon:

As we work together to know the letter better into the narrative of the Book of Colossians, we travel as we seek to understand what things the Lord requires of us and learn to apply God's timeless truths in our lives.

David Spoon:

First, we're going to be picking up in Colossians 1:17, but also backtracking to about verse 13.

David Spoon:

And we would do well to remember this.

David Spoon:

Colossians is the single most powerful epistle that demonstrates Christology or the study of Christ.

David Spoon:

You will hear me say that 30 times during these teachings with the most evidence of his divinity is in this epistle outside of the Gospels themselves.

David Spoon:

In the book of Revelation, he is before all things.

David Spoon:

He pretty much sums up all things.

David Spoon:

He is divine, and by him all things hold together.

David Spoon:

So that pretty much answers all questions everywhere.

David Spoon:

Next, Jesus is the head of the church, not a man, not even a group of men, not even the apostles.

David Spoon:

After the ascension, Jesus is the head of the church.

David Spoon:

Let me say that again so people understand that Jesus is the head of the church.

David Spoon:

There's no if, ands or buts about it.

David Spoon:

He's the beginning.

David Spoon:

So remember in the beginning, God.

David Spoon:

Don't forget that.

David Spoon:

Finally, here's one of the biggie, biggie biggies.

David Spoon:

In Jesus, all things are reconciled to God, whether they're things in heaven or things on earth.

David Spoon:

It's through Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ alone that the heavens and the earth find peace.

David Spoon:

What?

David Spoon:

You heard me.

David Spoon:

It is true that things in heaven and things on earth, it is through Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ alone that heaven and earth combined can find peace.

David Spoon:

A relationship that's active.

David Spoon:

And this takes place by the blood of Jesus Christ, which paves a way to connect heaven to earth.

David Spoon:

It's not feasible that you can have Jesus and not have everything you need.

David Spoon:

But it is feasible to have Jesus and not be open to everything he has in mind for you.

Welcome to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Local, national and heavenly talk.

David Spoon:

Here's what else we're looking at during the show?

David Spoon:

Lessons for surviving living and prevailing politics, entertainment and current events, personal revelations, spiritual observations, my life's insanities and wave so much more.

David Spoon:

Now, remember, it's not professional radio.

David Spoon:

It's just radio.

David Spoon:

And we're asking you, what do you think?

David Spoon:

So you can email us during the show.

David Spoon:

Davidmasincrease.org that's david.org you can text us.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or you can call us.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

You can give us a call.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Talking Jacob.

David Spoon:

That's the same feeling you get when you're being appreciated.

David Spoon:

Aw.

Jacob:

Thank you, David.

Jacob:

Happy Thursday.

David Spoon:

Happy Thursday to you, my friend.

David Spoon:

I want to point out to everybody that Jacob is doing an excellent, exceptionally good God, good job and have everybody make praying for him as he is doing.

David Spoon:

He is.

David Spoon:

You just really have emerged into your own, like, world, haven't you?

David Spoon:

Do you feel like you've grown in the last year?

Jacob:

Yes, I've definitely grown since I've started here.

Jacob:

I was, I remember the first show doing the board by myself.

Jacob:

I was pretty nervous, but I've come a long way in the past year.

David Spoon:

Yeah, I'm glad, and I'm very glad and very blessed that you have moved it along.

David Spoon:

So I want you to be aware that when you call, you can say hey and hello and thank you to Jam and Jacob.

David Spoon:

But please don't ask him to tell you his life story, starting with day one.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Because he's got to run the show.

David Spoon:

See how that works?

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Just making sure everybody gets that.

David Spoon:

All right, so here's the other thing I want to tell you.

David Spoon:

You're sitting there thinking, okay, well, what are those contact points for?

David Spoon:

It is simple.

David Spoon:

It's for you to share a praise report with your brothers and sisters in Christ, as JD Likes to say, the BIC Brothers in Christ.

David Spoon:

And so the idea behind this is to understand that it doesn't matter if you have different backgrounds.

David Spoon:

Stop it.

David Spoon:

I mean, at some point, there's got to be more maturity just functioning in our regular lives.

David Spoon:

If the Lord has blessed you, share it.

David Spoon:

It will bless other Christians and it will bless people who aren't Christians who are listening.

David Spoon:

And, yes, they're There we know.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Just letting you know so you can also share that as something that the Lord said.

David Spoon:

Maybe you've got a prayer request.

David Spoon:

You got something you just really like.

David Spoon:

Man, oh man, oh man, oh man, oh man, oh man.

David Spoon:

I just really need this.

David Spoon:

I need to get an answer in this.

David Spoon:

Cool.

David Spoon:

Let's pray.

David Spoon:

If any man lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without finding fault.

David Spoon:

James 1:5.

David Spoon:

He's not going to tear you apart to give you an answer.

David Spoon:

He'll give you an answer because he loves you.

David Spoon:

Might be thinking, that's cool.

David Spoon:

Maybe you got a scripture or something else you want to share.

David Spoon:

Maybe you're just feeling it and you're like, you know what?

David Spoon:

I'm Bible ready, man.

David Spoon:

I'm Bible ready.

David Spoon:

Are you Bible ready?

David Spoon:

Maybe you can answer this trivia question.

David Spoon:

The hour of prayer according to the temple was the ninth hour.

David Spoon:

True or false?

David Spoon:

Acts, chapter three, verse one.

David Spoon:

The hour of prayer in the temple, that was considered the ninth hour.

David Spoon:

True or false.

David Spoon:

Acts, chapter three, verse one.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

The time considered the hour of prayer at the temple was the ninth hour.

David Spoon:

Acts, chapter three, verse one.

David Spoon:

If you think, you know, it's just that simple, we'll leave it there.

David Spoon:

So there's a lot of things that I do want to cover with you.

David Spoon:

We're going to be jumping into the book of Colossians in just a second.

David Spoon:

I'm actually going to be backing it up a little bit because there's a couple of things I didn't get to last week that I really want to.

David Spoon:

And we'll probably take a little more time going through this.

David Spoon:

I also want you to know that introduction that I read from Colossians, just so you can know this ahead of time.

David Spoon:

I'm telling you.

David Spoon:

So you know, okay, I'm going to use that same introduction a couple of times.

David Spoon:

And you're thinking, why would you use that introduction a couple of times?

David Spoon:

Because the way Colossians is written, it's applicable a couple of different times.

