Speaker A:He contributes a lot to the podcast.
Speaker A:So we appreciate it, man.
Speaker A:But, yeah, like we're doing this month is Laugh so Hard I spilled My Popcorn month.
Speaker A:So we got some comedies coming.
Speaker A:Some, ironically enough, ridiculous comedies that are coming in a lot of.
Speaker A:And to kick off this lovely, silly, goofy, funny month is the Ridiculous 6.
Speaker A: ,: Speaker A:It was written by Tim Hurley and Adam Sandler.
Speaker A:It was directed by Frank Karachi.
Speaker A:It stars Adam Sandler, Terry Crews, Jorge Garcia, Taylor Lautner, Rob Schneider, Luke Wilson, Will Forte, Steve's on Jesus.
Speaker A:This list is long.
Speaker A:Harvey Keitel, John Lovett's Whitney Cummings, Danny Trejo, David Spade, Nick Swartzen, Blake Shelton, Vanilla Ice Julie Jones and Nick Noi.
Speaker A:Did I say Harvey Kaito?
Speaker A:Yeah, because he's in there too.
Speaker A:Jesus, that list was long.
Speaker A:It's good to have friends like Adam Sandler does, I guess.
Speaker B:Real.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:No.
Speaker A:So it's about an outlaw who's raised by native Americans.
Speaker A:Discovers that he has half, five half brothers.
Speaker A:Together the men go on a mission to find their wayward, wayward deadbeat dad.
Speaker A:Okay, that'll work, I guess.
Speaker A:All right, Alec, this show was yours, buddy.
Speaker A:Tell me why you picked this one.
Speaker B:That synopsis does not do this movie justice.
Speaker B:In this.
Speaker B:I picked this movie because it's, it's a, it's Adam Sandler.
Speaker B:And when Adam Sandler gets it right.
Speaker B:You mentioned it in the intro with, with his friend that he has.
Speaker B:You already have a star studded cast and so even your one off characters are just played by phenomenal actors and actresses.
Speaker B:And then to top it all off, the chance to work with this many people is going to get you a yes from just about anybody.
Speaker B:And so like by the time you get around to vanilla Isis, Mark Twain in this, you're just, you don't have a snack and popcorn left, it's been spilled.
Speaker B:And so when he gets it right, when Adam Sandler gets it right, it is phenomenal because of the crew he can bring in.
Speaker B:When he gets it wrong, he gets a real wrong.
Speaker B:But I mean, yeah, when he gets it right though, it turns into this and I just die laughing the entire movie.
Speaker B:And so it's like the, it's, it's a weird kind of thing because I was looking over our list and we either picked something that relies on an all star cast or relies on just incredible content.
Speaker B:And this is kind of splitting in between where you have a well known cast, but the, the stunts, not the stunts, but the kind of sets that they go through.
Speaker B:And just the sketch comedy top to bottom where you have these little sequences that are in there are just pure gold.
Speaker B:And then you throw in the ridiculous aspect, right?
Speaker B:Which is Adam Sandler Native American training and just rolling like a goddamn tumbleweed.
Speaker A:It's a mystical shit.
Speaker B:Just over and over again is pure gold.
Speaker B:And so when we got the topic, I was like, I know, I know exactly what movies I'm picking.
Speaker A:That's hilarious.
Speaker B:And this one was locked and loaded from the very beginning.
Speaker A:Yeah, I'll be honest with you, dude, this is like the second time I've seen this and it's the first time I watched it from start to finish because it is not my typical style of Comedy, like, this is, like, way outside the realm of, like, my normal.
Speaker A:And I, it's weird because, like you said, Adam Sandler is so hit and miss.
Speaker A:Like, I love Adam Sandler.
Speaker A:I think he's made some of the funniest movies I've ever seen.
Speaker A:But to your point, he's also made some of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:And I can go down and I can list both sides of that real quick, and it doesn't take a lot.
Speaker A:And I, I, I think this one's unique, having now watched it all the way through, because it straddles that line to me.
Speaker A:Like, there's some absolute comedic gold in this.
