Speaker:

Welcome to the Art of Life Podcast.

Speaker:

I'm Kanika.

Speaker:

My purpose with this podcast is to share tips on how you can start

Speaker:

creating a better life simply by playing with your imagination.

Speaker:

You can heal past pain and traumas, and you can create the high vibration life

Speaker:

that you wanted simply by being in a kid's space and just playing a little bit.

Speaker:

So let's dive straight in.

Speaker:

We will talk about healing your past , the steps to letting go and moving forward.

Speaker:

This comes on the back of my meditation and art therapy class, healing

Speaker:

your past that I just finished.

Speaker:

While I was teaching my students, I of course do the work for myself as well.

Speaker:

And my own past life pattern has been that I give way too much, and I keep

Speaker:

on giving, especially if I feel a relationship is just not working out.

Speaker:

It could be with anybody, could be with a friend, could be a significant

Speaker:

relationship with a partner as well.

Speaker:

So I was working on this and I was working why I have this pattern.

Speaker:

And turns out that I actually do this because there's just a deep

Speaker:

fear of loneliness that I have.

Speaker:

As I was doing this class, healing Your Past, this was my opportunity

Speaker:

to work through this whole trauma around just feeling scared, being

Speaker:

alone, and because of that fear, just trying to keep giving and giving.

Speaker:

So as I did the class, I healed some pictures.

Speaker:

I looked at these patterns for myself, and I definitely came

Speaker:

out feeling a lot lighter.

Speaker:

Just before the class, I was feeling a lot heavier about some of the

Speaker:

stuff that had been coming up.

Speaker:

That's sort of a natural thing with all of these classes as well, I would

Speaker:

say the pictures, the emotions, they start coming to surface because your

Speaker:

body just is ready and it knows, okay, we are releasing and letting go.

Speaker:

And then we had the class, and then after the class I felt perfectly okay

Speaker:

and even the emotions that were happening and where I was feeling charged and

Speaker:

a little bit on the edge, a little emotional, all of that went away and

Speaker:

suddenly it was like, mm-hmm, I've got it.

Speaker:

It's all good.

Speaker:

So great.

Speaker:

Now one of the questions that I got from the student was around how

Speaker:

can meditation heal past trauma?

Speaker:

This was just before we started the class.

Speaker:

To answer that, well, basically everything is energy, right?

Speaker:

So whether it's about healing your past, that's energy.

Speaker:

Whether it is maybe just healing a relationship, looking at a relationship,

Speaker:

creating a relationship, creating a job, creating a business or even letting go

Speaker:

of a business that's not working for you.

Speaker:

Anything, any, any space, anything is energy.

Speaker:

What you essentially do in a meditation space is you just

Speaker:

separate yourself from that energy.

Speaker:

When you separate, that allows you to see the energy for what it

Speaker:

is, and then you can clean it out.

Speaker:

I give an example of like a balcony and a dance floor.

Speaker:

Imagine there's a dance floor at the ground level, and when you are right in

Speaker:

it, then you've got people around you.

Speaker:

You've got all of this noise, so much is happening, you don't really know what

Speaker:

is happening in the whole room, right?

Speaker:

When you are in a meditative state, you can actually be up on top at the balcony.

Speaker:

And from the balcony you can see everybody.

Speaker:

You can see the guy who's not really dancing well.

Speaker:

You can see somebody who's making like really cool moves.

Speaker:

You can see somewhere how maybe some people are having too much to drink.

Speaker:

You can see, you can see the DJ playing his music.

Speaker:

You can really see the whole scene.

Speaker:

But because you can see the whole scene and you are detached from it, you can make

Speaker:

your mind around what's not serving you.

Speaker:

You can just decide because it is your body, it is your space.

Speaker:

You can decide, well, maybe I wanna change the music here.

Speaker:

You could change the music if you felt that those people who were

Speaker:

on the dance floor and they were causing a little bit of a ruckus.

Speaker:

With alcohol, if you decide you can let them go, cause you are

Speaker:

on the balcony, it is your space.

Speaker:

And maybe let's say you make up your mind and you go, oh,

Speaker:

I don't want the dance floor.

Speaker:

Like it's way too noisy.

Speaker:

It's so many people, I don't want them.

Speaker:

You can decide to let it all go and suddenly you can have a very

Speaker:

nice quiet place for yourself.

Speaker:

That's probably a simpler way of explaining what meditation

Speaker:

does and how it separates you.

Speaker:

Healing your past is working in the same way as well in a meditation class.

