Which if anybody is wondering, like this actually is very accurate for our group chat where Ashley and I are just like, what? And then Kelsey and Nicole are going off about some random, like horrific story.
Nicole (:giddy.
Kelsie (:very, yeah.
Nicole (:Yeah.
Kelsie (:There was one
Ashley (:Welcome to A Little Bit Bothered. We're the podcast where every weird rant, random story and spicy opinion from our group chat gets served up for your entertainment. I'm Ashley.
Monica (:and I'm Monica, we might not have it all together, but we sure have opinions about literally everything.
Kelsie (:Kelsey and trust me if you've ever gotten way too worked up over the dumbest stuff you're in the right place we've got you covered
Nicole (:and I'm Nicole, so sit back, relax, or yell at the car radio, whatever works for you. Let's get into what's bothering us this week because you know, there's always something. Always, always. So what's going on?
Ashley (:always always something.
Monica (:guys this week.
Nicole (:I'm good. Good. We went, we saw the Yam Queen. We're Yes, the Yam royalty. I love the Yam royalties.
Ashley (:I'm good too.
Yeah, the yam queen and the yam duchess.
Monica (:freaking yam queen.
Yeah, so for you guys listening, if you missed last week's episode, Nicole's entire town like pauses life to celebrate yams for a week.
Nicole (:Yes, yes we do. We love you. Iconic. It's a moment. I love it. The dresses are so pretty. The girls get so excited. I know it's so funny. I am a lot of it bothered by the fact that I was wrong about my predictions for Love is Blind last week. just housekeeping really quick on that because our episode came out the day after.
Ashley (:Iconic.
Kelsie (:you
Monica (:Such a small town.
Ashley (:Who?
Nicole (:You know, the latest episodes and then this episode comes out after the latest episode. So we're obviously a little bit behind, but. I thought Tim and Alex were going to make it work and they did not. He literally said, I never want to see you again. And walked out. He who's sorry, literally only to see her at a party, which hot speak. Speaking of party, speaking of party.
Monica (:Yeah.
Ashley (:Mm-mm. Mm-hmm. Only to see her the next day at a flapper party.
Monica (:The accent and everything.
Ashley (:hahahaha
Monica (:Two days later.
Nicole (:I know the whole drama with the party was like around Taylor and Garrett
with Monica, how she said she talked to Stephen for two hours. I was like, you did what?
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
that was interesting.
Monica (:I'm not surprised by that because their breakup was so abrupt like or at least for what we saw but like on camera and I'm sure that they had a lot that they wanted to talk about that they didn't want aired on camera so I'm actually not surprised by that I'm just like needing to clear the air on everything
Nicole (:I am.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Kelsie (:She was nice, like she was said nice things about him though. I didn't expect that. Like to talk for two hours is one thing, but she's like, he's a good guy. I'm like.
Nicole (:Yeah!
Yeah, and she made it seem like she just got off the phone with him prior to getting to the event. So like, did, what? Excuse me, what's happening? Maybe.
Monica (:I get the vibe.
Ashley (:I think she was worried about her image.
Monica (:Yeah, I really get the vibe though that this season everybody who's on the show is being very conscientious about how they're portrayed. And I actually just had a thought about that because we were talking about how they're in Washington and how a lot of them have like government jobs and things. And I bet you that that is playing a role in some of this of just not.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Kelsie (:But for the most part, I would say that she handled herself like, is she really likable? No, she's not incredibly likable, but she didn't say anything that I think would put her at true jeopardy. And then especially with his shenanigans, I think it cleared the air for her. So I'm surprised she felt she needed to like, do anything.
Monica (:She did, sure.
Nicole (:I thought she did great, yeah.
Ashley (:Mm-mm.
Monica (:Yeah.
Nicole (:Honestly, that's one segment of the reunion that I cannot wait to see. I cannot wait to see. I need to know. I need it. I really do.
Monica (:Yeah, I don't think that she needed to, but...
Ashley (:Yes, I'm curious to see it too. I need details. I hope they get into the nitty gritty.
Monica (:Yes. Yes, I am very curious. Yes, I will say this season has far less like memes and TikToks and things as last year except for Steven. Except for, yes, it is boring, but Steven's the only one that's had like some funny ones. That's it. That's it. I know. I wish they were more entertaining.
Kelsie (:Because it's boring. Because it's boring as fuck.
Nicole (:Yeah, cause it's boring.
gosh. I am honestly, I'm so thankful that Hannah and Nick just called it quits because I was fucking sick of her. I was so fucking sick of her. And after, after he met her friends, I was like, this wasn't ambush. This wasn't.
Kelsie (:yeah.
Ashley (:I couldn't listen to her say another fucking word.
Monica (:that was such an ambush.
Ashley (:Yeah, they attacked him.
Nicole (:I was like. Which like, yeah, your friends are supposed to like kind of do that for your significant other, but like, I feel like she probably talked to her friends ahead of time and was like, I don't fucking know about this guy, like he is this, this, this, this, you know what mean? Like all the bad things and.
Monica (:Mm-hmm.
Yes. Yeah.
Ashley (:It was over before that, yeah.