Speaker A:Like, and some of it's, like, silly and stupid and is not my normal cup of tea.
Speaker A:But when it hit me, it hit me hard.
Speaker A:Like, the, the freaking lady after the dude's wife, after he.
Speaker A:She swipes Terry Crews as from the piano, she comes down with his fake beard on.
Speaker A:I don't know why that got me, but that got me.
Speaker A:Like, I was laughing my ass off.
Speaker A:And then, like, the whole thing with the, the big dude with Herm where he can't talk, like, every time he gets going.
Speaker A:And seriously, dude, when Adam Saylor did his mystical to, like, be able to translate what he's saying near the end of the movie, oh, my God, dude.
Speaker A:Like, that should.
Speaker A:Shouldn't be funny.
Speaker A:But I was dying, so.
Speaker A:And there's a lot of, like.
Speaker A:And I think one thing that Adam Sandler always does well, regardless is he has comedy, whether you like it or not, that's really strong.
Speaker A:But he also ties it in with, like, some pretty heartwarming, right?
Speaker A:Like, some, like, good feel good stuff.
Speaker A:Like, almost all of his movies that are his movies, not movies that he's in that he's, you know, doing for somebody else.
Speaker A:But his movies, as goofy and silly and outlandish as they can be, always come back to, like, a really good moment.
Speaker A:You know what I mean?
Speaker A:Like, these brothers now have a family and they're.
Speaker A:It's so silly, but it's, like, heartwarming.
Speaker A:You can't help but feel good about it.
Speaker A:So that's one thing that I always will give him credit for, is it doesn't matter how bad that movie is, there's gonna be a moment that you're like, oh, that's good.
Speaker A:I like that.
Speaker A:That feels good.
Speaker A:That feels more.
Speaker A:I'm all warm and fuzzy.
Speaker A:And now and then they'll ruin it by doing something else that's dumb.
Speaker A:And I'm like, oh, God, now we're back.
Speaker A:But it's it.
Speaker A:But this movie straddles the line really well.
Speaker A:Like, there's moments where it goes too far.
Speaker A:Like the donkey spraying the out of his ass at like warp speed.
Speaker A:Like, so the moment when he does it knocks the guy back is hilarious, but like.
Speaker A:And then the toy one at the very end, that shit's hilarious.
Speaker A:But like the first couple, I'm like, okay, that's just weird.
Speaker A:But typical Adam Sandler, right?
Speaker A:Like, they, he lands on something and they take it as far as they feel comfortable taking it, which is usually one step too far.
Speaker B:I did have a question though, because I didn't know you'd only seen this twice.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker B:What did you think about the origin of baseball scene?
Speaker B:Oh, God, dude, I love that.
Speaker B:I know you're a big baseball fan.
Speaker B:You play baseball and everything.
Speaker A:Yes, it might be.
Speaker A:It's arguably my favorite scene in the movie.
Speaker A:And especially because you got Turturro just doing tutorial.
Speaker A:You know what I mean?
Speaker A:Like, and again, the cast is outrageous that you can, you know, you've built good relationships with people when you get them to show up for a five minute baseball scene.
Speaker A:You know what I mean?
Speaker A:It just is so stupid.
Speaker A:But it's hilarious.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Oh, I love that scene.
Speaker A:Hysterical.
Speaker A:No, no doubt.
Speaker A:You can't go, yeah, rule.
Speaker B:Yeah, I stole the base.
Speaker A:Yeah, I'm not, I'm not going to get that.
Speaker B:That's.
Speaker A:That' a home runner.
Speaker A:That one's my favorite one because that would be my fat ass.
Speaker A:I'd be like, yeah, I'm not.
Speaker B:Yeah, going over there.
Speaker A:You get, you win.
Speaker B:I'm glad that landed for you because it is one of the best scenes in like any comedy film that I've seen.
Speaker B:Oh, yeah, because it takes.
Speaker B:Baseball just says, how can we make it.
Speaker B:It literally just, how can you make this ridiculous?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Make the origin of America's pastime ridiculous.
Speaker B:And you have this go back and forth where the rules are established and then because he doesn't like to lose, he just keeps changing the rules.