Speaker:

In the meditation class, you are looking at why you have past trauma and then

Speaker:

again you are seeing all the dance that plays out, why the dance plays

Speaker:

out, how the people are there, what is the other energy that's coming.

Speaker:

Maybe there are some negative beliefs or there's some social conditioning, some

Speaker:

past programming, you just see all of that from a distance and then you decide

Speaker:

that, oh, this doesn't work for me.

Speaker:

When I talk about my own self , I was trying to work on this, pattern for

Speaker:

myself where I keep giving and keep giving because I'm so scared at letting go.

Speaker:

That's exactly what I looked at.

Speaker:

I looked at why was I scared at letting go and what was the scene

Speaker:

going on in the dance floor?

Speaker:

And it's relatively simple.

Speaker:

Like in the meditation class, it doesn't have to be technical.

Speaker:

It's not technical.

Speaker:

We are not solving anything.

Speaker:

It's just pretty simple tools.

Speaker:

The first tool I use is called the grounding tool.

Speaker:

And if you wanted to have access to it, there is a free grounding

Speaker:

ebook that I have written, so I will put link in the show notes.

Speaker:

Otherwise just go to artoflifecenter.com/grounding

Speaker:

and you can get your free copy that explains you how to ground.

Speaker:

What grounding does, in the dance floor, all that chaos, all the noise, all

Speaker:

the extra people that are making you feel maybe a little bit claustrophobic

Speaker:

and you're not liking being around them, it takes all of that away.

Speaker:

It takes away all the beliefs.

Speaker:

There'll be stuff that you will know.

Speaker:

There will be stuff that you don't even know.

Speaker:

Grounding is just so amazing.

Speaker:

It just takes everything that is not serving you and just works brilliantly.

Speaker:

So that's the first step.

Speaker:

That's what I did with my own pictures around the fear of

Speaker:

letting go of fear of being alone.

Speaker:

And then the next thing that we do is we fill in, because once you

Speaker:

have cleaned the space, then it is the time to create your space.

Speaker:

In the dance floor that looked really busy, looked very jam-packed,

Speaker:

and looked as if everybody was on top of each other, very noisy.

Speaker:

We let all of that go.

Speaker:

Then we created a nice zen space, peaceful place, and

Speaker:

decorated it the way you want it.

Speaker:

In my space, I brought in a lot more laughter.

Speaker:

It's just playing with energy.

Speaker:

It's sort of playing with imagination, it's visualization meditation.

Speaker:

You visualize that this is what's happening.

Speaker:

I put in some good sparkles of laughter giggles, peace amusement.

Speaker:

That's always my favorite, and I put in freedom and I put in a lot

Speaker:

of self-love and unconditional love.

Speaker:

It's such a simple exercise.

Speaker:

Essentially that's what happened in the art therapy meditation class.

Speaker:

And then as I came out of the class, I was like, oh boy, I've released and I just

Speaker:

feel so much better and I can feel the energy shifted for me as well and where.

Speaker:

There's a situation going on, and suddenly I was just absolutely neutral

Speaker:

and I didn't need to react around that.

Speaker:

So it's super amazing that all of this can just happen with a one hour

Speaker:

of an art therapy meditation session.

Speaker:

So, well, whether it's my class or whether it's another meditation class that you

Speaker:

were doing, I strongly encourage you to have an intention for your session.

Speaker:

Anything that you wanna work towards, just do that in your meditation

Speaker:

practice and then just see the results and notice them for yourself.

Speaker:

Cool.

Speaker:

All right, the next question is, why does the pain go away with the meditation?

Speaker:

How does it work?

Speaker:

I understand this question because logically we sort of know

Speaker:

that, oh, the fear is not right.

Speaker:

This is not what you have to do.

Speaker:

It's okay, but it's sort of hard to come out of it and again and again, at

Speaker:

least in my life, I was operating from the same fear again and again and again.

Speaker:

What's really happening in the energetic space or in the spiritual

Speaker:

space is that we have pictures in our body and in our aura layers.

Speaker:

Pictures is how we store our memories.

Speaker:

Pictures is how we store our experiences and also attract more.

Speaker:

Sometimes a picture will have a negative charge.

Speaker:

Sometimes it will have a positive charge, like when you had a really fun time.

Speaker:

Sometimes maybe there were lifetimes that I had where I had been orphaned,

Speaker:

where I was completely alone and I just had those pictures, and then

Speaker:

they're really, really charged.

Speaker:

They've got that negative charge.

