What is the Circle of Marketing Simplicity?

This special request from Pascal turned out to be an impromptu briefing from Roger, and a timely reminder about his 'Offer - Goal - Activity' model from his book 'Cats, Mats and Marketing Plans'.

I heard that as a speaker you need to have a signature talk, what is it and how do you create that signature talk?

This is the very question that a delegate asked Pascal at a recent conversation.

Roger and Pascal explore the meaning and definition of 'signature talk' and share their personal advice including whether you should be thinking in terms of 'signature segments'.

A look back at two ingenious marketing tactics used to โ€œStar Wars: The Empire Strikes Backโ€, the sequel that celebrated its 45 anniversary this year.

1. The teaser trailer for "The Empire Strikes Back" was filled with nostalgia, featuring Harrison Ford's voiceover in the style of 1950s radio serials and TV shows that inspired George Lucas.

2. The marketing team cleverly used rumours and misinformation in magazines to protect the film's biggest secret (you know which one!). They published an article in Starburst Magazine that mixed true plot points with false information, such as "Luke killing Han Solo" or "the Millennium Falcon getting zapped into a time warp."