Monica (:I think that was her last ditch attempt of like, they're gonna grill him and we're gonna see what comes out and he's either gonna say the right answers or he doesn't. And like, that was it. That was the determining factor. Which I think she had probably already decided anyways, but it was just one last attempt.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:Yeah, that was it. Yeah.
yeah.
Kelsie (:I think one of the problems with this season and it was kind of a problem last season too is that originally they made them go to the altar no matter what. Like you didn't you couldn't break up. I and I don't they never say that but people have come out and said like you sign a thing saying you if you propose you have to go to the altar but it seems like they've loosened up and now they are allowing them to break up which I mean is kind of it kind of
Nicole (:Mm-hmm.
Monica (:interesting.
Nicole (:Yeah.
You'll get to the altar, yeah. Yeah.
Ashley (:Mmm. Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:It does.
Kelsie (:The whole point of the experiment is going from the beginning until the end, sticking it out through the fights until the altar to see if you can make it work. And they're all bailing and breaking up before they ever get there. And it's just like ruins the whole point of the show. And I realized they're like, they're done and maybe it's better for their mental health. I don't know, but that's not the point of the show. And I think it makes it suck when you don't, when there's literally only like two couples that make it to the
Monica (:Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:Mm-hmm.
Right, right.
Monica (:Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:Yeah.
Kelsie (:altered like who gives a fuck if they both say yes or no. It takes the fun out of it.
Nicole (:Yeah, I was gonna say at this point, at this point we only have like, think right now we still have three couples that are quote unquote going to the altar. We'll see what happens. I guess the next one is the weddings. It would be the wedding. So I guess we'll see.
Ashley (:Yeah.
Monica (:Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Ashley (:Three.
Yeah.
Monica (:Yeah, the wedding's in the reunion.
Kelsie (:They need to stop letting them break up unless there's like something crazy happens. need to stop. Like I think Monica should have been allowed to break up with him. I think that was like a line, but everything else like Hannah and Nick and their little petty bullshit. No, stick it out to the end and break up at the altar.
Nicole (:I agree. That was, yeah, that was a line.
Ashley (:Yeah.
Nicole (:Nah, I agree. He should have embarrassed the fuck out of her at the altar. Yeah, I agree. Over a nap. He was like, I never want to see you again over her over her being tired. Like his family had definitely had to have said something to him. After or something, we won't. Yeah, we really do. I actually I have four pages of notes about something to tell you, so.
Monica (:Ha ha ha.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Kelsie (:Ty, Tim and Alex fucking break up at the altar, like.
Monica (:Mm-hmm.
Kelsie (:Yeah, no, it's dumb.
Ashley (:you
Monica (:Mm-hmm.
Kelsie (:I promise we're not going to talk about this the whole episode guys, we have other things to talk about.
Monica (:Yeah.
Yeah. Okay, well then what else is going on for you guys? Ashley, Kelsey, what's going on for you? fun.
Nicole (:Well, we're gonna get to it. We're gonna get to it.
Ashley (:We're going to a pumpkin patch this afternoon. Mm-hmm, so that'll be fun. And it's actually like fall weather here in Arizona today, so it's like the perfect day for a pumpkin patch.
Nicole (:Cute!
Monica (:I did.
as in everybody else's spring. is our second spring.
Ashley (:Yeah, it's 70s, which is beautiful.
Nicole (:Yeah. It was actually hot for us today.
Kelsie (:Yeah, it's like, it's really nice today. It's been nice all week, but, no. I haven't had a very good week. I've had quite the bad week actually. So, let's see.
Monica (:Yes, it is.
Nicole (:That is, yeah.
We're having... Yeah. I'm sorry, Mikelce. It happens. I'm so sorry.
Monica (:Mmm.
Ashley (:That's terrible.
it does.
Monica (:Well, I have, I have, I have something I need you guys to debate with me for a second. So first of all, Halloween decorations, like I, I love them, but I also always feel like every year it's like such this rush of trying to get everything up as quickly as you can just to take it down. And we still have some decorations that we've been trying to make. And here's the problem. So while we were on our trip in Colorado, my husband decided to try to surprise me and make some Halloween decorations for our front yard.
Ashley (:Can do.
Nicole (:The graveyard.
Monica (:So he's making tombstones. Yeah, the graveyard, which like honestly, like they're gonna look good. I don't even know what material he's using. It's like some kind of foam type board. I don't know what it is, but he's like carving it, shaving it and stuff. And like, I think they're gonna look good. But here's the problem I'm having, cause he's put me on the job where I have to like stencil it and then he will carve out whatever we're gonna write on the tombstone, right?
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Monica (:and I've been stalling all week and feeling this rush, because I'm like, it's already like the 19th or whatever day it is. Like Halloween's basically here, what's the point? But I also want to finish this project. So what he wants to do, or actually rather what he said the kids came up with, what they decided they wanted to do is to put their names on the tombstone. And I have a lot of feelings about that. And he's like, they think it's fun, it's fine. I'm like.
Ashley (:Halloween's here, yeah.
Nicole (:Yeah. Yeah.
No. No.
Ashley (:No. Vetoed. Absolutely not.
Nicole (:No. Bad juju.
Monica (:No, I don't want to see their names on a tombstone So I've been sitting here trying to like Google funny names and convince my kids all week long of how there's so many better things Which on the tombstone and they just want to see their name and I think it is so horrible
Ashley (:Mm-mm.