David Spoon:

Isn't that cool?

David Spoon:

A little less work for me.

David Spoon:

That's okay.

David Spoon:

I don't mind.

David Spoon:

I'm Just saying.

David Spoon:

Okay, got that.

David Spoon:

Okay, cool.

David Spoon:

All right, let's see.

David Spoon:

There's something else I wanted to tell you and now I forgot because I'm older.

David Spoon:

Don't forget.

David Spoon:

Oh, I got some prayer requests.

David Spoon:

Some people are, in fact, traveling like my brother.

David Spoon:

So please be in prayer for my brother.

David Spoon:

That would be kind of awesome.

David Spoon:

Okay, so the trivia question is, and this is according to Acts, chapter three.

David Spoon:

So I'm not.

David Spoon:

It's not according to anything else.

David Spoon:

All right, so I'm not making it up.

David Spoon:

It's Acts, chapter three.

David Spoon:

What hour of.

David Spoon:

In the temple, what hour was considered the hour of prayer?

David Spoon:

Which hour is that?

David Spoon:

That's the question.

David Spoon:

Okay, now keep in mind.

David Spoon:

Keep in mind, the ninth hour.

David Spoon:

I'm just going to help everybody real quickly.

David Spoon:

The first hour starts at 6am so the ninth hour would be 3pm People might want to double check those texts they just sent to me.

David Spoon:

Somebody is ready to answer the trivia question.

David Spoon:

So, in fact, let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

John:

Hello, David.

John:

This is John.

David Spoon:

Hi, John.

David Spoon:

How are you?

John:

Oh, I'm doing all right.

David Spoon:

Doing all right.

David Spoon:

Well, I mean, it's great to hear your voice.

David Spoon:

I love hearing your voice.

David Spoon:

I love it when you call in.

David Spoon:

You're a blessing.

John:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

I appreciate you very much, brother.

David Spoon:

All right, this is an interesting question because I'm saying, is it the ninth hour?

David Spoon:

That's the prayer time.

David Spoon:

So that would then the prayer time in the temple.

David Spoon:

And then therefore, if it is supposed to be the ninth hour, then that would be 3pm so the question is, is that true or false, that it's 3pm or the ninth hour as the time of prayer in the temple?

John:

That would be true.

David Spoon:

You are correct, Amanda, sir.

David Spoon:

That is right.

David Spoon:

Some people Forget that the first hour was considered 6am and so the ninth hour would then be 3pm and then the nights were broken up into.

David Spoon:

Actually, it was based on Roman time counting, but that was broken up in 12 hours, but in shifts.

David Spoon:

1, 2, 3, 4 and 1, 2, 3, 4, each being three hours.

David Spoon:

So then you would have 6 to 9, 9 to 12, 12 to 3, 3 to 6.

David Spoon:

That's how they broke it up back then.

John:

Oh, I didn't know that.

David Spoon:

Yeah, it's kind of a fascinating thing, isn't it?

David Spoon:

It's kind of interesting.

David Spoon:

How art thou, brother?

David Spoon:

How can we pray for you?

David Spoon:

What can we do to bless you?

John:

Oh, doing okay.

John:

Can't think of anything off the top of my head, but.

David Spoon:

But that's good.

David Spoon:

So I Mean, I want to pray that the Lord blesses you.

David Spoon:

How's your, how's the rest of the family?

David Spoon:

How's your children doing?

David Spoon:

How's everybody doing for the nola?

David Spoon:

I mean, are they moving forward?

John:

Yeah, they're getting away every once in a while and just put our older grandchild in a special school and he's joined that.

David Spoon:

Cool.

John:

And so the son's back to work and, you know, when they were at St.

John:

Jude's you know, of course he wasn't getting paid for that time.

John:

And so fortunately St.

John:

Jude doesn't charge anything for, you know, them staying there and the facility and provides food and, you know, so that really worked out.

John:

And so they're back home in Tampa area doing okay.

John:

You know, as far as I can tell, we don't really hear from him too often.

David Spoon:

Don't feel too bad about that, John, because I have my son and daughter in law that we moved out here initially for and I talked to my daughter in Covington, Tennessee as often, if not more than I talked to the other.

David Spoon:

It's just like they're only an hour away.

David Spoon:

It's like, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.

David Spoon:

Yeah, that's a part of it.

John:

I have to make a confession though.

David Spoon:

Sure.

John:

I had to look up that verse.

John:

You know, it's kind of like when I'm doing a crossword puzzle.

John:

I have to peek sometime to.

John:

To get the answer.

John:

I don't know if you do crossword puzzles.

David Spoon:

That is great.

John:

Some are brain twisters.

John:

And so I thought, well, I better just check this out.

John:

And so I'm glad you emphasized that was 3:00pm Central Standard Time.

David Spoon:

I guess.

David Spoon:

So the structure of Hebrew time and the structure of Roman time are not the same.

David Spoon:

And so it's just, it's interesting to see in the Gospels how it switches.

David Spoon:

It's really kind of funny how it does that.

David Spoon:

But technically the ninth hour is 3pm that was the hour of prayer.

David Spoon:

Which is funny because it's like, I don't know that I've ever really prayed at 3pm ever in my life, but I'm sure at some point doing something, driving or dodging something, I have.

David Spoon:

But outside of that, it's not really one of my time frames.

John:

Well, you know, actually that's the time I go into work.

David Spoon:

You might be praying just before you walk in then.

David Spoon:

Right, right.

John:

Boy, do I need it.

David Spoon:

Well, let me pray over you.

David Spoon:

I want to pray.

David Spoon:

The Lord bless you.

John:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Father come before you right now.

David Spoon:

I thank you for my brother John.

David Spoon:

He's a blessing And I pray that you would know that he's a blessing and that, Lord, we're blessed by him and we hope we're blessing him and he's blessing us.

David Spoon:

And that's how you've designed it.

David Spoon:

And we want you to give him just great favor, not just at work, but with the family and with everything he's doing.

David Spoon:

And Lord, bless him from heaven with your gracious presence and let him know when it happens this is just because you love him.

David Spoon:

Bless him in that special way and let them keep moving forward towards you.

David Spoon:

We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

David Spoon:

Amen and amen.

John:

Oh, amen for sure.

John:

That was a great prayer.

John:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

God bless you, brother.

David Spoon:

Love you and the Lord, man.

John:

Thanks.

John:

Keep on going now.

