Dr. David Spoon emphasizes the importance of having a non-judgmental sounding board in our lives for sharing struggles and challenges, urging listeners to seek such support. He highlights that while we can always turn to the Lord, having a trustworthy person to confide in is invaluable for spiritual growth and healing. Throughout the episode, David reflects on the sacredness of God's house, reminding us that the church should be a place of prayer and healing, not a marketplace. He discusses the incident of Jesus driving out merchants from the temple, illustrating the righteous anger of God towards the commercialization of sacred spaces. Ultimately, Dr. Spoon calls for a respectful approach to our places of worship, recognizing them as vital environments for spiritual connection and community support.
The David Spoon Experience delves into the significant role of community and personal relationships in the Christian faith. Dr. David Spoon emphasizes the importance of having a non-judgmental sounding board, someone with whom one can share their struggles and joys, apart from the Lord. He encourages listeners to actively seek such relationships, praying for God to provide supportive individuals in their lives. This need for connection underscores the inherent human desire for fellowship, especially among believers, as they navigate life's ups and downs together. Dr. Spoon passionately highlights that sharing burdens and experiences within a faith community fosters spiritual growth and accountability, making it crucial for individuals to reach out and cultivate these vital relationships. As he reflects on this theme, he intertwines humor and personal anecdotes, creating an engaging atmosphere that resonates with listeners.
Transitioning into a more profound discussion, Dr. Spoon shifts focus to the sanctity of places of worship, particularly emphasizing Jesus's actions in the temple where he drove out merchants and their customers. This segment serves as a powerful reminder of the seriousness with which we should approach the house of God. He passionately articulates that the church should not be treated like a marketplace but rather as a sacred space for prayer and healing. The episode challenges conventional perceptions of Jesus as merely a peaceful figure, instead portraying Him as one who fiercely protects the sanctity of His Father’s house. This narrative is underscored by biblical references, making it clear that God values His house and expects reverence from His followers.
Finally, the episode circles back to the listener experience, inviting them to engage through calls, texts, and emails, fostering an interactive community. Dr. Spoon emphasizes the importance of sharing testimonies and prayer requests, reinforcing the idea that the church is a place for healing and connection. He encourages all to approach their spiritual journeys with sincerity and respect, ensuring that the church remains a welcoming space for all seeking God. Overall, the David Spoon Experience delivers a rich exploration of faith, community, and the sacredness of worship, inviting listeners to deepen their connections with both God and each other.

Dr. David Spoon:But just think of this.
Dr. David Spoon:They're very inexpensive, they're very goofy, and we use them, so you might as well laugh.
Dr. David Spoon:Ha.
Dr. David Spoon:The review of the goofy news, which proves Jesus is coming back sooner than you think.
Dr. David Spoon:We hope before this introduction is over or immediately thereafter, life lessons for our faith that we could actually use probably won't if we sit on our blessed assurance.
Dr. David Spoon:Stop doing that.
Dr. David Spoon:Stop it.
Dr. David Spoon:Humor that will force you to think, why does this guy have a radio show?
Dr. David Spoon:Well, right now I'd just say it's because I'm blessed and highly favored.
Dr. David Spoon:I'll just leave it there.
Dr. David Spoon:Also, Bible trivia for fake and yet somehow real cool prizes, your phone calls and more.
Dr. David Spoon:Welcome to the David Spoon Experience, local, national and heavenly talk.
Dr. David Spoon:My name is Dr.
Dr. David Spoon:You know, I can stretch that word out for like 10 seconds.
Dr. David Spoon:Doctor.
Dr. David Spoon:I can just keep going.
Dr. David Spoon:Dr.
Dr. David Spoon:David Spoon, and I'll be your host for the next 5,400,000 milliseconds.
Dr. David Spoon:Get ready for one of the more bizarre experiences on live radio.
Dr. David Spoon:Here is the key to the show.
Dr. David Spoon:We don't know what we're doing.
Dr. David Spoon:We have no idea what's going to happen and we don't care.
Dr. David Spoon:But for the next few minutes, I want to talk hope with you.