Nicole (:Bad dude you.
No, nope. Tell them they're not allowed. Tell them all of their aunties said no. Uh-uh. They're not allowed. James, no. Get it together, James.
Ashley (:Yeah. No.
They can't. No, you can't. And James? James? Come on. Come on. How dare he be on board with this?
Kelsie (:No.
Monica (:Although, Ferranti said no.
Like, I kept trying to think through, like, okay, am I the one overreacting about this? But I am legit more than a little bit bothered by it. I'm like, I don't want to see their names on a tombstone. Not okay. Right?
Nicole (:Yeah, this is... No, this is mortifying. No. I hate it. Sorry, James. You lose. You were right about Mistborn. You're not right about this.
Ashley (:No.
Monica (:Okay. Okay.
Ashley (:No.
Monica (:So we have a collective decision, okay, to take back. doesn't happen. But, okay. It's a no for us. It's a no. The group chat says no. Okay, so then the other side of this that I'm a little bit bothered about is like, can we just let the holidays breathe a little bit? Why is it that when I went in to go grab some craft stuff for our co-op this week, for Halloween.
Nicole (:Yes. We are bothered by this.
Ashley (:Yes. The jury has deliberated and it's a no. It's a no from the group chat.
Nicole (:Yep.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Monica (:I couldn't even find a single fricking thing and there's no fall stuff, it's just Christmas.
Nicole (:Christmas god, I hate that
Ashley (:The fall stuff, the Halloween decorations are on clearance already. There's already a sale at Walmart on Halloween and all the Christmas shit is like taking over the store. And the Christmas trees were up like really, they started like weeks ago. And it's like, bro, chill out.
Kelsie (:It really pisses me off.
Monica (:Yeah.
Nicole (:It's...
Yeah, same. We had Christmas. It's just earlier and earlier.
Kelsie (:It happened last year too and I remember like I went to go to the store to get something like probably a week before Halloween and it was all already gone and I'm like, what is the point? You can't even keep it out till Halloween. Are you kidding me?
Monica (:Mm-hmm.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm. Yeah.
Nicole (:Yeah.
Monica (:Seriously.
Nicole (:Yeah, like there's no reason Christmas trees should be out like in October. There's no I'm sorry.
Ashley (:Yeah.
Monica (:Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Kelsie (:Don't give a shit if you want to the Christmas trees out, but you make sure the fucking Halloween shit stays till Halloween. If you want to discount it the next day, that's fine.
Monica (:Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:Yeah, okay. I could say, I could see like, you could put it out as in like put the product out. But why do we have so, or why do we have so many displays already? Like let the Halloween displays stay up until after Halloween and then you could put the Christmas tree out on displays. You can have them out in the aisles or have them in the garden section. But like, we don't need to be like, no, it's been, it's been.
Ashley (:You'd think they'd want to.
Monica (:Yeah.
Kelsie (:Put it in the garden section.
and it's.
Monica (:It just... Yeah.
Kelsie (:Well it's not even like it's just now coming out. It's the Christmas stuff has been out for like since the beginning of October.
Monica (:Mm-hmm. And I think the other thing about it that really bothers me is that life already feels so rushed as it is and just time is flying by, right? And so then it's like we don't even get to just slow down and enjoy one season at a time.
Nicole (:Yeah, yeah.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm. Yeah, it's too much.
Nicole (:Yeah.
Yeah.
We don't, and Thanksgiving doesn't even get a moment. Thanksgiving doesn't get a single moment, and that's my favorite. I got, yes you do, I need a Thanksgiving moment. I need cute little turkeys.
Ashley (:Yeah, we can't even breathe.
No. You had your yam festival.
Monica (:No it doesn't. It doesn't.
Kelsie (:Thanksgiving is, we don't need no fucking Thanksgiving moment. I like Thanksgiving, but I don't give a shit about Thanksgiving decorations. Like, I don't give a fuck if they make a spot on the flip. Yeah, yeah.
Ashley (:Neither do I.
Monica (:Yeah, it's true. I mean, it's just fall. It's basically the same. Yeah, just turn around your pumpkins. Yeah, yeah. No, it's true.
Nicole (:I do.
It's fall decorations. Well, that's my point, but that's...
Kelsie (:It goes Christmas, Thanksgiving, Christmas.
Nicole (:But that's my point though, like it should just stay, it should just stay like Halloween and fall all the way till fucking Thanksgiving, till Thanksgiving. And then we can't, you know what I mean? Like it's the fall holiday. Can we just keep it that way?
Ashley (:Christmas.
Kelsie (:You celebrate Christmas until the week.
Monica (:Yeah, till December. Yeah, Thanksgiving.
Kelsie (:Thanksgiving. Yeah. Yeah, I agree. I do agree.
Let it stay Halloween until Halloween and then intermingle Christmas in there between the, yes, with fall. Intermingle, not get rid of one, until Thanksgiving and then you can do the...
Nicole (:With fall, yeah. Fall and Christmas, yeah. Yeah. And then go full blown balls to the walls Christmas.
Monica (:Yeah.
Yes. See, see, we've got it figured out. Solutions here, Yes.
Ashley (:Full send. Yeah.
Nicole (:Yeah, we have solutions.
Kelsie (:I don't understand, really don't, because I can't imagine that anybody out there actually wants it the way it is.
