Welcome back to the Marli Williams podcast.

Marli Williams [:

It is the 1st May. Welcome to May. Welcome to springtime. And the first of the month is always gonna be a solo episode from yours truly on something that has been on my heart, on my mind, something to support you. Imagine these are there's, like, mini pep talks for your heart, for your soul, for your spirit, for everything in between. So what I wanna share with you today is a question that I think I wrestle with at times that has been coming up for me. And that question is, how much am I willing to believe in myself? How much am I willing to believe in my big, bold, crazy dreams, my vision for the world that I wanna create, the vision that I have for, you know, the retreats, the programs, the things that I put out there into the world. And what I find to be true is it's really easy to believe in myself when everything is awesome and when things when I'm getting the results that I want to be getting, when things are happening in the timeline that I want them to be happening.

Marli Williams [:

And when they don't happen in that said timeline, it's really easy for me to get discouraged, get disappointed, get frustrated, get pissed off, get mad, get sad, get just really down on myself and ultimately really hard on myself. And I think that my work has been, how much can I believe in myself even when I don't feel like things are working out the way that they should be in the time frame that they should be, what then? Can I still believe in myself when it feels like it's hard or an uphill battle or it doesn't feel like it's working, and there's the story that I can get into? Right? Like, if things aren't flowing, if things aren't happening the way that I think that they should or they're supposed to, My go to story is I'm doing something wrong. I'm not doing something enough. I'm not taking enough action. My marketing is off. I'm not I'm not doing it enough. I'm not being consistent. I'm not sharing enough.

Marli Williams [:

I'm not talking about the value enough or whatever it is. It always comes back to this feeling of not enough. So thinking about this question for myself and for you, how much can I believe in myself no matter what? So not having the belief in ourselves be attached to the results we're getting or not getting. Right? That I can believe in myself no matter what. And the invitation is like, everything is a mirror and everything is an opportunity for learning and growth. And, oftentimes, there there's a quote that says, like, failure is just feedback. And it's not even necessarily failure. It can feel like failure.

Marli Williams [:

It can feel like, again, things not going the way that you plan, not going the way you expected, not going the way that you wanted them to. And we can either judge ourselves, be hard on ourselves, make ourselves wrong, blame, shame, should all over ourselves when that happens, or we can choose to get curious, reflect, get quiet, and ask questions of ourselves to ourselves of, like, what is this bringing up for me? And can I listen? Can I be patient? Can I be, again, curious? And one of the things that I love about curiosity is that curiosity is the antidote to judgment. Right? It's really easy to immediately go to judgment, judgment of other people, judgment of ourselves. And when we approach our life, our world with a sense of wonder and curiosity, it's like the opposite of judgment because we just say, Interesting. I'm noticing this thing is happening. I'm noticing that it's not happening as fast as I wanted to in the time that I think it should, whether that's filling a program or a retreat or finding a partner or getting the promotion, that we have this sense of, like, a certain timeline in our mind. And what I know to be true, I've I'm reading so many books right now on this. Like, I I can't tell you how many people have told me to read the book Think and Grow Rich, which was written by Napoleon Hill, like, in the early 19th century.

Marli Williams [:

Still, lots of truths to this day. He studied, like, the 500 most successful men at that time. Right? And so much of what that book says, every single book on manifesting your life and your dreams and your goals and all the things, can I believe it in order to see it? Oftentimes, people say, I'll believe it when I see it. And I think, really, this going back to this question of our podcast today is how much can I believe in myself, in my vision, in my dreams, and that I will see it when I believe it? Right? Can I embody this belief in myself of the vision that I have for the life that I wanna create, the impact I'm here to make from a no matter what place? And I love that one of the still quote says your success is inevitable. Whatever version of success whatever success looks like for you. Again, it's easy to believe that when things are working out. It's when we make up a story that we don't think that things are working out, and it's like, oh, I'm not cut out for this. There's no way I could do this.

Marli Williams [:

And that is it's almost like the universe testing our conviction of our vision. Can I believe in it no matter what? Can I trust the aligned divine timing? One of my favorite quotes is that that which you seek is seeking you. Right? If you are seeking a vision of a type of, again, something that you wanna create in the world, can I trust that that thing is already on its way to me? And I also get, you know, when I think about, well, what stops us? Stops me, stops you people from believing in themselves, from saying yes to themselves, believing in their big, crazy dreams. What stops us? One is I I think that we we let ourselves off the hook, and we stop wanting things when things don't work out because we are worried about getting hurt again, getting disappointed again, where we fear the failure, the illusion of failure. And so we start to settle in our lives of like, well, I think that this is as good as it's gonna get, as good as it's gonna be. That's one part. I think there's another part that's like, well, who the hell am I to want that? Whatever that thing is that you want. Right? And, again, making sure whatever version of success that you are moving towards is your version of success, your definition of success, not societies, not your parents, not your friends, not someone else's.