David Spoon:

All right, brother, I will.

John:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

John:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

All right, so let's do this.

David Spoon:

We'll do our DNA.

David Spoon:

Steve is.

David Spoon:

I love if you guys know Steve, when he calls in, he's like, no, no.

David Spoon:

It could be the first hour, should be a zero hour.

David Spoon:

That's not how the Jewish.

David Spoon:

Jewish people did it.

David Spoon:

But you can argue that DNA D is Draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

I don't know.

David Spoon:

I've checked this out a couple of times.

David Spoon:

The best that I can tell from daily is it's every day.

David Spoon:

That's the best I can tell.

David Spoon:

I could be wrong.

David Spoon:

And so every time I look it up, I keep getting the same thing.

David Spoon:

You look up at the dictionary and it says, dave, you've looked me up a hundred times.

David Spoon:

It's the same answer.

David Spoon:

It's every day.

David Spoon:

Draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because you need it.

David Spoon:

That's why.

David Spoon:

I'm not even going to say any different.

David Spoon:

You need it.

David Spoon:

You know, the Lord doesn't need it.

David Spoon:

You need it.

David Spoon:

He's thinking, but I'm drained.

David Spoon:

Then you need it even more.

David Spoon:

I'm tired.

David Spoon:

You need it even more.

David Spoon:

I'm frustrated, anxious.

David Spoon:

I'm unsure.

David Spoon:

I'm doubting you need it more, more, more.

David Spoon:

I'm happy you need it more.

David Spoon:

I'm grateful you need it more.

David Spoon:

You're not going to say one thing that's going to change that.

David Spoon:

Draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

It will benefit you.

David Spoon:

And never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

So I'm not sure if you guys know what's going on because it's not happening here quite the same in America, but it is happening in other places.

David Spoon:

People that are quoting scriptures in public formats in different countries are being thrown in jail, even in Wait, wait.

David Spoon:

Free speech areas.

David Spoon:

Oh, man.

David Spoon:

Oh, that's not good, right?

David Spoon:

You know what?

David Spoon:

They're still doing it.

David Spoon:

You want to know why?

David Spoon:

They're not ashamed of the word.

David Spoon:

Don't you ever be ashamed of the word?

David Spoon:

Jesus said, if you're ashamed of me and my words, I'll be ashamed of you when I return in glory.

David Spoon:

It's like, whoa, don't want that.

David Spoon:

Luke 9:26 D.

David Spoon:

Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

A.

David Spoon:

Always be ready.

Jacob:

To serve.

David Spoon:

To serve.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

And here's the deal on that.

David Spoon:

Just be ready.

David Spoon:

You never know.

David Spoon:

Maybe the Lord will have you do this, that, whatever.

David Spoon:

I don't know.

David Spoon:

Got in here, got the studio, got all the stuff together.

David Spoon:

My notes for the entire day have disappeared.

David Spoon:

Where did they go?

David Spoon:

Interesting question.

David Spoon:

I did not write them on flash paper, so I don't care.

David Spoon:

I want to be ready.

David Spoon:

And then the Lord will use me in any way.

David Spoon:

I'm just presenting myself.

David Spoon:

He'll do it.

David Spoon:

The big thing is that the Lord uses you if you are available and at the time you need to say something, do something, be something, function in some way, or accomplish something.

David Spoon:

It's the Holy Spirit in you that directs you.

David Spoon:

You don't run the ministry of God.

David Spoon:

You run along with the ministry of God.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

I just keep thinking of that one, Pastor.

David Spoon:

I love this thing.

David Spoon:

So he was on an airplane and talking to the Lord and why isn't this happening?

David Spoon:

Why isn't this happening?

David Spoon:

And the Lord said, well, I've seen your ministry.

David Spoon:

How would you like to see mine?

David Spoon:

Oh, that's so good.

David Spoon:

Oh, come on.

David Spoon:

I've seen your ministry.

David Spoon:

How would you like to see mine?

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

People are like, the Lord didn't say that.

David Spoon:

Oh, I think the Lord told him that.

David Spoon:

Because after that, a substantially significant ministry emerged with over 2,500 church plants through that.

David Spoon:

So I'm going to go, yeah, that probably was the Lord right there.

David Spoon:

By their fruits.

David Spoon:

All right, folks, we'll take a break and then come back.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break.

David Spoon:

We'll be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

The David Spoon experience.

David Spoon:

So in this position, I have the opportunity to interview people and have so for the last five years.

David Spoon:

From all across the range of Christianity, from authors and from actors and musicians, we are about to have an opportunity we've never had.

David Spoon:

On this show.

David Spoon:

We actually have Lee Strobel on the phone with us.

David Spoon:

It was 19 years ago, I believe this September 1st, where his book came out, the Case for Christ.

David Spoon:

If you're Jewish like I am, and then became a Christian, that was when you went, oy vey.

David Spoon:

This book was a life changer for many, and now it's a movie.

David Spoon:

Lee, are you there on the phone with us?

Lee Strobel:

I am, David.

Lee Strobel:

How you doing, my friend?

David Spoon:

I am doing fantastic.

David Spoon:

Thrilled to have you on the show.

David Spoon:

It's my privilege.

David Spoon:

I'm just.

David Spoon:

I just gotta start.

David Spoon:

I know they give you a list of questions just so you can know, Lee, I never use them.

David Spoon:

So good for you.

David Spoon:

It's like, come on, I want to tell you, we're brothers here in the Lord.

David Spoon:

Talk to me.

David Spoon:

First of all, you wrote this book, the Case for Christ.

David Spoon:

Let's first talk about the writing of the book and then we'll talk about that connection to the movie.

David Spoon:

Why did you write this book?

Lee Strobel:

Well, I didn't start out to do that.

Lee Strobel:

I mean, I was an atheist.

Lee Strobel:

My wife became a Christian.

Lee Strobel:

So in order to try to rescue her from this Christian cult, I decided to use my journalism training and legal training and disprove Christianity to show that the resurrection never really happened.

Lee Strobel:

Of course, I ended up coming to the opposite conclusion and ended up coming to faith.

Lee Strobel:

But I did this investigation for my own edification, for my own education, not because I want to write a book.

Lee Strobel:

And then it was actually later my wife said to me, hey, you ought to write a book about that.

Lee Strobel:

I really.

Lee Strobel:

She said, sure.

Lee Strobel:

So that's how the book came about.