Speaker A:And they're all like things that still stand today.
Speaker A:That's.
Speaker A:Yeah, that's the part I love.
Speaker B:The three strike rule was originally the.
Speaker A:Two strike rule, but I wanted an extra one.
Speaker B:You want an extra one?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I love it.
Speaker B:So just.
Speaker B:It just, it just is ridiculous.
Speaker B:And the movie title and its name is.
Speaker B:It's almost like they had that taped up on the storyboard when they were playing it all out and just said, okay, let's, let's write out the scene now.
Speaker B:How do we make it ridiculous?
Speaker A:Yeah, it's just.
Speaker B:It's so great.
Speaker B:I love it.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And I love to like that the little Asian dude that's in the shortstop position and he's like.
Speaker A:This is.
Speaker A:Yeah, he's like quiet.
Speaker A:Shortstop.
Speaker B:That's your new name forever.
Speaker B:Short Stop.
Speaker A:This is.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker B:It's so ridiculous.
Speaker B:Oh, my gosh.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah.
Speaker B:But I. I'm just cackling the entire time through this movie.
Speaker B:But I. I'll tell you, the performance that shocks me, that seems out of place, but lands pretty well overall is freaking Taylor Lautner.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Like, poor guy, typecast from childhood, pretty much.
Speaker B:And then this is the first time where he just goes all out and he did not look back.
Speaker B:He took his chance.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah.
Speaker B:And so he's the odd man out pretty much in this crew.
Speaker B:Everybody else is very comedian based oriented, you know, history and everything like that.
Speaker B:And dude just comes up and I'm all, see, I got a pretty strong neck.
Speaker A:That scene is stupid as.
Speaker A:But I love it.
Speaker A:It's so bad.
Speaker B:It's terrible.
Speaker B:But at the same time you're just gackling.
Speaker B:But he did a phenomenal job, I think, in his performance overall, playing the village idiot, because it.
Speaker B:It's not.
Speaker B:Not the person you'd ever expect.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:When you see like Taylor Laughton, you're kind of like, oh, you know, I'm gonna get Jacob from Twilight.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Or, you know, Shark Boy from Shark Boy and Lava Girl or whatever it may be.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And he just.
Speaker B:He just uncorked all the stops and went for it.
Speaker B:And it is so good.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:He did not mess around.
Speaker A:And I. Yeah, he.
Speaker A:And then again, back to what Sandler does is like using him, the most ridiculous person in this movie, to be like the catalyst with writing the letters to mom.
Speaker A:And like, it's great because you take.
Speaker B:Care of all the exposition.
Speaker A:Yeah, exactly.
Speaker A:You get the.
Speaker A:The only thing that would have been goofier is if the dude that can't talk did it.
Speaker A:Like, you know what I mean?
Speaker A:Like, there's your exposition.
Speaker A:But yeah, I mean, it's like the other scene that gets me is like, is all the scenes with the other ridiculous six, like the Left Eye crew or whatever.
Speaker A:Dude.
Speaker A:And again, like a serious smorgasbord of comedians.
Speaker A:Like Steve Zahn to me is one of the funniest men alive.
Speaker A:Oh, he loves these on no questions asked.
Speaker A:One of the funny, like, people ask me, who do you think One of the funniest movie comedian.
Speaker A:He's at the top of the list for me every time.
Speaker A:Because he.
Speaker A:Because he can do it all.
Speaker A:And so, like, watching him with this lazy eye and, like, trying to be like, I can't dig it out, but I can't see.
Speaker A:I'm nearly blind in this one.
Speaker A:So it would make more sense to, like.
Speaker A:And then when he finds out that they actually didn't carve their eyes out, dude, I can't.
Speaker A:Like, it's.
Speaker A:And he just screams, oh, my God.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So everything that they're in, and then, like, their heads are.
Speaker A:They're bare to their necks and they.
Speaker B:Each have a different animal.
Speaker B:Like.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:All over him.
Speaker A:And then the crows pecking at.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah, dude.
Speaker A:Hilarious.
Speaker A:Those guys made me giggle.
