Immigration opponents criticize nearly most, if not all, programs that help immigrants in the United States - no matter the reasons supporting them.
Like Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Syrians.
When Syrian immigrants were granted an extension of their TPS status for 18 months until September 2022, the boo birds quickly pounced on the announcement.
Their arguments, as usual, asserted the extension was an implied form of amnesty.
They're wrong.
Rather, the extension is based on the U.S. role as the leader of the free world.
