This story is called The Social Media Maze.
Once, in a place at the edge of where the digital world and the real world met, there was a magical maze called The Scroll Maze. It was covered in beautiful lights and colors, and if you listened carefully, you could hear quiet voices promising visitors that there were endless treasures to be found inside. People from all around were drawn to it, including a curious 10-year-old named Aisha.
Aisha stood at the entrance of the maze, holding her enchanted tablet. “Just follow the glowing paths,” a friendly, digital bird named Chirp chirped from her screen. “And remember, the more you share, the more likes and stars you’ll collect!”
Excited, Aisha stepped into the maze. The first section was called Likeville. It was a dazzling wonderland of glowing paths lined with flowers that bloomed whenever she walked past. Butterflies made of light flitted around her, their wings spelling out words like “Amazing!” and “You’re awesome!”
“Wow!” Aisha exclaimed.
In the center of Likeville, there was a fountain shaped like a giant thumbs up. Every time someone shared a picture or a story, colorful stars and hearts burst from the fountain, floating into the air like confetti.
“Go ahead, share something!” Chirp encouraged. “and you’ll get lots of stars!”
Aisha pulled out her enchanted tablet and snapped a photo of herself standing next to a golden tree that sparkled with tiny diamond leaves. She tapped the “share” button, and immediately, stars and hearts erupted from the fountain. The butterflies cheered, and a banner appeared in the air, glowing with the words, “100 Likes!”
“This is so fun!” Aisha laughed. She wandered deeper into the maze, her tablet glowing brighter with each share. She came across other explorers, some juggling flaming torches, others showing off incredible dances. Everyone seemed happy, laughing and encouraging one another.
Then she reached a place called Inspiration Alley. Here, the walls lit up with pictures of kids doing amazing things—building robots, baking cakes, and helping their communities. Aisha felt a spark of excitement.
“I could share my story about winning the science fair!” She quickly typed her story and shared it, earning another burst of stars and cheers from the maze.
“You’re doing great!” Chirp said. “The maze loves it when you share your adventures!”
Aisha felt a warm glow inside. For a moment, she forgot all about the world outside the maze. She felt like a star, with everyone cheering for her.
Further along, Aisha found a cozy corner called Friendly Forest. Here, explorers could chat and trade stories. She made a new friend, a boy named Max, who told her jokes and shared funny pictures of his pet dragon.
“This maze is the best!” she exclaimed.
But as she moved on, shadows began to creep across the maze. The bright colors dimmed, and the music faded into whispers. Aisha didn’t realize it yet, but she was heading toward Mimic Market…
It was full of friendly-looking faces that seemed just like her friends from school. “Join our group! Tell us where you live, and we’ll add you to the coolest team near there!” they said.
But Chirp warned, “Not everyone here is who they appear to be. Some are imposters trying to trick you!” Aisha hesitated. “What do I do?”
“Stick to what’s safe,” Chirp advised. “Only connect with those you truly know and trust.” Nodding, Aisha cautiously avoided the eager faces and left the Mimic Market behind.
Finally, she reached the heart of the maze: The Mirror Hall. Here, shimmering mirrors reflected every single thing she had posted and shared. Some reflections were happy, but others showed embarrassing moments she didn’t want anyone to see.
“I didn’t know everyone could see that!” Aisha gasped.
“Once something’s shared in the maze,” Chirp said, “it’s hard to take it back. Be careful what you post—it’s not always easy to erase and it also even gets shared outside of the maze.”
The maze’s voices grew louder, making Aisha nervous. She took a deep breath and remembered something her parents had once told her: “Always use your privacy settings when you are online.”
She looked at her glowing tablet and tapped on the settings. She switched her profile to private, deleted the posts that made her feel uncomfortable, and vowed to be more careful.
As the mirrors dimmed, a faint golden path appeared on the floor. “This must be the way out!” Aisha said, her confidence growing. She followed the path, leading her to a shining door.
When she stepped through the door, she emerged into the bright sunlight. She had made it out, not by relying on anyone else, but by using her own courage and wisdom.
