AT L.A.S.T. is a non-profit established to provide education, consultation, research, and clinical care related to the health and wellness of school districts, colleges/universities, professional sports, clinical settings, and other community based programs to address disparities taking place in underserved communities. This intro episode introduces the podcast arm of the non-profit and its founding members.

Why another podcast?
There is a disparity in our profession (Athletic Training/Sports Medicine) which is a microcosm of our society
male and female AA student athletes, made up 11% and 5% BOC data indicates 3.39% of ATCs are black as of June 2020
Raise our voices regarding our worldviews and perspectives in response to current events
Increasing cultural competency: awareness and behavior
Curate and disseminate information, data, regarding matters related to patient care and outcomes, specifically for black minority populations
Provide a platform for experts to speak on cultural diversity matters in sports medicine, particularly those of black/AA and other minority groups
Representation: Give Black communities, and subsequently other minority groups, exposure to athletic training and sports medicine professions and services by allowing them to hear from voices and see professionals who look like them and/or who they can identify with.