Monica (:No. No.
Nicole (:No, and then...
Ashley (:And why did my kids already get the fucking toy books in the mail to start circling? Yeah, why? The books were circling all the damn toys. Yeah, it's like, bitch, they're not gonna get any toys for two months. Why are you sending me this shit?
Nicole (:the advent calendar? no, the Amazon. Yeah, the Amazon books, yeah.
Monica (:out
No, I've been trying to, I've been trying, I've been in a debate this week with my six year old, literally all freaking weak because he's like, that's what we're getting for Christmas. I'm like, not the whole damn book. Like that's a wish list. And he's like, what's a wish list?
Nicole (:Right, stop getting them riled up.
Ashley (:Literally.
Mm-hmm. Yep. Yep. My son was circling. I think I told you my son was circling stuff and then he's showing me and he's like I ordered this bike and I ordered this bike and I'm like son you didn't order anything Okay, do not expect these items to arrive
Nicole (:Yeah.
Thank God you don't have access to the Amazon carts.
Kelsie (:Hmm
Monica (:my gosh, so funny. Well, let's enjoy spooky season a little bit more. Nicole, you have been teasing us. What is the story?
Nicole (:He's putting in his orders now.
I have a real life spooky story for you, okay? It's because this episode comes out the Thursday, like this one comes out the Thursday before Halloween and then our next episode comes out on actual Halloween. So I figured this one we could do real life scary, not spooky scary, real life scary. You know, those crazy people that we hear about in the news and all the things. And because I love true crime,
Ashley (:Dun dun dun!
Monica (:Hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:My algorithm tends to be heavily like filtered with it. So I was scrolling, boop, boop, boop, scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, I come across a video and the opening of the video, I wish I could find it. I can't find it anymore. Or I would like put it here or like tag the guy at least, give him credit, can't find him. The opening of this video says, have you heard about the lady that killed her parents and then lived with the bodies for four years? And I said, excuse me? I said, I'm sorry, what?
Ashley (:my God.
Nicole (:And I went straight to the Google and I was like, who is this woman? And looked her all up. And I was a little bit nervous that Kelsey was gonna hear about this because she also is true crime heavy. But she hasn't reacted, so I'm gonna assume she doesn't know what the hell I'm talking about, which is great.
Kelsie (:so far it doesn't, a little bit I was like, wait, have I heard this? But I really don't think so, so go ahead.
Nicole (:Okay, great. Okay, okay.
Monica (:I feel like I maybe have heard the topic and then was like, scroll.
Ashley (:I don't think I've heard of it, yeah.
Nicole (:Okay, I'm gonna give you the details. let's set the scene. It is June 2019. We are in Essex, UK. This woman, Virginia McCullough, McCullough, McCullough, I don't know how to say her name, Virginia. She...
Kelsie (:you
Nicole (:moved in with her parents to quote unquote take care of them because they were elderly. They were both in their 70s. Lois and John, I'm gonna say their names because they're the victims and it's important to talk about them and not this horrible person. They were in their 70s, think Lois was like 70 and John was 71 and so he was in poor health, just of old age and Lois actually had like some more mental afflictions.
Ashley (:Mm-mm-mm.
Nicole (:afflictions, I guess. She had like agoraphobia and I want to say she had like severe anxiety. So she needed help and so did the father. They have a total of five kids, all girls, Virginia obviously being one of them. I want to say she's the youngest. She moved in with them and
right from the get-go just started lying to them. She moved in with them to say she was gonna take care of them. Then shortly after that she started telling them that she had cancer. None of that was true. She did not actually have cancer. She was just trying to get like pity parties. And this is like where you start to see her being, her crazy come out, right? So because she's supposed to take care of them, she says, well, let me take care, I'll take care of all the bills and your finances and blah, blah, blah, right?
Well, John was not like out of it, you know, he was capable. And so she takes over the finances and stuff and he starts realizing that there's money missing and you know, things don't look right. And she tells him, no worries, dad, I'll take care of it. And she's like, okay, I figured it out. It's fraud. You guys were afflicted with fraud. A victim of fraud is what I meant to say. And
Lois, she had a pen pal that she would write to and she even told her pen pal like, we've been victims of fraud, but Ginny taking care of it and yada yada. They are not stupid though and they start saying like, when is this gonna be paid back? Because it was like thousands and thousands of dollars of this quote unquote fraud. you know, so she's making excuses, I don't know, like this is all they're telling me, blah,
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:She doesn't like the fact that they're questioning her about the money and for her financial gain, she decides the best course of action is to murder them. So she poisons her father, attempts to poison both of them, but she poisons her father and drugs him with like, I don't, I don't even know. She put something in his drinks and she brought him like four glasses that all had these, this concoction of pills in it to overdose him.
And he only drank about like half of what she brought him and he was out the next day. Poor John. Rest in peace. Lois, however, did not drink as much of her cocktail as she was supposed to and it did not kill her. So when Ginny went to go check on them in the morning, she saw that Lois was still alive and this is where it gets really messed up. She decided she was going to hit her with a hammer.
And then when that didn't kill her, she stabbed her. And poor, poor Lois had defensive wounds on her arm. Like you could see that she was trying to fight her off. So she spent her last moments of her life thinking like, why is my daughter, you know, being this horrendous monster trying to kill me? And.