David Spoon:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's K double amen.

David Spoon:

770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Your next trivia question.

David Spoon:

Now, you're going to have to be maybe a little bit more on top of it for this one.

David Spoon:

I think maybe perhaps the Apostle James wrote, is there any among you that are afflicted?

David Spoon:

Let him pray.

David Spoon:

Is there any Mary among you?

David Spoon:

Let him what?

David Spoon:

James 5:13.

David Spoon:

Is any among you afflicted?

David Spoon:

Let him pray.

David Spoon:

Is any merry?

David Spoon:

Let him.

David Spoon:

Ah, what?

David Spoon:

What is that answer?

David Spoon:

James 5:13, if you think you know, give us a hallah.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Al did get the pow pow.

David Spoon:

So I sorry, Al, I forgot to tell you that I usually tell him in text, but sometimes I want to tell him on the air because he gets a lot of pow pows too, him and Joy Ann also.

David Spoon:

And then a lot of other people do, like Jeff and James and different people.

David Spoon:

So I try to tell you guys when it's happening, okay.

David Spoon:

And when they come in the exact same time.

David Spoon:

I don't, I don't declare it.

David Spoon:

Okay, so your trivia question.

David Spoon:

The Apostle James wrote, is there any among you afflicted?

David Spoon:

Well, let him pray.

David Spoon:

Is there any Mary?

David Spoon:

Then let him.

David Spoon:

And then what?

David Spoon:

James 5:13, if you think you know, you can reach out to us.

David Spoon:

In the meantime, we're going to jump into Colossians.

David Spoon:

And I want to go back because the reason that I want to go back is because I didn't really hammer on this one point, and I really wish I did.

David Spoon:

And after I went through it, I was like, I should have really talked about that.

David Spoon:

And here's the point, and I want to make it very clear.

David Spoon:

Out of Colossians, chapter 1, verse 10, it says this so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way, bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might.

David Spoon:

What I didn't key in on, which I wanted to key in on, and I absolutely should have keyed in on, is that we're bearing fruit in every good work.

David Spoon:

Growing in the knowledge of God.

David Spoon:

Now, I am not a rocket scientist.

David Spoon:

I've already told you, my brother in law is.

David Spoon:

He's actually a genuine rocket scientist.

David Spoon:

He's been working with JPL for 25 years, I think a long time.

David Spoon:

Right here's the bottom line and I've only used that a couple times today.

David Spoon:

To grow in the knowledge of God means that we have to epigonosa grow by contact and by engagement with God.

David Spoon:

And where is the main source of the knowledge of God?

David Spoon:

I know it's that I was talking to my brother about this.

David Spoon:

You know, when we were younger and in church, right, you know, the pastor would say, we went to various churches.

David Spoon:

The pastor would say, spend time in your Bible and spend time praying.

David Spoon:

But they never told us why.

David Spoon:

They just said do it.

David Spoon:

And it's like, this is the why.

David Spoon:

Because when you spend time in the Word and you read the Bible in order to hear God, you will grow in your knowledge of God on not just who he is, but what he sounds like.

David Spoon:

And then if the Lord ever speaks to you because you're knowing what he sounds like, you'll know if it's him or not.

David Spoon:

That's what's so awesome about the Lord.

David Spoon:

He's given a book.

David Spoon:

Who wrote the book?

David Spoon:

The man wrote the book by partnership with the Holy Spirit.

David Spoon:

And as you read that book, you learn what the voice of God sounds like.

David Spoon:

And if the Holy Spirit ever directs you, you'll know because you know what he sounds like.

David Spoon:

And for people that say the Holy Spirit don't speak, you have not read the Bible.

David Spoon:

That's my only comment to that.

David Spoon:

I mean, you've literally, literally not read the Bible seven times.

David Spoon:

In the book of Revelation it says the Holy Spirit.

David Spoon:

Says, says, says, says, says, says, says.

David Spoon:

I mean, you just can't beat it.

David Spoon:

Romans 8:14, as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

David Spoon:

So you can't get away from that.

David Spoon:

And so in the reading of the Bible, the Holy Spirit wrote the Bible through mankind, in partnership from the verbal plenary process.

David Spoon:

The knowledge of God that you are trying to grow in, that's right in that book, right off the bat, then there's a knowledge that happens through your contact with God.

David Spoon:

As you spend time with God, as you spend time in his presence, as you listen and as you quiet and just meditate in front of him and with him, and then bring your deep, deep elements of your existence to Him.

David Spoon:

There's a whole nother element there of understanding and growing in your knowledge of God.

David Spoon:

And it's like all these things.

David Spoon:

I mean, the thing that will help us the most, we've said it a hundred times, is more of God.

David Spoon:

It's more of God's presence.

David Spoon:

It's knowing God more, It's connecting to God more.

David Spoon:

It's being more thoughtful of God, being more verbal for God.

David Spoon:

And with God, that's when he takes a genuine residency.

David Spoon:

Jesus wants us to understand that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who are never disconnected, that relationship is your lifeline.

David Spoon:

And then he says this in verse 11.

David Spoon:

Being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might.

David Spoon:

I don't know how much strength and power does God have?

David Spoon:

Because that's what we're supposed to be strengthened by.

David Spoon:

There was a reason that God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but instead of power, love, and a sound mind, we have those things.

David Spoon:

I mean, what's awesome about the Lord is we have that in Him.

David Spoon:

It says that you may be.

David Spoon:

Listen to this.

David Spoon:

Being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might, that you may have the full endurance and patience.

David Spoon:

You ought to be able to put up with things more aptly, more succinctly, more effectively.

David Spoon:

Being able to endure things and put up with things and be patient for things will then grow in your knowledge of God so that you can be strengthened with the power that comes according to his glorious might, and that will enable you to endure more.

David Spoon:

And then, of course, it says this, which gets very little play, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father.

David Spoon:

You know what that means?

David Spoon:

Wait, wait.

David Spoon:

That doesn't mean thank you, Lord, for everything.

David Spoon:

I'm supposed to give thanks for everything.

David Spoon:

Thanks a lot for this.

David Spoon:

Thanks a lot.

David Spoon:

Just really.

David Spoon:

Hey, Eeyore.

David Spoon:

My name is Eeyore.

David Spoon:

It's my birthday.

David Spoon:

You're supposed to joyfully give thanks.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because some people give thanks without joy behind it, without gratefulness.