Marli Williams [:

But what does success look like for you? And how will you know when you've gotten there? Right? And so often, we're in this, like, giant rat race and chasing all of these things, the this illusion of this next thing. Once I get the promotion of the house, the job, the relationship, the clients, the money, then I'll be happy. Right? And so often for so many people, and this is what we're taught, this is what we're told, that our level of happiness is always on the other side of some sort of success. Once I graduate from college, get my master's, do this thing, then I'll be happy. And we all know people that have checked off all the boxes and are still miserable. You know that quote, like, wherever you go, there you are. Right? If you move states, if you move jobs, it's like, we're still having to deal with our own stuff. Right? And so I think that we let ourselves off the hook, and we think that we need to justify or rationalize our desires and the things that we want in our life.

Marli Williams [:

And I wanna give you permission right now in this moment that you get to want what you want just because you want it. Just because you want it. So what is something that you want in your life just because you want it? Not for fame, not for fortune, not for money, not for impact, just because there is a calling on your heart. Right? I wanna travel the world just because I want to. I wanna make this amount of money because I want to. I wanna create this retreat because I want to. Right? Or so you say, oh, I want this money for this or that. And it's like, can we let ourselves connect to our desire? And I think part of that and part of what stops people from this is connecting to a sense of worthiness in yourself that you are worthy of everything that you desire.

Marli Williams [:

And y'all, this is the work. This is the inner work of believing deeply in our hearts and ourselves and our souls and our vision, both when things are rocking, things are working out, and also when it's, again, the illusion that things aren't working out, but it's like, how is everything teaching you something? How is everything not in the way, but on the way? It's not in the way. It's on the way. We can either see the obstacle or we can see the lesson. We can see the learning. We can see the growth. I'm not saying this is always easy, especially when things aren't, you know, going the way that we want them to go. And can we cultivate this capacity in ourselves to receive everything that we desire and more.

Marli Williams [:

One of the things I love to do when I'm setting goals or doing visioning is I think it's really good to be specific. Again, like, the universe loves clarity. It loves clarity. And the universe doesn't see the words not and don't and the negative. Right? So if we tell our GPS, like, don't go to Portland, all it hears is Portland. So where is it that you're wanting to go? And are you willing to be clear this is how much money I want to make per month or per year or something better because people don't want to limit themselves. And I think we're often like scared of making a decision, making a declaration, making a choice, having conviction. That's believing in yourself.

Marli Williams [:

Like, can I believe that I will sell out this retreat no matter what? Literally today, as I'm recording this, 2 people have signed up for the retreat. But I have had to do so much work around reframing, filling this retreat. And I've had to do some shadow work. I look at my not enough story, and nobody loves me. Nobody wants to sign up. And why is this so hard? So I'm not saying that, like, I'm perfect at this. And as I've noticed my energy shifting to believing that this is in fact possible. And not only possible, it's inevitable.

Marli Williams [:

Like, it's gonna happen. And how can I show up from that place? Not from a place of desperation, like graspy, weird energy that comes from that's, like, not enough place. And when if when and if you sign up, then I'll feel like I'm enough. But from a place of inner knowing and belief of, like, I know that I am here to help these amazing aligned souls bring their retreats to life and create epically transformational experiences. And I know that I have the capacity and the ability, the unique ability to do that. Can I believe in myself enough? I mean, that is that is the work. So for you, where are you doubting yourself? Where are you letting yourself off the hook? Where are you not letting yourself want what you want just because you want it? Where are you not feeling worthy of receiving love, money, abundance, pleasure? Whatever it is that you want, are you letting it in? Are you willing and open to receive, to receive, receive, receive? The universe loves giving to people who are grateful. Yes.

Marli Williams [:

Yes. Yes. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I'm open to receiving more, more joy, more love, more possibility, more abundance, more success. Can I be grateful and strive for greatness? And that's my invitation for you today is can you turn the notch up for yourself on yourself to believe in yourself no matter what you're going through, no matter you know, we we all every single day, week, month, year of our life, we all experience ups and downs, ebbs and flows. And even in those moments of darkness, of despair, of challenges, can we trust that those things aren't happening to us? They are happening for us.

Marli Williams [:

And the best thing that we can do those moments is to learn and grow from them. So I hope that this pep talk served you, supported you, encouraged you, lifted you up just a little bit. And as always, I love to hear your your thoughts, your reflections, your insights, your golden nuggets. And if this resonated for you, you wanna share it, feel free to share it with the world, with your friends, with your family. Rate it. Review it. Give it a 5 star so we can reach more people.