Ashley (:Ew.
Eww.
Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:Virginia actually got a cut on her hand that she went to the doctor for, like she went to like an ER, like a general practice type thing to get stitches. That day, that same day that she murdered both of her parents and just said that she cut her hand while she was chopping vegetables, okay? She was like, it was a kitchen accident, you know, whatever. That same day, she goes and opens up a new credit card in her mom's name.
Ashley (:what a psycho.
Nicole (:goes to like a sporting goods store, she buys sleeping bags. And then she goes to another store and she buys like cinder blocks, they call them breeze blocks, which I'm gonna assume it's the, just we call it cinder blocks. Buys cinder blocks, buys tape. And on that credit card, on the credit card she opened with her in her mother's name and comes home.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Mm.
Nicole (:sends her sister a text from her mom's phone that says, father, yeah, that says your father and I are by the seaside this weekend and leaves it at that. So she's like, you know, obviously trying to cover her track. She's giving her, she's setting the scene. So she then, hold on, I have it in my notes somewhere. ugh, so disgusting. She, ugh.
Monica (:Siblings.
Ashley (:She's, yeah, set in the scene.
Nicole (:put her parents in the sleeping bags and then puts her mother in a wardrobe and tapes like tapes her into the wardrobe and then covers like half of it with the cinder blocks and then pushes like has the wardrobe behind the bed she pushed a bed in front of the wardrobe okay her dad she he's downstairs i guess i don't know if they had separate bedrooms i don't know why lois is upstairs and the dad is downstairs
Ashley (:Mmm.
Kelsie (:Look at Monica's face, she's so unwell.
Nicole (:I know she's so disturbed. She's so squeamish. She hates all of this. I'm so sorry.
Ashley (:She's gonna pass out.
Kelsie (:Thank you.
Monica (:I'm trying not to visualize so hard.
Kelsie (:You
Nicole (:I know it's hard though. But what she does with her father is she basically creates a mausoleum for him. So she puts him in the sleeping bag, lays him down, puts the blocks around him and like builds it up. And then she puts, I saw some pictures and it looked like she put a blanket over it. But then some people are saying she put a bed on top of it. I don't know, but she encapsulated him in this quote, like makeshift mausoleum. Freaking gross. This was in 2019.
Ashley (:You
Nicole (:Six months later, the world shut down because of COVID, okay? So COVID plays a big role in this because she was able to keep this up for four years before anybody got suspicious, okay? So the night that she had killed them though, let me go back for a second. She texted that same sister that she had texted from her mom's phone originally saying that her and the dad were by the seaside. And she says, good night, so that there's some communication there.
Ashley (:god.
Nicole (:For four years, she impersonated both of her parents. Yes, she called, even in going as far as to calling the dad's pension, like whatever company he had his pension through, she called them, impersonated his voice, and had access to his pension because of that.
Ashley (:No.
Kelsie (:How did she impersonate them with her own sister though? Okay.
Nicole (:Okay, I'm getting there. She would say, because she lives with them, remember? she had many different text conversations with the siblings. And she would tell them, dad and I are gonna go here. Dad and I are gonna go there. So she was making it seem like they were out of town all the time. And when the siblings would question her, when the siblings would question Virginia, she would just say, yeah, mom and dad went so and so, wherever, blah, blah,
Ashley (:They were livin' the life.
Kelsie (:They never got weirded out that they never specifically
Nicole (:They believed her. They believed her.
Ashley (:Dumbasses.
Nicole (:Well, okay, she impersonated her mother on the phone with one of the siblings we know for sure. That has come out. She did impersonate her mother on a phone call. I know, isn't that fucked up? She even, remember how I said earlier that Lois had a pen pal that she was telling that they were a victim of fraud about? She kept up, she did, she kept up the pen pals, because both her parents had people.
Ashley (:Mm.
Monica (:That is so traumatizing. That is so fucked up.
Stop, she didn't keep sending letters.
my gosh.
Nicole (:Both of her parents had people they would correspond through letters, snail mail. And she kept up all of those appearances. She would call and cancel their doctor's appointments and come up with some kind of excuse on why they couldn't come or why they had to reschedule or whatever. Because remember, both of them were old and needed care. She would reschedule. With the COVID situation, she did use that to her advantage for a long time. She was able to say, they're at risk. They don't want to go out, yada yada. They don't feel comfortable.
Monica (:Yeah.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Monica (:We don't feel comfortable. Yeah.
Nicole (:She even went as far as sending birthday cards through like a card service and postcards through a card service for saying that, you know, like saying that they were.
at this place and that place or whatever and kept up all the birthday cards that they would send she sent on their behalf for four years.
Ashley (:wow.
Ma'am, this is like a full-time job. Are you kidding me?
Monica (:I know, I was just thinking that too.
Kelsie (:Just for their money? Is that all that this was for?
Nicole (:just yes this was well yes she's a psychopath but
Ashley (:Nah, she's clearly unstable. She's... yeah.
Monica (:Yeah.
Kelsie (:I still can't get over the siblings just I if I went four years without seeing my parents I would
Monica (:Yeah.
Nicole (:I don't think, well here's the thing, I think, I don't think any of them lived by them.