Dr. David Spoon:So here we go.
Dr. David Spoon:We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.
Dr. David Spoon:I've got one that's a challenge.
Dr. David Spoon:I've got one that's a challenge.
Dr. David Spoon:Oh, no, no, Dave, don't challenge us.
Dr. David Spoon:Yeah, I was talking to somebody in my life and very close to me, and I just wanted to ask everybody this same question that I asked this person.
Dr. David Spoon:And it's a very important question.
Dr. David Spoon:I want you to listen.
Dr. David Spoon:Do you have in your life, along with the Lord, a non judgmental sounding board that you can share some of your struggles with?
Dr. David Spoon:That's right.
Dr. David Spoon:I asked that question.
Dr. David Spoon:Do you have a non judgmental sounding board that you can share your struggles with that you feel safe, you're comfortable to share it?
Dr. David Spoon:Now, of course you do.
Dr. David Spoon:That with the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:But I'm just wondering if you have anybody in your life that you can do that with.
Dr. David Spoon:And here's my admonition to you as a brother in the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:If you do not have one, pray for one.
Dr. David Spoon:Ask God to bring you somebody that you too can count on, that can support you, not judge you, love you, help you, and help you become more and more and more like Jesus as you deal with the things that God is dealing with in your own life.
Dr. David Spoon:It is good to have confidence in a faithful person, because confidence in an unfaithful person is like a broken tooth or a foot out of joint.
Dr. David Spoon:You need to have somebody in your life that you can count on, which, ironically, will be some of the intro we're about to do.
Dr. David Spoon:The reason I bring that up to you is because I have found it very valuable for my own life.
Dr. David Spoon:And if you are a Christian and you go through some up and downs like many of us do, it's a good thing to have somebody that you can share with that will love you and pray for you.
Dr. David Spoon:Of course you have the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm asking you from a human point of view, if you do not have that, I beseech you in the name of Jesus to pray to God to have somebody that you can share with.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay?
Dr. David Spoon:Now, if you have a response to that, if you have an opinion, a comment, a thought, or a question, of course we don't want it to die of loneliness.
Dr. David Spoon:We feel that's not a good idea.
Dr. David Spoon:We want you to give us a call.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:Wow.
Dr. David Spoon:Now watch this.
Dr. David Spoon:We just did that intro.
Dr. David Spoon:Talking to Jam and Jacob is like talking to a person that you can count on.
Dr. David Spoon:Aw, that's nice.
Dr. David Spoon:Thank you, David.
Dr. David Spoon:Happy Chili Tuesday.
Dr. David Spoon:Happy Chili Tuesday to you, my friend.
Dr. David Spoon:It's so funny because our music is, you know, when it's cold outside.
Dr. David Spoon:I have.
Dr. David Spoon:The month of May is like, it's cold outside, dude.
Dr. David Spoon:Yes, it is.
Dr. David Spoon:We did the month of May.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay.
Dr. David Spoon:Anyway, I just want people to be aware, and I'm not gonna get into this too deeply, but number one, Dave.
Dr. David Spoon:0 for 5.
Dr. David Spoon:Now in the old football realm.
Dr. David Spoon:David.
Dr. David Spoon:It's okay, David.
Dr. David Spoon:You did your best.
Dr. David Spoon:I sent something to Don.
Dr. David Spoon:He sent something back to me.
Dr. David Spoon:Just a laughing emoji kind of thing.
Dr. David Spoon:It's just like, wow, talk about a flip around.
Dr. David Spoon:But that's okay.
Dr. David Spoon:Here it is.
Dr. David Spoon:Just yesterday as I was driving home, I started not to feel very good, kind of a little bit, almost like fluish.
Dr. David Spoon:And then I took my temperature.
Dr. David Spoon:I actually had a 99.5 temperature last night after I got home.
Dr. David Spoon:So I asked the people to pray for me and everything else.
Dr. David Spoon:And then today I am just like at 96%.
Dr. David Spoon:Just feel 100% well, not 196% better.
Dr. David Spoon:And I'm just, I'm on it.
