Shownotes

In a world where tragedy can strike at any time - let's not only remember the things that bring us joy, but let's remember to be UNASHAMED of our faith. Jesus gave His life for us. Charlie Kirk also did the same. Let's live boldly, fiercely and unashamed for Jesus.

Transcripts

Speaker:

thank you, Jesus.

2

:

All right, everyone,

welcome back to I Can.

3

:

He Can.

4

:

This is episode 12 I'm so happy

that you guys are here and you

5

:

are listening if you're on your

way to work or you're at work.

6

:

I hope that you guys have a wonderful,

wonderful day and blessed week.

7

:

I know that it has been.

8

:

Quite, quite the journey of emotions that

we have all gone through in the past week.

9

:

Um, there has just been so much

going on, so many opinions,

10

:

so many things in the news.

11

:

But you have to remember, after

the storm, there's always sunshine.

12

:

And that is exactly what we saw.

13

:

honestly, I didn't wanna be another

person talking about Charlie.

14

:

But I just feel it in my heart that

I didn't have to speak specifically

15

:

about him, but I wanted to speak

about everything that he stood for.

16

:

And yes, he stood mainly for

his faith, but he was unashamed.

17

:

He was unashamed and he spoke fiercely.

18

:

And strongly about everything

that he had in his mind.

19

:

And the best part of all is

that it was for everyone's good.

20

:

There was no malice.

21

:

It all came from a place of

love, and it came from the exact

22

:

same place that Jesus spoke.

23

:

To his disciples and to all of the

people that were around Jesus at

24

:

that time from a place of love.

25

:

So today I just want to speak about

being unashamed first of all, of who

26

:

you are, what you believe in, and second

of all, to be unashamed of your faith.

27

:

Even if you are new to Christianity, I

still consider myself a new Christian.

28

:

But just be unashamed.

29

:

Be out there.

30

:

And one of the things that

Charlie was, was very bold and

31

:

Jesus was the boldest of all.

32

:

He did not care to whom he was

speaking where he was speaking.

33

:

He said what he had to say,

but he said it all lovingly.

34

:

And that is the most

beautiful part of that.

35

:

Now, this past week,

36

:

I heard this scripture from two

Corinthians and it's chapter four,

37

:

verses 17 through 18, and I'm gonna

read it to you and then I'm gonna

38

:

explain why that stood out to me.

39

:

So it says for this light, momentary

affliction is preparing for us an internal

40

:

weight of glory beyond all comparison

as we look not to the things that are

41

:

seen, but to the things that are unseen.

42

:

For the things that are seen

are transient, but the things

43

:

that are unseen are eternal.

44

:

And again, that was two Corinthians

chapter four, 17 through 18.

45

:

When I heard that the first time,

what stood out to me was, the things

46

:

that are seen are transient, but the

things that are unseen are eternal.

47

:

the first thing that

I thought of was love.

48

:

Love isn't something that you see.

49

:

Love is something that you feel

deep in your heart and you can see,

50

:

all these wonderful gestures, um,

people being romantic and flowers

51

:

and whatnot on social media.

52

:

But all of that doesn't really matter.

53

:

What truly matters is the

feeling behind those actions.

54

:

So.

55

:

It got me to thinking even further,

and I was like, wow, sai, everything

56

:

that has been so important to me in

life wasn't something that I saw.

57

:

It was something that made

me feel joy, happiness.

58

:

I felt love.

59

:

And for example, when I had my children.

60

:

that's a joy and a feeling of happiness

that no one can ever truly explain.

61

:

Same thing, like I said, with love.

62

:

If you are in love, You can't

describe how much you love someone.

63

:

You just know in your heart

that that's the way that you

64

:

truly feel about that person.

65

:

How about when you reach a goal,

that feeling that you have.

66

:

It's amazing.

67

:

And you want that all over

again, time and time again.

68

:

so when I read this scripture in

two Corinthians four, 17 through 18.

69

:

Everything that we see, everything that

we have, those things are transient.

70

:

Those things will come and go.

71

:

'cause one moment in this season, we

can have all of the money in the world.

72

:

And then our next season, you

know, something can happen

73

:

and we don't have anything.

74

:

So They're just tangible things.

75

:

And I feel like I, I said in the previous

episode that the day that we pass, we are

76

:

not going to take any of this with us.