Ashley (:You'd think.
Monica (:Like, I don't-
Nicole (:They just must have taken what she was saying at face value because they probably didn't live as close and couldn't, maybe they couldn't come visit as much. And then again, with the whole COVID restrictions. Well, and so here's the thing, but four years.
Ashley (:Still though, four years.
Monica (:Yeah, I could see it happening for a while, because like I don't FaceTime my parents, but four years is a long time.
Nicole (:Yeah, four years. So I don't know if this, there's not, not a lot has come out about the siblings. So I'm not sure if they're like close. Only one sibling has really said anything. So I, I'm not too sure on.
Ashley (:Yeah.
Kelsie (:I, yeah, ugh.
Monica (:wait how did she how did she get caught because because I'm thinking about this and I'm like if if that were me like I don't FaceTime my parents so like it could go for a while but then at a certain point it's gonna be like but but no like really like where are they I know I'm too
Nicole (:Okay, I'm getting there.
Yeah.
It could.
Yeah.
Kelsie (:I'm just so sad for these parents because I can't imagine, I mean, hopefully the dad just didn't even know, but the mom knew and that's just like, ugh. I hate that. I wish she, ugh, no.
Monica (:That, yeah, it's so sad.
Nicole (:Yeah, so Virginia, Virginia is cray cray, okay? She's out of her freaking mind. She was so paranoid that she would actually call the police for little things to come investigate her own home to see if, yeah, to see if they were onto her. So she called them one time for a faked break-in. She faked a break-in and said that people were, just to see if the police had
Ashley (:No.
Nicole (:any idea that she had done this, okay? And she was that paranoid. that would put her at ease for a little bit, and then she would be like, okay, they're not on to me, and go about her life, and continue impersonating her fucking parents for literally four years. It's crazy. But how she got caught was the parent's primary care provider. They, that.
that your doctor got suspicious. He was like, I haven't seen them in four years. Every appointment, it gets canceled. What is happening? So he.
Kelsie (:She would have been better off to tell them that they moved and got a new doctor.
Ashley (:Mm.
Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:She did. At one point, she did say they moved. And the doctor was like, I don't believe that. Yeah, she should have done it right away. So she did say that they would take trips. And then eventually she said that they moved to, I don't remember where, because they were tired of people talking to them.
Monica (:Yeah.
Kelsie (:Well, she should have done it right away because you could only cancel so many times.
Monica (:Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Ashley (:Yeah.
Kelsie (:What a good doctor though, because I can't imagine any American doctor being like, you've canceled a lot. We should check on them.
Ashley (:Yeah, for real.
Monica (:Some would, some would because like mandated reporters, like that includes elder abuse too. So someone, but.
Kelsie (:Yeah, but I mean, just a lot of people would just assume like a lot of practices would just assume that you found a new place to go, you know.
Nicole (:Hmm.
Monica (:Mm hmm. Yeah. Yeah.
Ashley (:Yeah.
Kelsie (:Cause I've switched doctors and never told them like, I'm moving or I'm this or that, you know?
Monica (:The only tricky thing I could think of for them is that because they're elderly and if they didn't have any requests for records to be sent to go to anywhere else and they didn't come in, yeah.
Nicole (:you
Mm-hmm.
That would be a red flag. That's what I think. Yeah. So that's what I'm thinking. I'm thinking this this primary care provider must have been very close with them. They must have been seeing this person for a long time. The community is a little bit smaller is what it kind of sounded like. So and I guess there some people in the neighborhood too that were getting suspicious of why they hadn't seen them in a long time. They were like we never see them anymore. Like neighbors are like very concerned. So what happened was the primary care provider called in a tip to the police because he wanted to
have a well check done. that's when Virginia said that they moved. And so the police were like, okay, like they're not here, they moved, okay, kind of moved on. It's unclear because eventually they raid her house. It's unclear how they come to that decision of raiding her house. But I think when they did the welfare check and she was like, no, they moved, they moved.
Monica (:I will check, yeah.
Ashley (:Hmm.
Nicole (:I think that the police was suspicious. Like they had to have been, they had to have been like, hmm, something's not right here. Four years, four years. So I don't, that hasn't.
Kelsie (:I can't believe this is gross, I'm sorry, but I can't believe the stench was contained. I can't believe the sleeping bags and the cinder blocks contained the stench.
Monica (:Mm-hmm.
That's what I was thinking too. Yeah.
Ashley (:Yes.
Nicole (:That's what I was saying. Okay, so I was like, ew, what the fuck? I don't know if she put anything on them that hasn't come out yet. She actually got arrested in September of 2023, and this is just now coming out, I think, probably because her trial finally just came out. But she got arrested in September of 2023. And when she gets arrested, they raid her house, they literally bust down her door, and she's standing in the hallway, just standing there, like blank face, very cold, very calm.
Monica (:Wait.
Okay, I was just gonna ask.
