Summary:

Salvation is the initial step into our relationship with the Lord. This opens the door for us to accept Him as Lord over our lives, and begins a life long process of us giving our selves to Him in every area of our lives. As we walk on in the footsteps of the pattern Son, we begin to die out to our old nature and take on His nature. As the firstborn son, we too must be pleasing to our Father.

Show Notes:

  • The very purpose of our being saved was to bring us into a relationship with the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

  • As we die out to the old nature we become alive to the Christ nature that is within us.

  • We must remember that we are not the one in control, but it is God in us to work out His good pleasure.

  • Once you accept the Lord into your life, ownership changes hands and He now owns you.

  • We must walk in the footsteps of the pattern son, (Jesus Christ) to become just like Him.

  • This walk with Him is not complicated. We must not let our minds or other things complicate our walk with Him.

Quotes:

  • The purpose of your salvation, the purpose of being set apart, is that we can be introduced, and be a part of the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

  • ...we look what He did in His time here on the earth. He showed us through His life the kind of life that we have to lead, if we're going to answer His call.

  • ...the more you become alive in the Christ in you, things begin to disappear of your old nature.

  • Salvation was great, but the Lordship of Jesus Christ coming in to know Him , and to walk with Him in an every moment experience is a real, real experience.

  • I have accepted the Lord, now what? Now the Lordship of Jesus Christ becomes something of a relationship - and every day, every moment, every part of your being relationship.

  • You may be giving Him permission, you know, by your yielding your spirit to Him, and submitting your heart to Him, but He's the one doing the work in you and creating you into His image.

  • You're no longer your own when you open up to accept the Lord.

  • We have to get a revelation. We find out that Yahshua Messiah, Jesus Christ, is the pattern Son.

  • ...I'm going to walk today is in His footsteps. You're led by the Holy Spirit, and that's the key.

  • ...it's a fun thing because it's not complicated. It's only our human minds and, and all these things that complicate a walk with God, complicate us following in the footsteps of our Messiah.

Takeaway:

It is all about the Lordship of Jesus Christ in our lives and us walking in the footsteps of the first born son. We submit to Him as Lord in our lives, die out to the old nature and receive from Him His nature. We refuse to complicate what God is working out in us as the Holy Spirit leads us each day to proclaim Him Lord!

Transcripts

The purpose of your salvation, the purpose of being set apart, is that we can be introduced, and be a part of the Lordship of Jesus Christ. What does that mean? That means that He is more than Savior. That leads us in many different directions, we look what He did in His time here on the earth. He showed us through His life the kind of life that we have to lead, if we're going to answer His call. Come follow me.

What was He sent here for? To bring us into more than just Yahshua Messiah, our Savior, or our Messiah. And that is bring us into a knowledge, and a revelation, and where does it go? It goes to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, because with that, we were trained to be sons.

When we're saved, there is an experience of salvation, and that's a wonderful experience, and a freeing experience. It's awesome. But then the Lord says, “come up a little higher.”

Open your heart to me as your Lord. And Paul really lays it out very well. He says, "He must increase. I must decrease. " And then he goes on to say, "I die daily." What's Paul dying to? He's dying to the flesh nature. He's dying to the old man, and becoming more and more alive to Christ who lives within him. And the more you become alive in the Christ in you, things begin to disappear of your old nature . Because it's a journey. It's a moment by moment experience.

It's a day by day experience. You are changing, and becoming something more than you ever were before, even in salvation. Salvation was great, but the Lordship of Jesus Christ coming in to know Him , and to walk with Him in an every moment experience is a real, real experience.

When you come into a relationship with the Lord, you accept Him, and receive Him. Then you start to develop a relationship. You open up your heart, and you draw the presence of the Lord, and you ask the Holy Spirit to show you what do I do? I have accepted the Lord, now what? Now the Lordship of Jesus Christ becomes something of a relationship - and every day, every moment, every part of your being relationship . Just takes little steps.

It doesn't take a big step. It just takes little steps. The Lord is right there. The Holy Spirit's right there to teach you, to show you, "no, that's not the way you're to do it. That's not the way you're to go. This is the way. Walk ye in it. " And it's important to have other people around you that maybe are more mature, have more of a relation, longer relationship with the Lord, have more of an understanding of the Lord, that they can help you, that they can physically help you, mentor you, encourage you . In order for us to become sons, we have to start the journey.

