What does Scripture really reveal about the role of women in God’s redemptive plan?

Recorded at CPE Summer 2026, TS Wright welcomes author and Bible teacher Jamie Hulker to Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast for a conversation about God’s purpose, calling, and esteem for women throughout Scripture.

Jamie shares her journey from growing up in the church to studying Scripture deeply, serving in missions, attending seminary, writing Bible studies, and eventually addressing one of the most discussed issues in the modern Church: the biblical role and significance of women.

The conversation highlights Jamie’s books, including Esteemed: God and His View of Women and Entrusted: Women in God’s Redemptive Plan – Profoundly Loved, Purposefully Included.

Rather than approaching the subject as a political or theological battleground, Jamie emphasizes returning to Scripture and examining how God actually worked through women from Genesis through the early Church.

TS and Jamie discuss biblical examples including Deborah, Mary Magdalene, Lydia, Phoebe, Priscilla, Junia, and the women Paul identifies as coworkers and hard workers in the Gospel.

A major focus of the episode is Mary Magdalene. She faithfully followed Jesus through His crucifixion, witnessed His burial, encountered the risen Christ, and was entrusted with the extraordinary responsibility of announcing His resurrection.

The episode also examines how cultural assumptions can sometimes influence Christian interpretation and why believers should distinguish biblical teaching from traditions that may have developed later.

Jamie’s central message is simple but powerful: God is better than we have imagined, He profoundly loves women, and He purposefully includes them in His redemptive work.
