Pastor Josh:
Pastor Josh here.
Pastor Josh:
I would like to give you a preview of our Sunday morning service on December 15th here at Middletown Baptist Church.
Pastor Josh:
This Sunday, we're going to be having a special Christmas program.
Pastor Josh:
We're going to be having special music from our children's choir and from our adult choir.
Pastor Josh:
All of these songs are going to be pointing to the greatest gift that was ever given to us.
Pastor Josh:
And that is the gift of Jesus Christ, the gift of salvation.
Pastor Josh:
That is actually, actually the title of the sermon that we're going to be having.
Pastor Josh:
It's the greatest gift.
Pastor Josh:
We're going to look at how, though we have received many gifts in our life, probably many gifts that we have enjoyed, the only gift that we need desperately is the gift of Jesus Christ, the gift of the gospel, the gift of salvation.
Pastor Josh:
We're going to be looking at Romans chapter five, and we're going to see that we all have a problem, and that is the problem of sin.
Pastor Josh:
And sin came through the sin of one man, that is Adam.
Pastor Josh:
That's what Romans chapter 5, verse 12 says.
Pastor Josh:
But the Bible says, just as sin enters the world through one man, so the gift of grace came through one man.
Pastor Josh:
And so we know that that gift was given in Jesus Christ.
Pastor Josh:
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son.
Pastor Josh:
And so the Bible says in Romans chapter 5, verse 15, is that this gift of God, this gift of grace was given to us by one man, Jesus Christ.
Pastor Josh:
And so that is the exciting aspect of this Christmas season.
Pastor Josh:
We can know that we are celebrating the coming of Jesus Christ, but we're also celebrating the gift that he extended to us in salvation.
Pastor Josh:
And so In Romans, chapter 5, verse 17, it says, for if by one man's offense death reigned by one, that's Adam, much more.
Pastor Josh:
They which receive the abundant grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one Jesus Christ.
Pastor Josh:
What an amazing truth that is.
Pastor Josh:
And so that's what we're going to be celebrating this Sunday, the greatest gift.
Pastor Josh:
We're going to be celebrating Jesus Christ our Lord.
Pastor Josh:
We hope that you are here with us in person to hear this special music and to hear the preaching of the Word of God.
Pastor Josh:
But if you're not able to be with us in person, we certainly will be live streaming on Facebook and YouTube and we'll be replaying of the service on our podcast channel here on Monday morning.
Pastor Josh:
Well, thank you so much.
Pastor Josh:
Looking forward to seeing you.
Pastor Josh:
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Pastor Josh:
We want to wish you a merry Christmas here from Middletown Baptist Church.