In reality, too, there's another step that you need to understand. I think every person needs to understand. You may be giving Him permission, you know, by your yielding your spirit to Him, and submitting your heart to Him, but He's the one doing the work in you and creating you into His image.

You're not doing it. All you can do is position yourself in His presence. All you can do is submit your heart to Him, and open up to allow Him. Isn't this what it says? I believe it's Philippians chapter 2, it's Christ in you doing His will in you, creating you.

He's the workman. You're the evidence of what He's doing. It's so important because a lot of people think they have to do works. Works are not the thing that creates the presence of God, (right.) What creates the presence of God? It's your relationship with God.

It's like turning on a electric switch. When you accept the Lord, and receive His sacrifice for you on the cross, the Lord starts moving . Gives them permission to start moving in your life. You're no longer your own when you open up to accept the Lord. You're no longer your own. He is the one that's in charge. That's why it's the Lordship of Jesus Christ. All you have to do is just like Ken's saying: open up . Just open up, and just draw on the Lord, just stand in His presence. The Lord will show you; the Holy Spirit will teach you. Being around others will help minister to you.

That's why the family is so important. Because every part of the family, the body of Christ, is a mentoring, mentoring force to your spirit, in allowing you to open up . A lot of times we don't know how to open up.

We don't know how to take the next step. But we could hear somebody saying something. You know, just open your spirit, and you go, how do I do that? Then you start just reaching in. The Lord shows you how to open your spirit. Or someone could even explain it to you. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit is so important in all of this. Because the Holy Spirit within you is creating you to understand the things of God.

We have to get a revelation. We find out that Yahshua Messiah, Jesus Christ, is the pattern Son. To me, that speaks volumes. It opened up the New Testament.

It opened up Jesus' ministry with the understanding that Him as the pattern son, that I can walk in His footsteps, and I can become who He has become. He was sent here, and we know all the thing about our human nature and stuff. The overcoming was done by walking in His footsteps. It's kind of like one of those things you can write it on your heart that where I'm going to walk today is in His footsteps. You're led by the Holy Spirit, and that's the key. So was Jesus. When He was baptized by John the Baptist, He came up, and we know the story, and the Father says, "this is My Son in whom I am well pleased. " That was the key for us to follow in His footsteps.

The ultimate end is to be pleasing to the Father. He sent His Son in order to teach us the way to walk, to become like His Son, to become a son. And it's a fun thing because it's not complicated. It's only our human minds and, and all these things that complicate a walk with God, complicate us following in the footsteps of our Messiah.

I think that walking with the Lord at the beginning, you make many mistakes. And I think that's very common, and I think it's good. And I think you should not be afraid to make mistakes . Because if you're afraid, then you don't step out. You don't try things.

There's so much grace in God's heart, grace to become and grace to do. And there's really no fear because actually it's the Lord working in you. So, you really can't, “make mistakes,” in a sense, because He's working in you the whole time. Even when you, “make mistakes,” through those mistakes, He's still working a relationship out in you, and through you.

It's something our minds have a very difficult time with because we always keep thinking that we're doing it when actually it's Him in us doing it. He's actually in our thoughts, in our decisions, in our spirit. There's areas in our being that are not willing. So He's in us to will and to do of His good pleasure.

So He's not, you know, twisting our arm, but He is working in us that we will become willing in those areas that we're not willing. And so we can enter in to His Lordship greater, and greater every day, not because we're greater and greater, but because He's working it out in our being so that we'll be willing to walk in those things that we weren't yesterday.

The thing that I think is wonderful is that, and this is a key, when the Lord starts bringing things up, and convicts you with the Holy Spirit, will convict you of things and bring things up - do not touch those things. Stay in His presence. Submit those things to Him.

That's the whole point. The point is, you confess it. Yes, Lord, I see this. I can't fix this. It's like David said, "create in me a clean heart, O God." David didn't say, "Oh, I got it, Lord. Thank you for showing me that. I'll take care of it right now." If you read about David, he's always going back to the Lord and saying, “help me, help me,” because he knew he couldn't do it.

And we need to have that same heart. Lord, help me with this, because I can't. I'll mess it up every time. I think that's part of the Lordship of Jesus Christ. That's, He becomes Lord, because pretty soon you come to the revelation – Oh! He is Lord!