Nicole (:not caring and she goes, I kind of figured this was going to happen soon. And one of her neighbors had said to police after the fact that Virginia had had said to them that the cops were coming around and that she was, what did she say? I have her in here. Hold on. A neighbor was approached by Virginia before the raid saying the police think I've killed my parents and
So I don't know how she knew that or maybe she was just paranoid or whatever. Maybe they had been kind of staking out her place and she maybe noticed it, I'm not sure. But regardless, they raid her house, they bust down the door, they arrest her and she says, okay, you I knew this was coming, like, that's fine. And she's like, can I just, can I show you like where they are or can I tell you where they are? And the...
arresting officers are like, stop telling us anything. We just need to arrest you. That's what we're here for. That's all we're here for. If you want to tell us stuff, it's got to be done at the station. She was like, well, I just want to tell you where they're located so you could put it in your report. And then I can, you we could go into detail more about it later. And she literally tells them she's like, mom's upstairs in the bedroom. There's about five wardrobes in that room. It's the second one next to this, that, the other. And dad is downstairs in, under a bed.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:surrounded by cinder blocks, tells him exactly where it is. And she's like, and they're just standing there like, okay, taking the report. You're not gonna be happy when you hear the diagnosis. Actually, I feel like you're not gonna be happy when you hear the diagnosis because I don't think, okay, I don't think this is a diagnosis. I think this was an assumption from the judge, which I think might have been in a poor taste. I don't agree with it. I'm getting there. Do you?
Monica (:What?
Kelsie (:I need this woman's diagnosis, I need to know.
Ashley (:Yeah, what's wrong with her?
Kelsie (:I already know what you're gonna say. Go ahead. Go ahead.
Nicole (:Okay, hold on. Okay, so she gets arrested. I have to like, have to say this part because this part is especially heinous. She gets arrested and one of the, you know, the arresting officers, have to be like, they can't, they can't really give expression. They just have to do their job. They have to be neutral. They have to do their job and they have to go. So they're standing there being neutral, like, and she looks at one and she goes, don't be so sad. Or she goes, cheer up. At least you've got, you caught the bad guy.
Monica (:I I have to be neutral.
Nicole (:And he's like, literally the offers goes, it's not my job to cheer up or not. I am here to arrest you and that's it. Like that's all I'm here to do. You don't need to tell me anymore. Like, you know, let's just go. And I was like, ew, cheer up. At least you got the bad guy. What the, I was so disturbed by that. was like, what do mean cheer up? Like you, ugh. So the judge had said that,
Ashley (:Ew.
What a fucking weirdo.
Nicole (:Obviously she has psychopathic tendencies clearly and then he tried to say something about her being autistic and I don't know. Yeah, so I think this did come from us. What's it called? I can't think of the word psychologist. There we go that she might have been on the spectrum coupled with this psychopathic diagnosis, but to be quite honest, I don't think she was autistic at all because if you just she's calculated, she's like so calculated.
Kelsie (:I knew you were going to say that.
Nicole (:to a point where I don't think that she's autistic.
Kelsie (:think that.
Nicole (:I think that's a weird diagnosis. I don't like it.
Kelsie (:don't know, but I don't think she deserves that distinction.
Nicole (:That's exactly, that's what I was gonna say. like, and I had to, I was trying to think about it. like, I feel like the UK is such a different place than like here. And maybe that's their only, like the only way they can wrap their head around it. But I personally do not think that she's autistic. I just think she was a flat out psychopath. But it's a very interesting story. So she ended up getting 30, at the minimum of 36 years in prison. And.
Kelsie (:think that's a dangerous precedent kind of to set because I mean obviously I could see where the line could be crossed there to think that but I think that's a really dangerous thing because I'm sure any like a lot of psychopaths, sociopaths have really weird connection to emotion and that doesn't make them autistic like that's fucked up.
Ashley (:Yeah.
Nicole (:I agree. I agree.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I absolutely agree.
Yeah, no. And see, that's where I was like, I can see the crossover, but I don't think that's the case. You know what I mean? Like I could see how you get there, but it's not the right diagnosis. Yeah, I agree.
Monica (:Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Kelsie (:I can see how you get there, but I don't think that you should ever get to that.
I think I would tread there very carefully.
Monica (:Well, even if it is a diagnosis, it's not an explanation for it or a justification.
Ashley (:Well, why is it even, yeah, it's not relevant really. It's not.
Nicole (:No, I, no, and they literally stated in their closing statements for her sentencing. So I'm like, they really do think that it's part of it, which I agree with you. think it's a dangerous and like, don't, I personally don't agree. I don't think it's right. And I don't think they even should have mentioned it, even if she was, even if they, even if before this, maybe, maybe.
Kelsie (:No.
Monica (:They probably had to, they probably had to because they would have done a full psychological evaluation and they have to disclose anything that's discovered.
Nicole (:Well, okay. No, no, no, that's not what I'm talking about. The psych, like the psych eval, yes, they should have disclosed it. The judge, I don't think he should have disclosed any of that. should, I think he should have said, this is your sentencing. You are clearly unwell and left it at that.
Monica (:Mm, yeah.
Mm-hmm
Yeah. Yeah.
Kelsie (:If she had already been sentenced and it wasn't a factor, if they weren't using that as a case to get her change her sentencing, it shouldn't have been mentioned, I don't think. Yeah.
Monica (:Yeah, if it doesn't play a role.
Nicole (:Yeah.
Monica (:Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Nicole (:Exactly, which they didn't obviously because she got the minimum of 36 years and she clearly did a heinous and she even said like, okay Maybe this will bring me some peace girl This is gonna bring you peace. don't think you're gonna I don't think so. Nothing's gonna bring you peace like you crazy Yeah, and that's I know I was gonna say Monica's gonna think this is very fascinating from a You know therapist point of view because this is crazy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah and
Ashley (:Nothing's gonna bring her peace.
