As I record this preview, we are in the midst of producing our conversations with a prison chaplain in Florida; a mother who journeyed through a restorative circle process after her husband was killed; and an individual who founded a restorative justice program while incarcerated.
I can’t wait to share their powerful stories with you, as well as the many other impressive guests who will join us in Season 2.
We'll hear from advocates, organizers, educators, and legal actors who are working to create voluntary and safe processes that bring together those affected by harm. Processes that allow all participants to understand the impacts of the harmful action — and what is needed to make things right.
I assure you, you won’t want to miss an episode!
In Catholic Mobilizing Network’s work to end the death penalty, we are frequently asked how we endure through continued executions and a criminal legal system so rife with injustice. What I, and my colleagues will tell you is that, along with the Grace of God, we are sustained by the relationships we are privileged to form. Relationships with people like you who are listening, learning and praying with us. And relationships with people you’ll hear on this podcast - whose faith and fortitude are building a world that is more healed and more whole. Each one is a light in the darkness - upholding dignity, transforming lives, and inspiring others to do the same.
So, as we eagerly anticipate the release of brand new episodes, first, make sure you’re subscribed to Encounters With Dignity on your favorite podcast platform, and that you have your podcast notifications turned on. That way, you’ll be the first to know when new episodes drop.

In my daily work to support education, advocacy, and prayer that advances restorative justice, I think the most life-giving aspect is conversations with the people who are making this vision a reality. Here, on Encounters with Dignity, it is a blessing and honor to share some of their stories with you. I pray that it may encourage you to bring this reconciling approach to your community, churches and everyday lives in the new year!