Speaker A:And Lavelle Crawford, again, it is one of the funniest stand up comedians.
Speaker A:Like, he's got a couple.
Speaker A:I'm a huge stand up comedian fan.
Speaker A:And he's got one of the funniest bits where he talks about his mom taking him to the store.
Speaker A:And like, the conversation that he has before, if you haven't seen it, you got to watch his stand up hilarious.
Speaker A:His big old black dude.
Speaker A:Oh, my God.
Speaker B:I don't think I've seen it.
Speaker B:I think I've seen some of his stuff because he's also talks about, like, church, right?
Speaker B:Yeah, he does a bit about, like, white folks.
Speaker B:Church versus black folks.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Okay, so I've seen some of his stuff.
Speaker B:I haven't seen that specifically that specific bit.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And then he.
Speaker A:His other one that gets me is his, like, little white friend when he goes over to his white friend's house.
Speaker A:Oh, dude.
Speaker A:And he's like, his mom yells at him, you gotta clean your room.
Speaker A:And he's like, I started thinking white moms about the same as black moms.
Speaker A:Then he goes to the.
Speaker A:Billy was like, listen here, woman.
Speaker A:And he's like, you can get me killed.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Lavelle Crawford is hysterical.
Speaker A:Anybody that can do stand up and say, if you ever don't ever.
Speaker A:Piece of advice.
Speaker A:Don't ever get into your mama.
Speaker A:Battle with your mama.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Beautiful.
Speaker A:And I honestly, like, I said I'd seen pieces of the movie, like chunks of it at a time, but never all the way through.
Speaker A:I didn't know Lavelle Crawford was in it until this piece because I never seen the scenes with him.
Speaker A:So he pops up in the.
Speaker A:At the beginning, I'm like, oh, that's Lavelle Crawford.
Speaker A:I was like, this is gonna be great.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:But it's.
Speaker B:It's crazy because he gets lost in the cast.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And it's.
Speaker B:It's almost like everybody outside of your main six gets lost in the cast.
Speaker B:But even Rob Schneider is like the.
Speaker B:The outside guy.
Speaker B:So you really have, like, five that are just.
Speaker B:You can differentiate.
Speaker B:Everybody blends in.
Speaker B:Like Steve Buscemi.
Speaker B:I was dying because it's.
Speaker B:They went hard into the, you know, like, hand washing and sanitization isn't the thing yet.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Same finger going everywhere.
Speaker B:And it's just so nonchalant.
Speaker B:This is same like ointment cream for everything.
Speaker B:You fix it all.
Speaker B:Cure.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Seasonal.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:After he shoved it in the one dude's mouth and up the burrow's ass.
Speaker B:And then uses a shaving cream.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:It's amazing.
Speaker B:So just going back and forth the entire time.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And it.
Speaker B:It's.
Speaker B:It's one of the better scenes because it's.
Speaker B:He's just there and you're kind of.
Speaker B:You're just laughing because it's.
Speaker B:It's not just anybody doing it.
Speaker B:Steve Buscemi doing it.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And that's what makes it funny.
Speaker A:Oh, for sure.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:You gotta have the.
Speaker A:If you're gonna do ridiculous like this, you gotta have people that can pull it off.
Speaker A:Whether.
Speaker A:Whether people end up liking it or not or they think it's stupid.
Speaker A:Whatever it is, it's never gonna work if you get somebody that just doesn't.
Speaker A:That can't do it.
Speaker A:And Buscemi is one of the greatest at doing weird.
Speaker A:The other scene that gets me ever, like, and I'd seen this one before is after they go to Carta or Harvey Keitel's place and they kill him or whatever.
Speaker A:And then they're sitting around the fire doing the songs and all the funny songs.
Speaker A:Like, dude, that scene kills me.
Speaker A:Especially after, like, Adam Sandler goes.
Speaker A:And everybody's sad.
Speaker A:And, like, the first thing, he goes, hey, Herm, do the headless guy.
Speaker A:Because, like, it's so relatable.
Speaker A:And I think that's where Sandler's comedy works the most, is that he always makes things relatable in some way, no matter how stupid and silly or goofy and off the map this might be.