Dr. David Spoon:And you better be careful because I got something to teach today.
Dr. David Spoon:Just get the aloe vera oil out now in case there's any burns that do come down there.
Dr. David Spoon:Do you like that?
Dr. David Spoon:Well, I'm glad you're feeling better.
Dr. David Spoon:There's always that moment where you start feeling not the best.
Dr. David Spoon:You start feeling sick and you're thinking, oh, no.
Dr. David Spoon:Exactly.
Dr. David Spoon:And I was like, no, no.
Dr. David Spoon:So I got people praying for me all over.
Dr. David Spoon:That's a big deal.
Dr. David Spoon:That makes a big difference.
Dr. David Spoon:Speaking of that, here's the bottom line.
Dr. David Spoon:The bottom line is we do want to know if you have somebody where you can go.
Dr. David Spoon:And if you don't, let us know.
Dr. David Spoon:We'll pray for you.
Dr. David Spoon:That God will provide that for you.
Dr. David Spoon:Because that's a big deal.
Dr. David Spoon:And what's big deal about that is that you need to be able to have fellowship.
Dr. David Spoon:You need to be able to connect with other Bible believing, born again Christians who will love you and support you.
Dr. David Spoon:Not everybody is the nicest in this process.
Dr. David Spoon:And people who aren't Christians often do not have that sense or that spirit of compassion.
Dr. David Spoon:If you need somebody like that, well, by golly, let's pray along those lines.
Dr. David Spoon:So here's the bottom line to our show.
Dr. David Spoon:And look, I've only said that once so far today, so that's pretty good.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:The blessing you get out of that is you talk to Jim and Jacob for a few seconds.
Dr. David Spoon:Don't get his bio and don't give him yours.
Dr. David Spoon:Thank you.
Dr. David Spoon:He's doing a job.
Dr. David Spoon:Right.
Dr. David Spoon:Cool.
Dr. David Spoon:All right.
Dr. David Spoon:Additionally, you can text.
Dr. David Spoon:So that's using your phone for text.
Dr. David Spoon:If I have to explain it to you, forget that part and just call.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:Again, that is the ministry number, but during the show it's our text number.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:You can also send an email.
Dr. David Spoon:Now, for those that don't know email, it's been around for a little while.
Dr. David Spoon:At this point, you should probably know a little bit about email.
Dr. David Spoon:Davidemustincrease.org that's davidemustincrease.org it's all one thing, David, with the little circle A in the circle, he must increase from John 3:30 and then.org because we're a nonprofit corporation.
Dr. David Spoon:So davidemustincreased.org so why would you call?
Dr. David Spoon:Why would you text?
Dr. David Spoon:Why would you email?
Dr. David Spoon:It can be for that very thing.
Dr. David Spoon:We just mentioned a prayer request.
Dr. David Spoon:Maybe you've got stuff that you're really working on and you need some help with it.
Dr. David Spoon:And you know what?
Dr. David Spoon:We'll come alongside of you.
Dr. David Spoon:We will join you in your struggle.
Dr. David Spoon: As Paul said in Romans: Dr. David Spoon:We'll do that very thing and become the body of Christ that God intended.
Dr. David Spoon:Simple.
Dr. David Spoon:Galatians 6:2.
Dr. David Spoon:Bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Dr. David Spoon:That's what we're supposed to be doing.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay, let's do it.
Dr. David Spoon:Maybe you've got something you want to share.
Dr. David Spoon:I just shared mine.
Dr. David Spoon:Lord's healing me.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm feeling better.
Dr. David Spoon:Praise the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:Prayer works.
Dr. David Spoon:And for people that don't believe prayer works.
Dr. David Spoon:It doesn't because they have no faith.
Dr. David Spoon:Just told that to Rob today.
Dr. David Spoon:Bottom line, prayer works.
Dr. David Spoon:You can absolutely share and we'll pray for you.
Dr. David Spoon:Additionally, maybe something has happened and the Lord has blessed you and you want to share it.
Dr. David Spoon:You want to be that person that just communicates.
Dr. David Spoon:You don't have to speak it brilliantly.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm just.