David Spoon:

It's almost like a begrudging.

David Spoon:

Well, it says we're supposed to be thankful and everything.

David Spoon:

So thanks.

David Spoon:

That's the wrong thanks.

David Spoon:

The right thanks is the.

David Spoon:

Yes, Lord.

David Spoon:

Thank you, Lord.

David Spoon:

I don't understand it all, but you've proven yourself every single time, not just faithful, but gracious to me.

David Spoon:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

That.

David Spoon:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

Get it?

David Spoon:

Okay, cool.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Apostle James wrote, is any among you afflicted, let him pray is any merry, Let him sing psalms, sing praises, sing songs of praise.

David Spoon:

All of that.

David Spoon:

Isn't that funny because we just ended on that be thankful note.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

Didn't plan that.

David Spoon:

Couldn't have planned it if I tried.

David Spoon:

Just worked out that way.

David Spoon:

Cool.

David Spoon:

I like it.

David Spoon:

All right, we'll take our break and then come back.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break.

David Spoon:

We'll be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

David Spoon:

What is the David Spoon Experience?

David Spoon:

Ladies and gentlemen, it's been my privilege in my past.

David Spoon:

I've been a Christian for a short time, only about 40 years.

David Spoon:

But when I was in my first year, I had a chance to meet James Robeson, who had a chance to pray for my brother and myself.

David Spoon:

Very helpful at a very needful time as we were fighting our way out of a Christian culture.

David Spoon:

And he prayed for clarity.

David Spoon:

And it was just a pastor's gathering in Phoenix, Arizona.

David Spoon:

And I have the privilege again of interviewing one of what I consider to be one of the great men of God who are still with us on this planet.

David Spoon:

And I just want to give a wholeheartedly welcome and open door, an open heart to James Robeson.

David Spoon:

Thank you, sir, for being a part of our show and a part of our audience.

James Robeson:

David, it's a pleasure join with you and I'm grateful that praying together was meaningful to you at a very important point in your life.

James Robeson:

So just joy to be with you and your listeners.

James Robeson:

Now, David, can I just download what I believe is the heart of our heavenly Father to your listeners for a few minutes?

David Spoon:

Yes, please, by all means.

James Robeson:

When I spoke to the leaders before the election and I talked about the need, this is in Washington.

James Robeson:

There were nearly 2,000 pastors and church leaders there.

James Robeson:

And I said, I'm telling you, there are people right now who are being captivated by the Jesus they see in some of our lives.

James Robeson:

And I said, listen to me.

James Robeson:

We have a fatherless nation desperately in need of a father.

James Robeson:

If we as believers, as Christians, who have the perfect father, if we would show people clearly what the family of the perfect father looks like, I believe the fatherless would run to the father and the father's house.

James Robeson:

And I believe that I said that to the president of the United States.

James Robeson:

I said, sir, your children say you're a good father.

James Robeson:

Eric Trump happened to be sitting by me when I first said that.

James Robeson:

Eric said, he's a great father.

James Robeson:

I said, well, he may be, but that doesn't mean he's flawless.

James Robeson:

I do believe that we need a father.

James Robeson:

And I believe we can pray and God can raise up people that have a father's heart.

James Robeson:

And so I began to emphasize the church, revealing what the father's like.

James Robeson:

Now listen to me.

James Robeson:

We as believers comprise the body of Christ, the body of born again, baptized into Christ, believers who are born from above.

James Robeson:

We have a perfect heavenly father who reveals his will.

James Robeson:

He's not willing that any should perish.

James Robeson:

He said, you call on me and I'll heal your land.

James Robeson:

Now listen to me, Christian believers.

James Robeson:

We're not looking for a champion.

James Robeson:

We've got one.

James Robeson:

He's the only one that rides the white horse.

James Robeson:

We're not looking for a king.

James Robeson:

We have a king.

James Robeson:

The king of kings, the Lord of lords.

James Robeson:

That's Jesus.

James Robeson:

He holds kings in his hand.

James Robeson:

Our king, our shepherd, our father said, come to me as my family, and you ask me to heal your land.

James Robeson:

In desperate need of healing, you come in humility.

James Robeson:

You come knowing I'm the only one that can heal and I can use imperfect vessels to accomplish my perfect will.

James Robeson:

I always have.

James Robeson:

I always will.

John:

On Christ the solid broadcast.

David Spoon:

Oh, welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the true station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's K double amen.

David Spoon:

770, the truth station here in Texas, getting ready for your next trivia question.

d Spoon's Experience Narrator:

Ooh.

David Spoon:

So always our fourth out of five is always the toughest.

David Spoon:

I'm just telling you.

David Spoon:

In Romans, Paul wrote, brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they what?

David Spoon:

Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they what?

David Spoon:

Romans 10:1.

David Spoon:

Nice job, Jeff, on that one.

David Spoon:

Nailing down the pow pow.

David Spoon:

You guys are on it today.

David Spoon:

All right, so listen to what I'm saying.

David Spoon:

In Romans, Paul wrote, brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they.

David Spoon:

Romans, chapter 10, verse 1.

David Spoon:

If you think you know:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or send an email david must increase.org.

David Spoon:

so what we always do here, at least I try to, is to send you out to the website, because on the website is.

David Spoon:

Wait a minute.

David Spoon:

I just want to point this out.

David Spoon:

or:

David Spoon:

That's a lot of podcasts.

David Spoon:

Nobody expects you to listen to all that.

David Spoon:

But there are really cool audios and really cool videos.

David Spoon:

There's awesome articles, there's goofy links.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

I linked to the Babylon Bee.

David Spoon:

I got no problem with any website that says we had an election and everybody figured it out.

David Spoon:

Jesus is still the king of the universe.

David Spoon:

Gotta love it.

David Spoon:

So it's a comedic site that's satirical.

David Spoon:

I happen to enjoy it.

David Spoon:

I think some of their stuff's funny.

David Spoon:

You don't have to look at it.

David Spoon:

But there's that.

David Spoon:

There's other videos, there's new stuff.

David Spoon:

Wait, new stuff up there?

David Spoon:

As well as there's the brochures, the business cards and the bumper stickers.

David Spoon:

Thanks to Rosalynn for putting together those.

David Spoon:

She did a great job.

David Spoon:

And so if you want any of those, we'll get them for you as well as there's a place we have.

David Spoon:

I have five different books.