77

:

We could only take our loved ones

if they've also accepted Jesus.

78

:

We need to.

79

:

Make sure that we are making

the most out of every day, We

80

:

are feeling that happiness.

81

:

We are feeling full of life and love.

82

:

And that's how I feel

when I do these podcasts.

83

:

Honestly.

84

:

I love sharing them.

85

:

it's those kinds of small things that are

going to fill your cup and bring you joy,

86

:

and we need to focus on those things,

87

:

That's what we have to hold onto.

88

:

today's episode, I really don't wanna

make it too long because I honestly just

89

:

wanna jump into my Bible and I wanna do my

21 day devotional that my friend Isis put

90

:

together, my heart really just wants to be

in the word, and I never felt like that.

91

:

It doesn't mean that I don't wanna do

the podcast, but I feel that we have

92

:

all had so much on our hearts and on

our minds this week that the only thing

93

:

that I really wanted to make sure that

I made crystal clear in this episode is

94

:

that we can't be ashamed of our walk.

95

:

Now, this isn't to tell you

go out and have a conversation

96

:

with every person that you see.

97

:

Of course, that would be an amazing thing,

but not everyone is ready to hear it.

98

:

I know I was not ready to hear

about church, to hear about God.

99

:

And then one day he

just tugged at my heart.

100

:

He used my son to get me to church, and I

went and I was truly ready to receive it.

101

:

I needed it.

102

:

God knew that I needed him.

103

:

And you can be that for another person.

104

:

But it can all start with

a small conversation.

105

:

It doesn't have to be perfect timing.

106

:

It doesn't have to be this huge planned

out version of what happened to you.

107

:

You could be honest and just say,

Hey, I listened to this one song.

108

:

You know, maybe you'll like it.

109

:

Maybe you'll find something

comforting in the words.

110

:

Or, Hey, this is what praying did for me.

111

:

It brought me comfort.

112

:

It did this for me, it did that for me.

113

:

Or, Hey, you wanna go to church with me?

114

:

It can be the smallest thing.

115

:

Walking with God doesn't

have to be complicated.

116

:

Walking with God is something that's real,

and it's not something that is transient.

117

:

It's something that comes from your heart.

118

:

That's when the Holy Spirit continues

to work in you day in and day out.

119

:

And so my friends, I

leave you to your day.

120

:

I have.

121

:

About like five pages of things

that I had planned to speak about.

122

:

I have them.

123

:

Yeah, I, this is a fun topic that I wanna

get to next week, but I didn't wanna

124

:

make it something that I didn't feel

in my heart, and that's why I'm just

125

:

going to close out with a quick prayer

126

:

Heavenly Father, thank

you so much for this life.

127

:

God, thank you for your blessings,

and thank you for the borrowed

128

:

breath that we are breathing

in and out in this very moment.

129

:

God, God, I pray that anyone

who is listening to this, I pray

130

:

that they have an amazing day.

131

:

I pray only good things for them.

132

:

and I pray that they are a

blessing to everyone around them.

133

:

God, if there is anyone in this

very moment that is listening,

134

:

who is at all struggling.

135

:

With their faith who is at all

questioning or having any doubts

136

:

at all of whether you are there.

137

:

I pray that they receive

some sort of sign.

138

:

I just pray that you make yourself

as loud as possible for them, as

139

:

loud as you want us to be for you.

140

:

I pray that you are as loud for them in

that moment so that they know that you

141

:

are there because you are their God.

142

:

You are always there.

143

:

Lord, we wouldn't be here

if it wasn't for you.

144

:

And so, God, I just pray that our hearts

are on fire for you and that we continue

145

:

to seek you, that we continue to want

you more than we want anything else.

146

:

I pray that you continue to want me

to be in your word instead of taking

147

:

time for things that don't matter.

148

:

God, I pray that the things of

the world is not what we seek

149

:

first, but we seek you, Lord.

150

:

thank you, Jesus for everything, for

absolutely everything that we have.

151

:

Father, it's in your

mighty name that we pray.

152

:

Amen.

153

:

Thank you for listening, my

friends, I love you all so much.

154

:

Thank you for sticking around,

for being here with me.

155

:

I pray that you guys have a safe

and amazing and blessed week.

156

:

See you guys in the next episode.

157

:

Take care.
