We kick off our mini episode this week with Mary Doyle Smith, physical therapist and master coach for Team in Training, a program that raises money to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Mary describes her work as a coach and some of the common misconceptions beginners have about the sport. She also gives tips for beginners so they can have a positive first race experience and provides guidance for how experienced athletes can welcome newbies to the sport.