David Spoon:

If you want any of them but you can't afford them, you tell us, we buy it and we send it to you.

David Spoon:

Just that simple.

David Spoon:

There's nothing else to it.

David Spoon:

We just want to get it out there.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

And all of that with a place to give.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because it's important.

David Spoon:

So you can give online at the site I'm going to send you.

David Spoon:

You can also send a check to the station you just got to make it to.

David Spoon:

He must increase praise report.

David Spoon:

He must increase.org looking to give to this ministry.

David Spoon:

He must increase.org confused by what's happening right now.

David Spoon:

He must increase.org he must increase.org as a duly designated representative of the city, I order you to cease any and all supernatural activity and return forthwith to your place of origin or to the nearest convenient parallel dimension.

David Spoon:

See, the line I like about that one is the parallel dimension.

David Spoon:

Or go back to your parallel dimension.

David Spoon:

All right, somebody is ready to answer a trivia question.

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

David Spoon:

Hello?

David Spoon:

Hello?

Samson:

This is a parallel dimension.

David Spoon:

You've been in a parallel dimension for a little while, huh?

David Spoon:

That's great.

David Spoon:

How are you?

Samson:

I'm okay.

David Spoon:

You're okay?

David Spoon:

All right, let's do the trivia and then we'll go from there.

David Spoon:

In Romans, Paul wrote, brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they.

David Spoon:

What they might Be saved.

David Spoon:

Correct Amundo.

David Spoon:

That is correct, Amundo.

David Spoon:

Asundo.

David Spoon:

So how art thou?

David Spoon:

You know, I was praying for you the other day.

David Spoon:

Just the other day I was praying for you.

David Spoon:

And I just got the impression while I was praying for you that the Lord was like, you know, there's a lot of the emotions are really like pushing against you really hard.

David Spoon:

And that's a big key in some of the fight is that the emotions are really pushing against you hard and the enemy is trying to use it against you.

David Spoon:

And you need to stand firm against that.

David Spoon:

So I don't know if that's true or not, but it seemed like there had some application.

David Spoon:

So I thought I'd just share that with you before we pray for you.

David Spoon:

Okay.

Samson:

No, that's very true.

David Spoon:

It's almost like the enemy's.

David Spoon:

See, it's not that feelings or emotions are wrong ever.

David Spoon:

That's not the issue.

David Spoon:

The issue is if they lead.

David Spoon:

It's not if they're there, but if they lead.

David Spoon:

And when they lead, there's just a distortion that takes place.

David Spoon:

That's why truth has to be the first on the train.

David Spoon:

Then love, because even love is redefined by the world, is defined by the world incorrectly.

David Spoon:

And then your feelings and so on and so forth, you know I'm saying.

David Spoon:

So it's like, well, that's interesting, right?

David Spoon:

I always find that fascinating because I need to do that all the time.

David Spoon:

So is that, is that along the lines a good thing to pray for you?

Samson:

Yes.

Samson:

But along with that, just pray for some physical healing.

Samson:

For me, feeling little under the weather.

Samson:

And also my brother is also having some stomach upset issue.

Samson:

And my father in law just had a knee replacement surgery.

Samson:

So just pray for us.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

Let me pray for everybody.

David Spoon:

Father, we come before you right now, we lift up Samson to you.

David Spoon:

And Lord, I just want to use to start with what I kind of got the impression you shared with me.

David Spoon:

And I just pray that Samson, in going through his processes, would be aware of the enemy taking advantage of those feelings to taking him too far over to the left or right.

David Spoon:

And that you would give him a central base of truth to stand firm.

David Spoon:

But his family also needs healing, Lord, and they need healing in their physical bodies.

David Spoon:

His brother himself, his father in law, everybody connected is just going through tough times.

David Spoon:

It's a very tough season in their family.

David Spoon:

But that doesn't mean that you have abandoned them.

David Spoon:

That doesn't mean you're not near them.

David Spoon:

And in fact it does require all of them to get a greater, stronger More diligent, focus on you so that they can keep the perspective going and keep the comfort going and keep the grace and mercy flowing.

David Spoon:

They need help, but they need your help, not anybody else's.

David Spoon:

They need the peace that passes understanding to keep them all.

David Spoon:

Bring your healing power because you are Jehovah, Rapha.

David Spoon:

Bring your healing power because it's by the power of your spirit.

David Spoon:

Bring your healing power because it's in Jesus Christ and his stripes that we are healed and that's what we pray for, that you would touch them that way.

David Spoon:

We pray that in Jesus name amen and amen.

Samson:

Amen.

Samson:

While you were praying, there's something else also came to my mind.

Samson:

Two of my brother in laws, like, I know they know the Lord, but they are not walking with the Lord for a while.

Samson:

And also they are going through some really physical illness.

Samson:

Like one, I think the initial diagnosis is that he might have a kidney cancer.

Samson:

So yeah, he is pretty bumped.

Samson:

And the other is having some gut issues.

Samson:

So just pray that.

James Robeson:

They will find.

Samson:

Jesus in the middle of all this chaos.

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

You got it, brother.

David Spoon:

And we'll have the audience pray as well.

Samson:

Yeah.

Samson:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

You're welcome.

David Spoon:

God bless you, bro.

Samson:

God bless you too.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

All right, all right.

David Spoon:

Into the text we jump.

David Spoon:

Because I cannot miss this next portion.

David Spoon:

I just picked it up at verse 12.

David Spoon:

We're saying joyfully giving thanks to the Father.

David Spoon:

Again, that is not giving thanks to God grudgingly.

David Spoon:

I just want to make sure Everybody understands that first.

David Spoon:

Thessalonians 5, 18.

David Spoon:

In everything.

David Spoon:

Okay, watch.

David Spoon:

In everything.

David Spoon:

It's kind of like the everyday daily thing.

David Spoon:

In everything, give thanks.

David Spoon:

For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

David Spoon:

You're looking for God's will?

David Spoon:

Well, there is a specific will and a general will.

David Spoon:

The general will is right there.

David Spoon:

You be in the will of God.

David Spoon:

You want God to give you your specifics?

David Spoon:

You better operate in your generals, so to speak.

David Spoon:

And so the idea behind that is to be thankful for everything.

David Spoon:

But then this text says, joyfully, joyfully give thanks to the Father.

David Spoon:

Listen to this.

David Spoon:

Why would you joyfully give thanks to the Father?

David Spoon:

Because past everything else, you tell me.