Dr. David Spoon:Ugh.
Dr. David Spoon:Stop trying to think.
Dr. David Spoon:You have to share a testimony with.
Dr. David Spoon:I have to say it in such a way for it to have an impact.
Dr. David Spoon:It will have absolutely zero impact on anybody's life unless God blesses it.
Dr. David Spoon:How about that?
Dr. David Spoon:It's just that simple.
Dr. David Spoon:Unless God blesses it, it doesn't matter how it's spoken.
Dr. David Spoon:So maybe you got something you want to share.
Dr. David Spoon:A praise report or a testimony, anything along those lines.
Dr. David Spoon:Maybe you got something that just really blessed you, really encouraged you.
Dr. David Spoon:Some.
Dr. David Spoon:Many people have been encouraged by some of the things that have been going on in the leadership of the country.
Dr. David Spoon:There's nothing wrong with that.
Dr. David Spoon:There's nothing bizarre with that.
Dr. David Spoon:We need to keep our eye on the prize.
Dr. David Spoon:Just yesterday I heard a commentator going, doesn't matter what you believe, it doesn't matter what you think.
Dr. David Spoon:It's such absolute Rubbish.
Dr. David Spoon:Just absolute rubbish.
Dr. David Spoon:It's not the journey, it's the destination.
Dr. David Spoon:Because for some people, the destination is hell.
Dr. David Spoon:So yeah, it's not the journey, it's the destination.
Dr. David Spoon:And it does matter what you believe.
Dr. David Spoon:That is important.
Dr. David Spoon:And some people are very pleased with the direction things are going.
Dr. David Spoon:Some people are freaking out the other direction.
Dr. David Spoon:I've already told you this before, I have no problem saying it again and I'll say it now, cuz it's a good time to.
Dr. David Spoon:No matter what the media tells you, to some degree, they're lying.
Dr. David Spoon:They're never telling the truth.
Dr. David Spoon:Media stands for making everything darker in America.
Dr. David Spoon:That ain't gonna change because we switch presidents.
Dr. David Spoon:Not gonna happen.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay?
Dr. David Spoon:They have their agenda, they're not giving it up.
Dr. David Spoon:Just keep that, keep aware of that.
Dr. David Spoon:Make sure you understand.
Dr. David Spoon:You have to sift through the.
Dr. David Spoon:I don't wanna say what that is.
Dr. David Spoon:You have to sift through the pile in order to figure out what might be kind of true and not just be aware of that.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay, great.
Dr. David Spoon:Bottom line, if you want to reach out to us by phone, by text, by email, we'll pray for you.
Dr. David Spoon:You'll get a chance to share anything along those lines.
Dr. David Spoon:Not a problem.
Dr. David Spoon:In the meantime.
Dr. David Spoon:Wow, I'm just rolling on this.
Dr. David Spoon:In the meantime, we're in Matthew and we're at a part that has a very important point in it.
Dr. David Spoon:And some people are going to be a little bit overwhelmed.
Dr. David Spoon:Don't get mad at me.
Dr. David Spoon:I didn't write the book.
Dr. David Spoon:I can just read it.
Dr. David Spoon: e're picking it up in Matthew: Dr. David Spoon:Here's what it says.
Dr. David Spoon:Jesus entered the temple and began to drive out the merchants and their customers.
Dr. David Spoon:He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the stalls of those selling doves.
Dr. David Spoon:He said, the Scriptures declare my temple will be called a place of prayer, but you have turned it into a den of thieves.
Dr. David Spoon:Oh boy, oh boy.
Dr. David Spoon:I remember being in Bible college in a master's class, believe it or not, a master's class.
Dr. David Spoon:And this person in this master's class, we were all talking, doing the, you know, kind of the phone thing, like everybody got to share.
Dr. David Spoon:And this person was convinced initially that Jesus was a pacifist.
Dr. David Spoon:So this was part of the passages that I brought into the conversation and said, bud, I can love you with all my heart in the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:If you think Jesus is a pacifist, you're reading a false gospel, because he ain't.