Speaker:

They've got that pull where, you know, more experiences like

Speaker:

that keep coming because it is a very strong negative charge.

Speaker:

It just attracts more negative things to it, and then that's why

Speaker:

for me, the fear was very real.

Speaker:

But when I ground, when I release, the Earth, gives it positive energy.

Speaker:

It neutralizes that charge and suddenly the charge and that picture is gone.

Speaker:

Whatever negative things it was gonna attract, that's gone because the

Speaker:

picture has now been neutralized.

Speaker:

, In a sense it was just that your awareness was required.

Speaker:

You just needed to step on the balcony, watch the dance floor,

Speaker:

and then just ground the noise out.

Speaker:

Ground out the stuff that was not serving you, that was not working for you.

Speaker:

It's just as simple as that.

Speaker:

The meditation class, it's really simple and fun and playful as well.

Speaker:

It sounds kind of serious, right?

Speaker:

Healing your past or other topics as well that I do every month.

Speaker:

Sometimes they have a very serious tone to them, and then that's the fun bit

Speaker:

because although it's very serious and very icky stuff that you deal with,

Speaker:

the whole meditation space is playful.

Speaker:

It's fun, it's filled with laughter because you are bringing in the vibration

Speaker:

of a little child, and you are acting from that playful and curious place.

Speaker:

You're stepping in on the balcony.

Speaker:

You're not really feeling the emotions, so you're having fun.

Speaker:

You're playing with colors.

Speaker:

You are letting art and colors and textures guide you and help you heal.

Speaker:

You don't have to see everything.

Speaker:

You don't have to feel everything.

Speaker:

You step from the dance floor to the balcony and look down at it and then

Speaker:

go, okay, this is all that I need to clean, and it starts getting cleaned.

Speaker:

It's very beautiful and amazing that this is all that you need to do in your

Speaker:

visualization meditation to be able to take such a huge step in your life.

Speaker:

Like for me if I'd done it a few years ago, whoa my life

Speaker:

would have been so different.

Speaker:

The tools are absolutely amazing, what you can get with them, the personal growth

Speaker:

that you can have and how you can really heal your life and create experiences

Speaker:

that you like, all of that is amazing.

Speaker:

And all you need to do for that is step into a meditation class.

Speaker:

Even with one meditation class, you notice things.

Speaker:

You notice a shift.

Speaker:

Cool.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

Next question I was asked by another student as well, like I always shared a

Speaker:

lot of my stories and she wanted to know, well, can you share other examples of

Speaker:

other student stories as well, because it's really inspirational and she

Speaker:

wanted to see what happens with others.

Speaker:

I'll keep the privacy in there and I won't give any student names.

Speaker:

One of my students, as she was working through this, she recently got fired and

Speaker:

then right after that, on the weekend was this class around healing your past.

Speaker:

So she came in with that energy and carrying a lot of

Speaker:

baggage and feeling frustrated.

Speaker:

We did the class.

Speaker:

Then afterwards, I touched base with her.

Speaker:

She wrote to me and she said that what she realized in the class was that she

Speaker:

was feeling unworthy and she kept pushing.

Speaker:

That's what she saw in the class too, that that's what her pictures

Speaker:

told her when she was coloring that.

Speaker:

She just tried to keep pushing through.

Speaker:

There were pictures that she'd drawn of just hands, hands actually

Speaker:

pushing and that's what that picture or the sketching meant for her,

Speaker:

that she kept pushing through.

Speaker:

The class gave her awareness that she didn't need to push this hard.

Speaker:

She didn't need to push to belong.

Speaker:

She didn't need to push to feel worthy.

Speaker:

People who see her worth will realize that.

Speaker:

She was saying that the class helped her realize how even getting fired was a gift

Speaker:

that she could see that she wasn't really having a great time at her job anyway.

Speaker:

But she would keep going and then she would keep complaining about it to her

Speaker:

friends and partner, but she kept in it because that sort of seemed to be the way.

Speaker:

The firing was a gift because she did not need that abusive environment for herself.

Speaker:

And she definitely needed a place where she would be more loved.

Speaker:

So she came out with understanding about herself, understanding also why that

Speaker:

experience was there, and really with a lot of gratitude, which is such a gift.

Speaker:

On that there, there's lots of times where we think about an

Speaker:

experience, especially a traumatic experience, and we think, oh my God.

Speaker:

How can God do this to me?

Speaker:

Or how can the universe do this to me?

Speaker:

But I'd encourage you to ask a different question.