David Spoon:

I'm going to tell you this.

David Spoon:

The rest of the verse says, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light?

David Spoon:

Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, Wait a minute.

David Spoon:

Stop.

David Spoon:

The reason that you can joyfully give thanks to the Father is because God has, through Jesus Christ, qualified you to share in the eternal Inheritance of the saints.

David Spoon:

Let's please understand what this is saying.

David Spoon:

This has got nothing to do with eschatology in the way things will break down.

David Spoon:

This has to do with the forever, with the Lord and the people of God, in the presence of God, doing all the great things God has in mind and he has qualified you.

David Spoon:

So for those that are trying to figure out, well, what does that kind of mean?

David Spoon:

Have you ever applied for a loan and they approved it?

David Spoon:

That means you qualified.

David Spoon:

Or a house and they approved you.

David Spoon:

Qualified.

David Spoon:

A credit card, a card or this, that, whatever.

David Spoon:

Have you ever applied for anything?

David Spoon:

A college, this college, anything?

David Spoon:

And they approved it.

David Spoon:

And they approved it.

David Spoon:

And they approved it.

David Spoon:

God the Father has qualified you.

David Spoon:

He's made you qualified.

David Spoon:

That means accepted, past acknowledged in qualified for my position of dogcatcher, but you qualified.

David Spoon:

You're missing the idea here.

David Spoon:

You have to qualify for it.

David Spoon:

And so the idea behind this is that God qualified you through Jesus Christ so that you can be a part of the eternal inheritance of the saints.

David Spoon:

What?

David Spoon:

That's how you can joyfully give thanks to the Father.

David Spoon:

Dad, I don't know what's going to happen today.

David Spoon:

And some of it may be good or some of it may be bad.

David Spoon:

I don't know.

David Spoon:

I'm not that smart.

David Spoon:

But one thing I want to do is say thank you because you qualified me to spend eternity enjoying the inheritance of your saints.

David Spoon:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

That's what it means.

David Spoon:

Everybody got.

David Spoon:

I just want to make sure everybody get that.

David Spoon:

That's what it means.

David Spoon:

God made you qualified.

David Spoon:

Qualified through Jesus Christ to share in the glory that's coming.

David Spoon:

To share in the eternal glory.

David Spoon:

That's.

David Spoon:

You didn't qualify yourself.

David Spoon:

God qualified you.

David Spoon:

Oh, baby, that is a reason to joyfully give thanks.

David Spoon:

We'll take a short break and then come back.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the true station here in Texas.

No, I don't think so.

Unknown Caller (E):

And those big ears really don't help him.

Unknown Caller (E):

But would they enjoy his perspective on life, culture, politics, food, sports, local and national news?

Unknown Caller (E):

I don't know.

Unknown Caller (E):

I guess people will have to listen to find out.

David Spoon:

Job, I want to read job 3:25.

David Spoon:

I don't want anybody look at.

David Spoon:

I know that the teachings in the church and being a Baptist, somebody who's got a Baptist ordination, a Pentecostal ordination, somebody who understands what chalmen means, understands what the manifold millennialist is.

David Spoon:

I get it.

David Spoon:

I really do.

David Spoon:

I've been around for a little while.

David Spoon:

I just.

David Spoon:

When you're hearing scripture, you don't have to put all the scriptures you hear in certain boxes so they fit your motif of a theology.

David Spoon:

Sometimes you can just look at it and observe it and go right for it and review it.

David Spoon:

And Job, chapter 3, verse 25.

David Spoon:

One of the things that Job said is what I feared has come upon me, what I dreaded has happened to me.

David Spoon:

There's a whole teaching on.

David Spoon:

It's because your confession wasn't good.

David Spoon:

I don't think that had anything to do with it.

David Spoon:

I think God was bragging about Job to Satan.

David Spoon:

Job didn't know that was going on.

David Spoon:

That's obvious.

David Spoon:

But there he is.

David Spoon:

God's bragging about him.

David Spoon:

And what Job is like going is like, this is the worst thing that I could think of.

David Spoon:

And that happens to people.

David Spoon:

Believers, good believers, great believers, fantastic believers, lousy believers, believers and everybody else.

David Spoon:

It's something that takes place.

David Spoon:

Sometimes bad things come about in the process.

David Spoon:

That doesn't mean that God hates you.

David Spoon:

That doesn't.

David Spoon:

First of all, the world has rebelled against God and lies in wickedness.

David Spoon:

So it's not God's fault that the world said, we'll run this planet without you.

David Spoon:

We'll let you know.

David Spoon:

I mean, that's not God's fault.

David Spoon:

He's not the one that did that.

David Spoon:

People did that.

David Spoon:

And so the idea that understands is sometimes these tough things happen.

David Spoon:

The great thing to know is that God has not left and went to Pluto while you're going through these things.

David Spoon:

In this particular case, in Job, it was completely the opposite of what Job thought, because God was bragging about him.

David Spoon:

And Job thought he was in some kind of trouble or some kind of judgment.

David Spoon:

Hey, guess what?

David Spoon:

Job was wrong.

David Spoon:

Something else was going on altogether, which is often the case welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's K double amen.

David Spoon:

770, the Truth Station here in Texas, where we will be getting through this show.

David Spoon:

Even though I had no notes, that's not too shabby.

David Spoon:

Here's your last trivia question.

David Spoon:

The apostle James wrote, confess your faults to one another and pray for one another that you may be what?

David Spoon:

James 5:16.

David Spoon:

The apostle James wrote, confess your faults to one another and pray for one another that you may be What?

David Spoon:

James, chapter five, verse 16.

David Spoon:

If you think you know, reach out to us.

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

Or you can send an email.

David Spoon:

David.

David Spoon:

Must increase.org Joanne and Cordelia got the pow pow on that.

David Spoon:

The apostle James wrote, confess your faults to one another and pray for one another that you may be.

David Spoon:

What?

David Spoon:

What was that?

David Spoon:

James 5:16.

David Spoon:

If you think, you know, we will do a very, very brief history and then finish off on the teaching.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Today is operating room Nurse Day, which is like, I feel, you know, we watch some of the shows where they show the nurses and the doctors.

David Spoon:

I think that the doctors would not have a chance without the help of the nurses.

David Spoon:

That's just my take on it.

David Spoon:

I know they get.

David Spoon:

The doctors get the glory.

David Spoon:

It just couldn't happen without the nurses.