Dr. David Spoon:Here's the thing.
Dr. David Spoon:This event is most shocking to many people when they read it.
Dr. David Spoon:Who try to think of Jesus as many people have come to think of it.
Dr. David Spoon:They think of Jesus in this image as Jesus is tied to that hippie, flashing the peace sign every few seconds, wearing a tie dye shirt, walking around in sandals.
Dr. David Spoon:And everybody's just, everybody's pale.
Dr. David Spoon:And if that's the image you have of Jesus, it's a lie.
Dr. David Spoon:That is not who Jesus presented in his earthly journey.
Dr. David Spoon:He enters the temple.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay, so he goes in, right?
Dr. David Spoon:You ready for this?
Dr. David Spoon:I mean, you got to think about this.
Dr. David Spoon:He begins to drive out the merchants and the customers.
Dr. David Spoon:So he's not just a little bit upset about the people that are selling things.
Dr. David Spoon:Just so we can all be on the same page.
Dr. David Spoon:He's upset about people that are buying things too.
Dr. David Spoon:He doesn't like the selling and the buying and the buying and the selling.
Dr. David Spoon:So what does he do?
Dr. David Spoon:He drives out people, the merchants and their customers, knocking over tables of the money changers.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the cashier and the stalls of those selling doves.
Dr. David Spoon:I think if you were in a room and there was a cashier there and Jesus comes in the room and kicks over the cashier's little thing, flips over the table, knocks over the chairs, starts smacking all the stalls.
Dr. David Spoon:I think you'd be like going, uh, oh, somebody's off their meds.
Dr. David Spoon:I mean, that's the first thing people would think.
Dr. David Spoon:Hey, guess what that is.
Dr. David Spoon:The righteousness of God manifested in human form.
Dr. David Spoon:At any point you thought Jesus was a pacifist, you're going to have to bury that image right now and forever.
Dr. David Spoon:The table used by the money changers were not the ones that we play pinochle on.
Dr. David Spoon:They're not the ones that we play bridge on.
Dr. David Spoon:They didn't have plastic tables with little legs and then you can just push it by the side and it just falls over.
Dr. David Spoon:That's not how the tables were back then.
Dr. David Spoon:It's not flimsy little plastic ones to play cards with.
Dr. David Spoon:They were just a wee bit more sturdy, either made of wood or stone.
Dr. David Spoon:And just in case somebody misses this.
Dr. David Spoon:No, I'm not off my meds.
Dr. David Spoon:Just listen.
Dr. David Spoon:Jesus drove out the animals, which it doesn't take a.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay, all you animals, now it's time to leave.
Dr. David Spoon:That's not how that works.
Dr. David Spoon:Jesus used a whip.
Dr. David Spoon:That's a very different image of Jesus, isn't it?
Dr. David Spoon:He takes a whip.
Dr. David Spoon:Get out.
Dr. David Spoon:But what we see is the image of Jesus Christ manifesting the heart of God for his home, for his temple.
Dr. David Spoon:Listen to this.
Dr. David Spoon:For his place of fellowship.
Dr. David Spoon:With mankind.
Dr. David Spoon:Now, it's bad enough that Adam and Eve blew it in the beginning, which we were all a part of.
Dr. David Spoon:But here people are taking advantage of God's residency and turning it into a marketplace.
Dr. David Spoon:Wow.
Dr. David Spoon:No wonder Jesus lit up all those around him.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm going to say a saying that is not mine.
Dr. David Spoon:It is another minister's saying, but it is an excellent saying.
Dr. David Spoon:And I don't want you to think of it as my saying or his saying.
Dr. David Spoon:I think it's more from the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:Listen to what I'm going to say to you.
Dr. David Spoon:It's a very fascinating statement.
Dr. David Spoon:The meeting place that's the church is the making place.
Dr. David Spoon:That's for discipleship and teaching, for the marketplace.
Dr. David Spoon:In other words, the meeting place where we meet with God, where we engage with God.
Dr. David Spoon:When we connect with the Lord and He pours his spirit into us and has his truth manifest in our lives, that meeting place becomes the making or the molding place for when we are released into the marketplace.