Speaker:

I encourage you to ask why is this happening with you?

Speaker:

And it's not in a negative way, but it's more like what is the lesson

Speaker:

that you need to learn from your past to be able to move forward?

Speaker:

Definitely in my own learning, in my own journey, I had to see why I

Speaker:

was having this pattern where I just kept giving, why I was doing it.

Speaker:

I had to see that pattern and then I could let it go.

Speaker:

And for the student as well, she had to realize that her pattern

Speaker:

was around unworthiness and pushing beyond that to feel worthy.

Speaker:

In that sense it is a gift because what your spirit is trying to show you, to

Speaker:

tell you is that, Hey, you know, you see this activity on the dance floor.

Speaker:

This is the pattern that you are doing.

Speaker:

Once you see it, it's almost your awareness and just your

Speaker:

looking that is asked for.

Speaker:

After that, it's just magical.

Speaker:

It goes away because that was all that your spirit needed to communicate.

Speaker:

You've done more than half the work at that stage, and then as you're

Speaker:

grounding, you can just let go.

Speaker:

That's such a great thing to be able to heal, to be able to move on

Speaker:

with your life, to be able to move forward, to be able to create a

Speaker:

life that you want, that you desire.

Speaker:

Cool.

Speaker:

So now for my dear listeners the question that I imagine you would be

Speaker:

asking as well, how can I heal my life?

Speaker:

There are a couple of ways for you to heal your own life.

Speaker:

First of all, I have this class healing your past.

Speaker:

It is available online to be downloaded right away.

Speaker:

You can access it, and that's an amazing way to understand patterns

Speaker:

in your own life and to see what you can do with that, clear that energy

Speaker:

out and take a massive step forward.

Speaker:

Your spirit definitely wants you to move forward.

Speaker:

That's why it's showing you those patterns and showing you that past conditioning.

Speaker:

So take that call and step in.

Speaker:

Play for a little while with some art therapy and meditation.

Speaker:

Play just an hour and then you can heal that pattern.

Speaker:

You can heal your life.

Speaker:

So that's one.

Speaker:

The other thing, I have this ebook called grounding.

Speaker:

Grounding is amazing.

Speaker:

I've talked so many times about it.

Speaker:

It is how you balance out the negative charge in your body with

Speaker:

the positive charge in the earth.

Speaker:

You balance out that negative and positive and you just really give a whole lot

Speaker:

of release and healing to your body.

Speaker:

You neutralize a lot of the pictures where you're carrying charges, where

Speaker:

you bring in those negative experiences.

Speaker:

Just by grounding, you achieve tremendous things.

Speaker:

I have a free ebook that you can download at Art of life center.com/grounding.

Speaker:

Then I have another meditation as well, and I'm offering this for free.

Speaker:

This meditation is art therapy meditation on forgiving yourself, and it is by far

Speaker:

one of the major meditations that I have experienced personally forgiving yourself.

Speaker:

For me, forgiving myself was really, really big.

Speaker:

I used to hold myself guilty for my daughter's passing because she

Speaker:

passed away as I was sleeping.

Speaker:

I was pregnant with her at the time, so I had massive guilt pictures

Speaker:

around how can you sleep like that and what sort of a mother am I,

Speaker:

you know, all the charged pictures.

Speaker:

But as I forgave myself, a lot of healing happened.

Speaker:

I could understand as well why that happened, why she decided to come into my

Speaker:

life and not decide to come into my life.

Speaker:

So meditation gave a lot of those answers as well.

Speaker:

So it is tremendously powerful.

Speaker:

If there's anything that you feel that you are holding yourself prisoner to, if

Speaker:

there is some past action, if there's a judgment, if there's any sort of guilt

Speaker:

or shame, I highly encourage you to download this class, this meditation

Speaker:

class on forgiving yourself because that could be your doorway to freedom.

Speaker:

It really freed up and healed me massively.

Speaker:

So I wanted to give that gift out to you.

Speaker:

You can find that class at artoflife center.com/meditation classes.

Speaker:

If you go there, you will find all of my meditation classes, all of my

Speaker:

art therapy and meditation classes.

Speaker:

I've kept the forgiving yourself for free because I know it'll be just such

Speaker:

a huge benefit to the whole world.

Speaker:

I really hope you enjoy it.

Speaker:

If you do download it, let me know how it works for you.

Speaker:

I hope you have some fun while healing yourself, forgiving yourself and

Speaker:

bringing a lot of freedom in your life.

Speaker:

So that's it for today.