Speaker A:It's relatable for people to be sitting around.
Speaker A:Like, friends be sitting around having a conversation, having a good time.
Speaker A:Somebody doesn't mean to, but brings the freaking energy down.
Speaker A:And then somebody's got to be like, wait, go do this, because we gotta get the energy back up.
Speaker A:Like, it's just so relatable to see him.
Speaker A:And then he hops up and it's funny.
Speaker A:The Way he does it anyway, like shooting and with the head, the coats.
Speaker A:Oh, God, it's great.
Speaker A:He's my favorite character in this movie, by the way.
Speaker A:Herm.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker B:Dude kills it.
Speaker A:Oh, my God.
Speaker B:It's hard to even recognize.
Speaker A:I didn't know I had to look it up.
Speaker A:I was like, who the is this?
Speaker A:Oh, that's Door.
Speaker A:Oh, my God.
Speaker A:Yeah, it was great.
Speaker A:I was like.
Speaker A:All I know from was Lost, so it's like, man, dude's got some range.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Oh, it was 100.
Speaker A:I was dying, dude.
Speaker A:Every time he does something, like.
Speaker A:And the first time he does the headless thing almost fell out of my chair, dude.
Speaker A:Like, especially because it's right after they're all like, oh, you know, he's just like, So good, dude.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So many weird things that I just wasn't prepared for.
Speaker A:That usually won't work for me, but in a lot of ways, it worked in this movie.
Speaker B:It's almost crazy because it seems like they went for volume and just decided, like, we're gonna keep it all the way up.
Speaker B:So if a bit ever doesn't land, there's you.
Speaker B:Before you have time to really process it.
Speaker B:Here comes the next one.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And it just does it on a loop.
Speaker B:And so, I mean, again, Ridiculous six, they just kind of just crank that up, open up the fire hose and said, oh, yeah, here you go, and let it fly.
Speaker B:Because, I mean, I have.
Speaker B:I have a hard time going back and thinking about bits that didn't land for me.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:But while watching it, I know there was a few.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker B:But it's not the ones that stick with you.
Speaker B:It's the crazy off the wall ones.
Speaker B:And they do a pretty nice job of changing back and forth with who you're following.
Speaker B:You know, sleeping in the Left Eye Gang.
Speaker B:And then back to Ridiculous 6.
Speaker A:And it's just like the Left Eye gig.
Speaker B:It's just so.
Speaker B:It's ridiculous what it is, but I just crack up the entire time and I. I'm tracking my brain.
Speaker B:I think the only bit that didn't necessarily land with me only reoccurring one would be Rob Schneider's taco tree.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah.
Speaker B:Like, that is the only one that I can think of where it's like, okay, that.
Speaker B:That's not landing.
Speaker B:You know, let's go back to.
Speaker B:Let's go back to Steve's on digging out his eye with a spoon or talking about that experience.
Speaker B:It.
Speaker B:It's more my speed and it just lands better for me.
Speaker A:Yeah, I agree.
Speaker A:I'm I'm trying to.
Speaker A:It's funny because I'm trying to think of, like, one that didn't land for me at all outside the donkey or the burrow.
Speaker A:I think.
Speaker A:Yeah, I can't really think of one off top of my head.
Speaker A:I do think what got me gets me at the beginning of the movie though, too.
Speaker A:And, like, I hadn't seen.
Speaker A:Like I said I hadn't.
Speaker A:I'd watched chunks of it, not the whole thing.
Speaker A:So, like, the opening scene where you're introduced to Sandler's character and he's in the, you know, the native camp or whatever and, like, hilariously, like, with the girl.
Speaker A:And Julie Jones is.
Speaker A:Oh, my God, gorgeous.
Speaker A:Anyway, she's like.
Speaker A:I'm pretty obsessed with her.
Speaker A:I think she's very attractive.
Speaker A:Anyway, like, it's almost Blazing Saddles esque, only with indigenous.
Speaker A:You know what I mean?
Speaker A:Like, and I'm like.
