When the public thinks about illegal immigration, their foremost image is someone who entered the U.S. undetected through the mountains. 

This view, fueled by the media, is misplaced. 

Based on this false impression, many immigration restrictionists call for a border wall. 

Yet, a border wall is not the answer for reducing the number of undocumented immigrants living to the United States.  

After all, 2/3rds entered lawfully with inspection.