Dr. David Spoon:But the meeting place is not the marketplace.
Dr. David Spoon:It is the house of God and should be treated with a sense of reverence.
Dr. David Spoon:That doesn't mean you have to wear a tie to go, but it does mean you don't go to church so you can pick up a few more prospects, so you can sell them insurance.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the house of God and should be treated with that level of respect.
Dr. David Spoon:That's what Jesus communicates.
Dr. David Spoon:And in fact, he quotes Jeremiah 7:11 when he's just like, going, you've made this a den of thieves.
Dr. David Spoon:What are you doing?
Dr. David Spoon:This is the house of God.
Dr. David Spoon:That's how Jesus felt about that.
Dr. David Spoon:Everybody's going, what happened to Dave?
Dr. David Spoon:Nothing.
Dr. David Spoon:This is how the Lord feels about it.
Dr. David Spoon:Without getting too far into politics, even today, some bishop had to open his mouth and give all these false statements while they were doing the ceremony for the vice president and the president.
Dr. David Spoon:All this ridiculous statement, and that guy's got not a clue who Jesus is.
Dr. David Spoon:He doesn't know him from a brown paper bag.
Dr. David Spoon:And the thing that just drives people crazy is, look, if you're going to represent God, then you have to represent God's truth.
Dr. David Spoon:And if you're not going to do that, get out of the business.
Dr. David Spoon:You're just a liar and a lousy actor.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the kind of thing we're talking about.
Dr. David Spoon:God doesn't like that.
Dr. David Spoon:In fact, when people do the wrong thing regarding the very elements of God in His house, he often strikes them down.
Dr. David Spoon:Think of Ananias and Sapphira lying in the church or thinking of Uzzah who put his hand out to steady the ark of God.
Dr. David Spoon:Don't you touch that.
Dr. David Spoon:That's mine.
Dr. David Spoon:Zap dead.
Dr. David Spoon:That's how God feels.
Dr. David Spoon:You're thinking, what?
Dr. David Spoon:Yeah, you know what God's saying?
Dr. David Spoon:Clean it up.
Dr. David Spoon:This is my house.
Dr. David Spoon:Don't do that.
Dr. David Spoon:Boy, I'd be surprised somebody calls in today.
Dr. David Spoon:No, I'm kidding.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm not mad, really.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm just trying to tell you this is the truth of the matter.
Dr. David Spoon:You see what I'm saying?
Dr. David Spoon:Oh, Aunt Deb's told me that person who did that might have been a she.
Dr. David Spoon:That's even worse.
Dr. David Spoon:So don't even maybe go down that road.
Dr. David Spoon:Here's the bottom line.
Dr. David Spoon:The bottom line is the house of God is sacred.
Dr. David Spoon:Even when you go into it.
Dr. David Spoon:Sure, it's a wonderful place.
Dr. David Spoon:It's a warming place.
Dr. David Spoon:Sure, you can go to church in shorts.
Dr. David Spoon:Nobody cares about that.
Dr. David Spoon:But you go in with a heart towards the Lord because it's his house.
Dr. David Spoon:Do we get that?
Dr. David Spoon:I just want to make sure we get that.
Dr. David Spoon:That's what Jesus was communicating.
Dr. David Spoon:And by the way, it's in all four gospels.
Dr. David Spoon:Think that's an accident?
Dr. David Spoon:Not all four gospels record this.
Dr. David Spoon:Why?
Dr. David Spoon:Because God does not want people to miss, this is my house.
Dr. David Spoon:What is it that Jesus does that demonstrates how the house of God should be?
Dr. David Spoon:What's fascinating is the next portion of the verse which is not the portion that ever gets taught on.
Dr. David Spoon:So let's go back to it.
Dr. David Spoon:Jesus entered the temple and began to drive out the merchants and their customers.
Dr. David Spoon:He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the stalls of those selling doves.
Dr. David Spoon:He said, the scripture declares my temple will be called a place of prayer, and you've turned it into a den of thieves.