Speaker A:Because they're using all the typical stereotypes across the board to, like, really make it visible.
Speaker A:And I was laughing.
Speaker A:I was like, oh, yeah, this is very Blazing Shadows, which is my kind of comedy, where you're making fun of people.
Speaker A:Stupidity and shitty behavior and people.
Speaker A:And it's funny because the people that had the same shitty behavior aren't gonna find it funny.
Speaker B:No.
Speaker A:And then the people that are, like, super duper offended when they're saying that this is bad behavior.
Speaker A:You shouldn't do this.
Speaker A:It's satire on the fact that we're terrible human beings sometimes.
Speaker A:They don't find it all funny.
Speaker A:They get all up in arms.
Speaker A:It's so offensive.
Speaker A:And I'm like, no knuckle.
Speaker A:They're saying that you shouldn't be like this.
Speaker A:So I love comedy like that because, again, it's very intelligent.
Speaker A:So the first 20 minutes of this movie cracks my up.
Speaker A:Like.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And the fact that he's like, White Knife and, like, it just, like, it's so on the nose and like, Foxy.
Speaker B:Smoking Fox.
Speaker A:Smoking Fox.
Speaker A:Like, their names are, like, so ridiculously on point.
Speaker A:It's just like, this is so good.
Speaker A:And somebody's going, that's just so offensive.
Speaker A:And I'm like, no heads.
Speaker A:It's funny because there's actual people that would do like that.
Speaker A:You know what I mean?
Speaker A:Like, that would be a joke.
Speaker A:Oh, look, it's smoking.
Speaker A:Like, you know what I mean?
Speaker A:Anyway, I. I find that.
Speaker A:I found that scene very, very hilarious.
Speaker A:Oh, there's a lot of those in this, I think, that are subtle like that.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:100.
Speaker B:And it just.
Speaker B:It adds overall.
Speaker B:So you don't have the constant kind of well called Monty Python comedy, which is just high energy all the time.
Speaker B:Next bit, move on, keep it going.
Speaker B:And you don't have the.
Speaker B:So you have a good mix between that high energy.
Speaker B:But then take it back a little bit and like you were talking about the beginning, you have this heartwarming moment that's kind of wrapped in comedy.
Speaker B:And so it, it, it flows really nice and it doesn't take itself or it doesn't.
Speaker B:It's not afraid to back off a little bit and change direction or change a scene and move on to something else before ramping up again.
Speaker A:Yeah, exactly.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:It's really smart comedy, which is not always the case with Santa.
Speaker A:Sometimes he's too smart for his own good and it turns into really stupid comedy again.
Speaker A:Like Little Nikki Hell, what a terrible movie.
Speaker A:Just like.
Speaker A:Yeah, that's always what I think of.
Speaker A:Someone says, what's.
Speaker A:What's Adam Sandler's worst movie?
Speaker A:I think that might be it.
Speaker A:In my opinion though, Jack and Jill was pretty bad.
Speaker A:I was gonna say Jackie Joe's rough.
Speaker A:The one that I. Yeah.
Speaker A:Anyway, he's got so many good ones though too.
Speaker A:Like, I love the one, the one with him and where he's the.
Speaker A:They're the, the firefighters, I think, and they pretend to be gay so that they can get benefits for one of the guys or something.
Speaker B:Oh, is it Larry?
Speaker A:Chuck and Larry?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:That movie's hysterical.
Speaker A:That's so underrated to me because it's like, again, it hits all the stereotypes and the shitty things on the nose that you're like, jesus, this is great.
Speaker A:So, yeah.
Speaker A:And then like things that click.
Speaker A:He's got so many good movies like Click to Me's maybe peak Adam Sandler besides like his first two movies.
Speaker A:But yeah, like the modern Adam Sandler.
Speaker A:That's the one.
Speaker A:I always, I'm like, click.
Speaker A:Is it because that movie, there's not a moment in that movie that I'm not.
Speaker A:I almost put it on this list, but I was like, we can't have two Adam Sandlers on here.
Speaker A:But it was.
Speaker A:Yeah, it was funny.
Speaker A:I love Click.
