Day 30 of 47 going through John's gospel - more info at https://www.severnvineyard.org/time-space-jesus

What could happen if you take time and make space with Jesus today? This ten-minute podcast is part reading, part music, and part silence, all designed to help you create a space to picture and feel the scene with Jesus in it. You can use this space in lots of ways, including meditation, prayer, re-reading the passage or thinking about what it means for you today.

Today's reflection: How do you feel about Jesus overcoming every other power and drawing all to himself?

---

Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the festival. They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and made a request, saying, “Sir, we want to see Jesus.” Philip came and told Andrew, and in turn, Andrew came with Philip, and they told Jesus.

Jesus answered them, “The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. I tell you most truly, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single seed. But if it dies, it will bring much fruit. Whoever loves their life will lose it. Whoever downgrades their life in this world will keep their eternal life. If anyone serves me, they should follow me, and then where I am, my servant will also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honour them.

“Now my soul is troubled. What shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this time?’ But I came to this time for this cause. Father, glorify your name!”

Then a voice came out of the sky, saying, “I have glorified it and will glorify it again.”

The crowd who stood by and heard this said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.”

Jesus answered, “This voice hasn’t come for my sake, but for your sakes. Now is the crisis, the judgment of this world. Now the ruling power of this world will be thrown out. And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all to myself.” Saying this, he made known what kind of death he was about to die.

The crowd answered him, “We have from the law that the Christ will remain forever. How do you mean, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up?’ Who is this Son of Man?”

Jesus said to them, “The light is with you just a little while more. Walk while you have the light, so that darkness doesn’t overtake you. Whoever walks in the darkness doesn’t know where they are going. While you have the light, believe and trust in the light, so you may become children of light.” Jesus said these things, then he went away and was hidden from them.