Dr. David Spoon:Jesus dropping it, dropping the mic.
Dr. David Spoon:Clean it up, people.
Dr. David Spoon:Then verse 14 tells you what Jesus had in mind for the church.
Dr. David Spoon:Ready?
Dr. David Spoon:The blind and the lame came to him and he healed them there in the temple.
Dr. David Spoon:In contrast to church being a business, which in many ways it has become for many groups, it is a place for people who are physically and spiritually blind and physically and spiritually lame.
Dr. David Spoon:It is a place for them to come and get healed.
Dr. David Spoon:This is not a business as man runs business.
Dr. David Spoon:This is the grace and the mercy and the kindness of God.
Dr. David Spoon:This is the Lord manifesting his compassion.
Dr. David Spoon:This is the Lord making it straightforward.
Dr. David Spoon:My house is a house of prayer.
Dr. David Spoon:My home is a place where you come and engage with me.
Dr. David Spoon:In that engagement, you are going to find spiritual and physical and other realms of healing that I am offering because it's my home, it's my place, it's the garden that should not be perverted like the Garden of Eden was with sin.
Dr. David Spoon:And you might be thinking, wow, that's a really.
Dr. David Spoon:You're being very, very forceful, Dave.
Dr. David Spoon:You're being very, very strong.
Dr. David Spoon:I don't think that any person can understand that righteousness that God exhibited in the perfect sense.
Dr. David Spoon:I wish I could.
Dr. David Spoon:I don't think it's nearly false forceful enough.
Dr. David Spoon:I think God saying, this is my house, you treat me with respect.
Dr. David Spoon:You think, wow, is that for real?
Dr. David Spoon:Oh, yeah.
Dr. David Spoon:Oh yeah.
Dr. David Spoon:Disrespecting God in his house.
Dr. David Spoon:I don't think that's a good idea for anybody.
Dr. David Spoon:I don't think it's a good idea in any way, shape or form.
Dr. David Spoon:So what I'm trying to communicate to you is.
Dr. David Spoon:And I'm not just jumping in on the political side of it, so don't get there.
Dr. David Spoon:The house of God is meant for real engagement with God.
Dr. David Spoon:You might have to dress up, but you need to come with your heart prepared to come before the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:It is a fellowship and gathering, but the Lord is there with the people.
Dr. David Spoon:It's a place of refreshment and strengthening, of lifting up, of healing, of helping, of answered prayers.
Dr. David Spoon:Great, then let's treat it that way.
Dr. David Spoon:Let's have respect for the house of God.
Dr. David Spoon:Does it have to be the same denomination?
Dr. David Spoon:You know better than that.
Dr. David Spoon:There were multiple temples.
Dr. David Spoon:This just happened to be the temple in Jerusalem.
Dr. David Spoon:And Jesus makes it clear, my house is a house of prayer where people meet with me and we're going to keep it that way.
Dr. David Spoon:I think if you look at that and take a step back, you'd be thinking, wow, that seems like a very, very specific area that the Lord doesn't want people to kind of mess up in.
Dr. David Spoon:I would say you are correct.
Dr. David Spoon:I would say if he mentions it four times, one in each gospel, saying, not liking this, then there's a reason for it.
Dr. David Spoon:The house of God is a place for healing.
Dr. David Spoon:That's what it is.
Dr. David Spoon:And if you understood it, and I understood it, we'd probably treat it with a greater sense of reverence because that's the place where people's hearts get made right with God.
Dr. David Spoon:More people, just in case you're wondering, I'm just going to lay down the facts.
Dr. David Spoon:More people have been saved visiting a church than any other form of evangelism ever combined.
Dr. David Spoon:Church is a place where the gospel is preached, reminding those of us who have said yes.
Dr. David Spoon:And introducing it to those who have never heard.
Dr. David Spoon:And that is a place where a person, more than any other place on the planet, meets and connects with their Lord and Savior.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the respect it needs.
Dr. David Spoon:It's not a political machine.
Dr. David Spoon:It's not a business.
Dr. David Spoon:It's a place to meet with God.
Dr. David Spoon:It is Bethel.