Jacob:

Nurses need the credit, too.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

I mean, they should get credit, too.

David Spoon:

Additionally, it's National Pickle Day.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

I like pickles now.

David Spoon:

Do you like pickles?

Jacob:

Yeah.

Jacob:

Yeah, I like pickles.

David Spoon:

Being Jewish, you don't have a choice.

David Spoon:

Every sandwich comes with a pickle.

David Spoon:

Just so you can know.

David Spoon:

Usually a kosher dill.

Jacob:

Do you like.

Jacob:

Because I'm sure you like pickles, like on your burger and different things like that.

Jacob:

But do you like just eating a pickle?

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

Yeah, that's a problem.

David Spoon:

Pickle.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

See, here's something that I do.

David Spoon:

This is terrible.

David Spoon:

Don't do this.

David Spoon:

Don't do the example.

David Spoon:

I'm gonna tell you that I do.

David Spoon:

So you know those sweet pickles, Those little sweet pickles?

David Spoon:

Sometimes I would take a slice, a very thin slice of ham.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

I'm Jewish.

David Spoon:

I love ham.

David Spoon:

And I put the sweet pickle in it, and then I roll it up and eat it together.

David Spoon:

Isn't that weird?

David Spoon:

I like it.

David Spoon:

I don't know.

Jacob:

Do you like fried pickles?

David Spoon:

Deep fried.

David Spoon:

Deep fried anything works for me.

Jacob:

What about rel?

David Spoon:

Love relish.

David Spoon:

Love relish.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right, so there's pickle Day.

David Spoon:

That's operating room Nurse Day.

David Spoon:

And then for those that don't know, I'm just gonna do these real fast.

David Spoon:

1889 was the first time that somebody went around the world in 80 days.

David Spoon:

From the Jules Verne novel.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

And somebody did that.

David Spoon:

Nelly Bly did it with eight days to spare.

David Spoon:

So she actually did it in 72 days.

David Spoon:

1910.

David Spoon:

On this day, the first airplane to take off a ship's deck took place.

David Spoon:

And in:

David Spoon:

All history today having to do with flight.

David Spoon:

Interesting, right?

Jacob:

And someone else also went around the world.

Jacob:

His name was Forrest Gump.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

Life is like a box.

David Spoon:

All right, anyway, so here we go.

David Spoon:

Here's your trivia question.

David Spoon:

I gotta teach the rest of this.

David Spoon:

I gotta do it really fast.

David Spoon:

Apostle James wrote, confess your faults to one another.

David Spoon:

Pray for one another, that you may be James 5:16.

David Spoon:

I am not texting anybody for sure today till after four because I have something I have to do right away.

David Spoon:

Let me just finish up on this one thing and I'll probably revisit this next week because of how important it is.

David Spoon:

Verse 12 of this text.

David Spoon:

Actually, this is verse 13.

David Spoon:

I wonder why it says verse 12 on my Bible copy has the wrong thing.

David Spoon:

That's hilarious.

David Spoon:

I copy the Bible.

David Spoon:

They have the wrong verse there.

David Spoon:

Verse 13 says, he, referring to the Father, has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of his beloved Son.

David Spoon:

Let's just stop right there.

David Spoon:

You have been rescued from the dominion of darkness.

David Spoon:

For those that don't know what dominion is, it has to do with authority, power, control.

David Spoon:

And you were a slave to darkness, but now the Father has brought you into the kingdom of His Son, Jesus Christ, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

David Spoon:

You don't have forgiveness and sins by your good works, by your good looks, even by anything else that you can come up with.

David Spoon:

So I just want to make sure everybody's on the same page.

David Spoon:

You have redemption, which is the forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ.

David Spoon:

You are not getting in, in another direction or another way.

David Spoon:

Jesus said, I am the door, I am the gate, I am the way.

David Spoon:

And if you think you're getting into heaven because you've done something good, you're nuts.

David Spoon:

It's just like coming to my house.

David Spoon:

I tell you what door to go in.

David Spoon:

If I say come in the garage, you come in the garage.

David Spoon:

If I say come in the backyard, you come in the backyard.

David Spoon:

If I say go to the front door, you go to the front door.

David Spoon:

Well, heaven is God's home and Jesus is the door.

David Spoon:

You want to get to heaven, go in the door that he provided.

David Spoon:

That's it.

David Spoon:

He's freed us from the dominion of darkness.

David Spoon:

Because darkness doesn't own you.

David Spoon:

Yes, I know.

David Spoon:

Darkness challenges you.

David Spoon:

The Prince of Darkness challenges you.

David Spoon:

But you have been rescued from that.

David Spoon:

So you owe that kingdom nothing.

David Spoon:

And he's brought you into the kingdom of his Son, which gives you life.

David Spoon:

And in Jesus we have redemption.

David Spoon:

You think what's redemption?

David Spoon:

It tells you the forgiveness of sins, the payback from the debts, right?

David Spoon:

Think about that.

David Spoon:

This is all in Jesus Christ.

David Spoon:

Everything we have is in Jesus Christ.

David Spoon:

Stop trying to split everything up.

David Spoon:

You tell me that now that you are in the kingdom of your beloved Son, you're lacking.

David Spoon:

What are you crazy?

David Spoon:

Hey, crazy.

David Spoon:

He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness.

David Spoon:

You're free from that.

David Spoon:

He's brought us into the kingdom of his beloved Son.

David Spoon:

Hallelujah.

David Spoon:

And in Jesus we have redemption.

David Spoon:

The buyback factor, the forgiveness of sins.

David Spoon:

You know that sin you committed?

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

God's not keeping it.

David Spoon:

Why are you.

David Spoon:

God's not throwing it back in your face.

David Spoon:

Why are you letting Satan, the accuser of the brethren, throw it back in your face?

David Spoon:

Stop it.

David Spoon:

The apostle James wrote, confess your faults to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed.

David Spoon:

Very interesting that our faults and our sins are connected to healing.

David Spoon:

The forgiveness is there, but sometimes it leaves a little bit of mud on our system.

David Spoon:

All right, folks, we're done not Texting until after 4.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon experience.

David Spoon:

You have listened to and we're going to take a 22 and a half hour break then come back More Insanity with Spoonanity.

David Spoon:

God bless.

David Spoon:

Just as I am.

David Spoon:

He reached down and see me purchase my freedom at the cost of His Son.
