The Foundation of the SGP: core values and concepts unique to this resource
- Ephesians 2:10
- Specific to the indiviudal, very personalized
- We can ask God for guidance in our life
- Mindset change towards our spiritual life
- Setting daily limitations within context of spiritual priorities
- Spiritual growth is the guiding force of all other aspects of life
- Takes a few years to fully grasp the SGP, mindset changes take time
- Our mind is transformed by the Lord over time when we seek Him out diligently
- We are all truly capable of living in the center of God’s purposes for our life if we let Him guide us
- The evaluation process is a game changer
- The Christian walk is a full integration of Christ into our entire lives
- The priority list mindset is changed, Christ desires to be first, foremost and preeminent in every aspect of life, not just at the top of the list of priorities
- It’s not a formula, but it’s an effective method to foster practical and Biblical disciplines to grow in Christ
- It’s not about perfection or completion, it’s about planning for God’s plan as He reveals it to you, it’s a marker and an indicator of His faithfulness and strong working hand even amid my faithlessness and weaknesses
- Cultivates humility, praise and thankfulness to God for His faithfulness to finish the work He started in us
What would you say is the heart and the goal of the SGP?
- Knowing what to focus on spiritually through a prayerfully guided process
- Not just hoping God shows you, but asking Him and expecting Him to actually show you what He wants you to grow in then doing it
- It’s not easy and it cannot be done for you, but if you are willing to seek after His will for your next year of life, try it and see what comes from this mindset shift
- When you start the SGP and are pushed to make some changes from the Spirit, you will feel uncomfortable and overwhelmed, but if you desire to grow are willing to let Him come in and do the work in you, He will
- “Consider the cost”
- Warnings and caution if you choose to take this journey
- Once you start making choices and changes based on prioritizing your spiritual growth, you may lose relationships and levels of friendships who now can’t relate to your growth
- The approach to the average planners is “let me fill up this planner with all of my plans” but the approach to the SGP is “Lord, here’s my 2024, please fill it up with your works and purposes you already have planned for me, I know you already know the limitations that you’ve asked me to steward in my life, but I also know you’ve got a lot planned for me and I don't want to miss a thing, show me”
- It’s not just to help you be organized, it’s for the Lord to have all of your life
Come back next week for Part 2 with all the info to get access to the SGP resource!