Dr. David Spoon:Right?
Dr. David Spoon:Ooh, Dave, slow down.
Dr. David Spoon:Not a chance.
Dr. David Spoon:All right, folks, you've been listening right now to the David Spoon Experience.
Dr. David Spoon:We're gonna take a short break, then we're gonna come right back here to Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
Dr. David Spoon:Hang on.
Jennifer:Hey, there.
Jennifer:It's amazing Jennifer.
Jennifer:And I am helping out the David Spoon Experience.
Jennifer:As you may know, I basically run the KAAM radio station.
Dr. David Spoon:Amazing.
Jennifer:And Dr.
Jennifer:Dave is looking for a few good people to join and become representatives, ambassadors, and stewards of this here radio ministry.
Jennifer:Now, you may be thinking, well, I'd love to get involved, but I'm not very qualified for ministerial positions.
Jennifer:Well, the truth is that because you are a child of our heavenly Father that you trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and seek to live by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Jennifer:You have all you need to be a part of this ministry.
Jennifer:But, Jennifer, don't I need to be perfect?
Jennifer:No.
Jennifer:Just go to hemustincrease.org that's hemustincrease.org click on the three lines at the top right of the website, and then click on the Ambassador's Initiative link.
Jennifer:Just fill out the form and we will reach out to you.
Jennifer:But sorry, no parking tickets will be paid for you as an ambassador through this position.
Jennifer:You are on your own with that.
Dr. David Spoon:The David spoon Experience again.
Dr. David Spoon:Dr.
Dr. David Spoon:Robert Jeffress.
Dr. David Spoon:Doctor, are you there with us?
Robert Jeffress:I'm here with you, David.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm so glad that you're here.
Dr. David Spoon:I got to ask you this question.
Dr. David Spoon:You know, I get a little fiery, especially when Christians are being accused of things that are false.
Dr. David Spoon:And that happens all.
Dr. David Spoon:All the time, especially in the media.
Dr. David Spoon:And I think if you remember our very first time we ever talked, I told you how impressed I was with you that you are able to keep your spirit steady.
Robert Jeffress:I appreciate that so much.
Robert Jeffress:You're a good friend.
Dr. David Spoon:I appreciate that.
Dr. David Spoon:Here's the thing that drives me absolutely batty, which is where I need your help.
Dr. David Spoon:Now, I understand this situation with Tim Tebow.
Dr. David Spoon:He was going to do a dedication for you.
Dr. David Spoon:He got a lot of pressure, apparently, from the media.
Dr. David Spoon:The media accused you of being homophobic and anti Semitic, which for me, I mean, it was.
Dr. David Spoon:I guess when I first heard it, I was overwhelmed.
Dr. David Spoon:First of all, anti Semitic is a person who discriminates against or is prejudiced or hostile towards Jews.
Dr. David Spoon:You've been on my show now this is three time, and I'm as Jewish as they come.
Robert Jeffress:Yeah, well, David, I mean, the charge of anti Semitic comes from saying that everyone, including Jews, must trust in Christ in order to go to heaven.
Robert Jeffress:That is hardly anti Semitic.
Robert Jeffress:In fact, I have a Jewish friend in New York who called me this week.
Robert Jeffress:She's not a Christian, but she said, I don't understand all of this.
Robert Jeffress:Said, I don't believe in the New Testament.
Robert Jeffress:But you do.
Robert Jeffress:You're simply saying what the New Testament says.
Robert Jeffress:And you know, David, we've said before, you know, Jesus said, I'm the way, the truth and the life.
Robert Jeffress:No man comes to the Father but by me.
Robert Jeffress:And I remind people Jesus was not a Southern Baptist evangelist.
Robert Jeffress:He was a Jewish rabbi.
Robert Jeffress:And yet you look at what he said, what the Apostle Paul said, the Apostle Peter.
Robert Jeffress:Here are the three most prominent men of the New Testament, every one of them a devout Jew.
Robert Jeffress:And yet they said there's one way to God, and that's through faith in Christ.
Robert Jeffress:That is not anti Semitic.
