Four companies went shopping in a single week — and one of them tripled its biomass fleet overnight.
Pacolet Milliken bought 100% of Georgia Renewable Power, whose two woody-biomass plants in Franklin and Madison Counties, Georgia add 116 MW under long-term PPAs with Georgia Power, roughly tripling the firm's biomass platform; Manulife financed the deal. Terms weren't disclosed, as they weren't for any of the week's four acquisitions.
Also this week: BRANDT acquired Mexico City-based Altiara (Agrícola Innovación), which will run as "Altiara, A Brandt Company" with former CEO Francisco Ortiz leading integration; BioFirst Group bought the remaining 14.71% of Brazil's Biotrop from Aqua Capital and Zempar, after taking ~85% in 2023 at a BRL 2.8 billion (€532 million) enterprise value; Kinetico picked up France's Cielter (Reims) and Italy's Enki Water (Bergamo); Darling Ingredients closed the sale of its CTH sausage-casings business to Germany's SARIA Group on October 1; Generate Capital closed a $154.5 million tax-equity commitment with KeyState's SOLCAP platform across 10 community-solar projects (43 MWac), pushing its 2026 commitments to $1.6 billion; Pivot Energy landed a $173 million first term loan from First Citizens Bank, Huntington Bank and BankUnited across 51 projects (135 MWdc); Foss and Company put $58 million of tax equity into a GridStor battery project in Hidalgo County, Texas; BloomX raised a $13 million Series A led by Elah Fund for robotic orchard pollination; TOYO opened a 2 GW module plant in Humble, Texas; Doral Renewables completed the final 900 MWac of its 1.3 GW Mammoth Solar complex; Veolia finished a $58 million wastewater plant rebuild in Plainsboro Township, New Jersey; and the Purdue/CME Ag Economy Barometer fell 12 points as a record 52% of farmers named input costs their top worry.
The paid edition, Low Country, pulls apart a full year of Dutch agriculture: recorded capital into Dutch companies and projects rose from $48.6 million to $170.3 million — though a single FrieslandCampina whey-protein program accounts for 60.8% of it — ownership changes climbed from seven to eleven, and North America overtook the Middle East as the destination Dutch firms named most.