Speaker A:Hilarious.
Speaker A:But yeah, it's.
Speaker A:I was glad to see some of the.
Speaker A:And again, what I was really.
Speaker A:It's funny because since Sandler got his little contract with Netflix, this probably is the most successful of that in my mind.
Speaker A:Because even Happy Gilmore too, like Casey and I watched it and I was.
Speaker B:Like, yeah, it was okay.
Speaker A:I mean, it had moments.
Speaker A:And it's not fair because you compare it directly to one of the funniest movies ever made, period.
Speaker A:Because that, because it.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Happy Gilmore, the original one.
Speaker A:Oh my God, what a movie.
Speaker A:But two was an old school Sandler.
Speaker A:It was, it was New School Sandler, which is different.
Speaker A:Still funny, but very different.
Speaker A:But this movie, this movie had a little bit of both, right?
Speaker A:Had the full cast.
Speaker A:That's New School Sandler.
Speaker A:You can get all these people to come do stuff with him because he's just that guy.
Speaker A:And then some of the silliness and the over the top.
Speaker A:But then like.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So it's a good blend, I think of New School Sandler and Old School Sandler.
Speaker A:So I liked it.
Speaker A:Should we rate it?
Speaker B:Let's do it.
Speaker A:All right, boss, you're right.
Speaker B:Movie.
Speaker B:I'm gonna give it four.
Speaker A:Nice.
Speaker B:It's.
Speaker B:It's a little higher than it probably should get, but I, I'm going for.
Speaker B:Because it's just crack.
Speaker B:It's just crack up movie.
Speaker B:And it, it has an all star cast that gathers around really good content.
Speaker B:And there's, it's, it's crazy where you can have a movie with so many.
Speaker B:We'll call A and B list stars in it where there's nobody stepping on it the other's toes.
Speaker B:And they all kind of fit in their role really, really well.
Speaker B:And so it's, it's just something that I, I'll sit down and watch pretty much anytime just because it's an enjoyable watch.
Speaker B:So, yeah, I'm gonna give it four.
Speaker A:Nice.
Speaker A:I'm gonna give it a three and a half.
Speaker A:I was bouncing between three and three and a half.
Speaker A:I, I think when it hits, it hits so good that I can't deny that it's funny.
Speaker A:Do I think it has some moments where I'm like, okay, you, you needed to let that one go for a second.
Speaker A:I needed a little more time in between seeing those and things like that.
Speaker A:Like, you know, again, I think one of the worst things that happened to Sandler is he was given so much free reign because of what he does and how successful he is.
Speaker A:And it still works for him, but it's like, just tone that down just a touch and you'll be back to prime, you know, Sandler.
Speaker A:But it's still funny.
Speaker A:There's still moments where I find myself, in spite of my, myself and my desire to not laugh at this movie, laughing my ass off this movie.
Speaker A:And so I think it was, it was a surprise for me because I kind of avoided it because I was like, I don't know.
Speaker A:Straight to Netflix.
Speaker A:Sandler On a roll.
Speaker A:Like, Adam.
Speaker A:Not sure about this, but, yeah, I'm glad I finally watched it all the way through because I had a hell of good time watching Terry Crews.
Speaker A:Like, you guys are the first ones I told.
Speaker A:I was half black.
Speaker B:Feels good to get it off my chest.
Speaker A:I just love those moments, right, where you're like, oh, my God, this is so good.
Speaker A:So, yeah, three and a half for me, I think it would be a minute that I would watch it.
Speaker A:Like, I'd watch pieces of it anytime, right?
Speaker A:But I don't know that I'd sit down and watch it front to back unless somebody was like, I just love this movie.
Speaker A:Let's watch it.
Speaker A:Okay, sure.
Speaker A:But I think it would be a minute before I watch the whole thing straight through.
Speaker A:So, yeah, good choice.
Speaker A:Way to kick us off.
Speaker A:And why don't you take a couple minutes, tell everybody where they can find us when they're not watching this episode.
Speaker B:Happy to.

Speaker B:It's funny enough that you are throwing your snack up in the air while you're laughing.
