Speaker:Hello there, Modern Man. Do you know that you have four
Speaker:different type of erection? Not just one, four, and Mother
Speaker:Nature programmed you to have it that way. All right? I'm Dr Anne
Speaker:Truong. I've treated over 7000 men with ED over 20 year span.
Speaker:Let me say it again. You heard it right. You have four
Speaker:different type of erection that you can have. And they're all
Speaker:erection, but they are kind of created a little differently.
Speaker:But your body is programmed to have erection. Kind of like the
Speaker:same way that why you need to have sex, because that's the way
Speaker:your body is programmed. Let me start with the first erection,
Speaker:that is the morning erection, and you've had that probably
Speaker:since you're an adolescent, right when you start making
Speaker:testosterone and puberty. And morning erection usually happen
Speaker:at night time actually, and you can have between three to six
Speaker:erection at night, with the most prominent one in the morning
Speaker:when you wake up. However, it only happens when you're in a
Speaker:dream like state called Rapid Eye Movement, and that is
Speaker:spontaneous. So it happens when you're asleep, because that's
Speaker:when you're in deep sleep, you're dreaming, and you're in a
Speaker:parasympathetic state. And when you're in a parasympathetic
Speaker:state, the nerve is stimulated, you're releasing nitric oxide,
Speaker:you're increasing blood flow, therefore erection. So that
Speaker:erection number one, is morning erection, or even nighttime
Speaker:erection. You get about three to six of that and a night. How
Speaker:good is that? Right?
Speaker:Number two is called spontaneous reflex erection. Now this
Speaker:erection involves touching. Any type of touching of any of the
Speaker:erogenous zone, or touching on the penis itself. You know that
Speaker:you have more than 30 erogenous zones in your body, and with 12
Speaker:of it just in around the penile area. So touching, so it's a
Speaker:reflex. So if you touch and then it sends, then your sense
Speaker:sensation, to the nerve in the spinal cord. It goes in the loop
Speaker:like this. Sometimes it can even occur with just a slightest
Speaker:touch, or even just wind blowing near your penis. That's called
Speaker:reflex. So it goes to the spinal cord, the nerve at s2 and s4 and
Speaker:that causes that reflex erection. Sometimes, kind of
Speaker:happen in an embarrassing moment, right? Or sometimes it
Speaker:kind of happened you brushing against somebody, and whoop,
Speaker:there goes your erection. Sometimes you can't even control
Speaker:it. So the younger you are, you may notice that you can't
Speaker:control it as much.

Speaker:Number three is psychogenic erection. Where you get an
Speaker:erection by just thinking about it. You get an erection when
Speaker:you, let's say, close your eyes and you think about it, or even
Speaker:when you're reading erotic books. It comes from your brain.
Speaker:Then your brain releases hormones and release neuro
Speaker:chemical, which then sends messages to the nerve the base
Speaker:of your neck, which send messages to the parasympathetic
Speaker:nerve, which then open up blood vessels, releases nitric oxide,
Speaker:which then increases blood flow, and therefore you get an
Speaker:erection. Now, that is something that sometimes you do without
Speaker:even thinking about it. That's when you're kind of dreaming, or
Speaker:when you close your eyes. Sometimes that will happen. And
Speaker:just know that there is a large psychogenic component to getting
Speaker:that erection.
Speaker:So then the fourth one is the most common one where you get an
Speaker:erection during sexual arousal, which is a combination of both
Speaker:psychogenic and also the reflex erection. That means that if the
Speaker:combination of both pathway of the brain. Would then send
Speaker:messages down to the penis and then also the reflex pathway,
Speaker:where it involves touching. Now imagine two pathway merging to
Speaker:give you a full on erection, and that's what you get during
Speaker:sexual arousal. So sexual arousal involves touching and
Speaker:using the five senses and the taste, the smell, the visual
Speaker:stimuli, the audio stimuli, and touch to combine with the
Speaker:psychological component of being aroused, being in the mood,
Speaker:being present with yourself and with your partner, being
Speaker:intentional and not overthinking it. So that's why, sometime
Speaker:during sexual activity, if you're worried about performance
Speaker:and you had anxiety or depression of being distracted,
Speaker:you may not get an erection because you're distracting the
Speaker:pathway that is generating that erection.
Speaker:Okay, Modern Man. If you're struggling with weak erection,

Speaker:So overall, there are four different type of erection that
Speaker:you can have. How interesting is that? So let's summarize. The
Speaker:first is morning erection, or nighttime erection, which
Speaker:happens when you're asleep. It's the mother nature's way of
Speaker:exercising your penis for you and that you should be able to
Speaker:have it, which is a good sign that you're having it, and you
Speaker:should continue to have it. And one way to optimize it is to
Speaker:have good night sleep, and if you relax before you go to bed.
Speaker:The second type of erection is called the reflex, which is
Speaker:through touching, or through pressure or touching their
Speaker:erogenous zone which then sends messages to the nerve and the
Speaker:spinal cord which send the message to create an erection.
Speaker:That's the reflex. Number three is psychogenic, or mental which
Speaker:you can send messages from the brain which then send signal
Speaker:down to the penis for an erection. And the fourth is the
Speaker:most common one during sexual arousal is the combination of
Speaker:both psychogenic and reflex, or touching, which is the most
Speaker:powerful of all. So knowing that, guys, you just need to
Speaker:remember to be present, be aroused, be aware. Don't
Speaker:overthink it. When you overthink it, you're gonna talk yourself
Speaker:your erection. Oftentimes, just go with the flow. Go what's
Speaker:going on. Enjoy the moment. Oftentimes, you're enjoying the
Speaker:moment. You're not thinking about what the what if or what's
Speaker:gonna happen. So four different type of erection, optimize it
Speaker:relax and overall, guys, it's all about the four pillars of
Speaker:maintaining your sexual health. It is following the
Speaker:Mediterranean diet, exercise 30 minutes, three to five times a
Speaker:week if you can, get a good night's sleep, and decrease your
Speaker:stress. How do you decrease your stress through exercise, through
Speaker:stopping the screen before you go to bed, through socializing
Speaker:with your family and being present for your partner. Those
Speaker:are simple things that will go a long way. Research has shown
Speaker:that diet and exercise alone work even better than Viagra.
Speaker:Because if you're taking that medicine, Viagra in your body,
Speaker:you're going to screw up the whole entire natural processes,
Speaker:how your body produce an erection. Remember in the last
Speaker:episode I talked about mother nature's way of wanting for you
Speaker:to have an erection and taking care of you and optimizing you
Speaker:to have an erection. Don't ruin it. Okay, continue that process,
Speaker:nurture your body, take care of your body. It will take care of
Speaker:you. Take care of your body, take care of your heart, and
Speaker:that will take care of your sex life as well. I'm telling you,
Speaker:I've seen this work in thousands of men that I work with.
Speaker:Simplicity works. Simplicity matters. Don't over complicate
Speaker:things. There is no shiny object. You have to do the work.
Speaker:If you want your sex life back, you have to do the work. There's
Speaker:no easy button as a pill that's going to fix that, because
Speaker:that's a short term thing, because in the long term it is
Speaker:not going to work.