Mm-hmm.
Monica (:That is so fascinating. want to interview her.
Yeah, just from a psychological perspective.
Ashley (:I'm not understanding how she could live in the house with two corpses for four years. And how could the police have been in there?
Nicole (:Dude, dude, so when I saw the video of when she was arrested, and I don't know if this is a common thing in maybe that part of the world, but it almost looked like a tri-level house. So I wonder if mom was upstairs, dad was downstairs, and she lived in the main center area and didn't, I'm not sure, maybe she didn't, but the smell. yeah.
Monica (:Yeah
Kelsie (:Psycho. Psychopath.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Monica (:Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
But either way, like there would have been a scent going into neighbors, like.
Ashley (:I would, I thought, yeah.
Nicole (:So she must have done something. She must have done something to combat the smell. I am so bothered by this. I've been bothered by this for a whole week now because I saw this right after we filmed our last episode and I was like, my God. my God.
Monica (:I am very bothered by this story.
Yeah, this reminds me of another UK story that I had heard too, where similar kind of timeline COVID and there was some guy, he wasn't related to the guy that had, but he was like a caretaker and he like the guy supposedly passed away of natural causes, but instead of like calling authorities, he put him in a deep freeze and kept him in the flat with him so that he could collect his like disability.
Nicole (:Mm-hmm.
Ugh.
Ashley (:Ew.
Nicole (:Well that's smarter than freaking... yeah.
Kelsie (:Well, I just, did you guys see the story about the people bought a house and they went to get rid of the deep freeze and they found a head and like hands in it? And it turned out it was the daughter of the mom who had sold the house.
Ashley (:Yes.
Yes.
Nicole (:No, I didn't see that.
Shut up!
Ashley (:I actually read that that house passed multiple levels of ownership. No, like the original owner, it was his daughter, it was their daughter. And then the house like went through multiple ownerships before this past one where they found that. Maybe it was like online sales or something is the only thing I can think. Like someone bought the property, never went there.
Nicole (:Inspection? my god.
Monica (:How did they just like leave that in the freezer? They forgot to pack that one with them.
Kelsie (:That's what people were saying though is how do you forget? How do you murder your daughter and then for? No, the mom's still alive, but something's wrong with her. I read the stepdad, the stepdad died and the mom is like unwell. She's like a druggy or something. I think the house got taken from her. She didn't even sell it. I think it got like foreclosed on. Yeah. Cause I initially I was like, how do you murder your own child and then forget and leave them their body?
Monica (:No, yeah.
Ashley (:Maybe they died, I don't know. Did they get arrested?
Monica (:Like we just forgot to pack the body.
Ashley (:No shit, she's unwell. She had her daughter in a fucking freezer.
Nicole (:God!
Monica (:think four closed.
Nicole (:Bro, that's fucked up.
Ashley (:So fucked up.
Nicole (:But honestly, honestly, they're smarter. They're smarter than this bitch. This bitch didn't fucking put them in a deep freeze. Like, she just lived with their corpses. at least these people put her in a deep freeze. Jesus. That's so awful. Honestly, that's so bad. my god.
Ashley (:Okay, but that girl, no, this girl was like 16 and she had been missing since like 95 and she wasn't like, no one was looking for her. There was no investigation. She just hadn't been seen since like 95 or something. I don't know if that year is right. And she's just been dead and no one has thought a fucking thing about her this whole time.
Kelsie (:No.
Monica (:That's so sad.
Nicole (:Shut up. I have chills.
Kelsie (:Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Monica (:Hmm.
Kelsie (:They just believed whatever her mom said about her, yeah. Well, her grandma, she was living with her grandma and her grandma died. And then like something, I don't know how her mom explained it away, but basically no one cared to know where she went. Yeah.
Nicole (:That is so fucking sad. That is so fucking sad.
Monica (:that is really sad.
Nicole (:cared.
Monica (:That's so sad. That makes me so sad.
Nicole (:Wow, my gosh, that feel for that girl. So that is so fucking sad, honestly, like that poor girl. She didn't, and I bet you her, I bet you, I bet you, I bet you her grandma was the only one that was like doing anything to protect her. And then as soon as she died, it was just like a.
Kelsie (:Yeah, it's very sad.
Ashley (:Yeah, I don't know how I happened across that story because I usually try and avoid all of this.
Monica (:Man.
I do too. Thanks, Nicole.
Kelsie (:It made it on a couple news things. It was kind of big.
Mm-hmm. Yeah.
Monica (:But even with that, so it's like, there's so many people who have kids who, for one reason or another, cut off extended family, right? And so it very well could have been something like that where they just like had kind of a cutoff and what do do?
Nicole (:Yeah. Yeah.
Well, yeah. I'm also curious about that in Virginia's case here, because I don't know if all the siblings spoke to each other. Maybe they were falling out. like, there's five of them. Why were not they all? There's five kids all together. So Virginia is five, yeah. So why did none of, you know, it seems to be that there was only correspondence with like one sibling. So.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Monica (:Mm-hmm. Wait, there were five siblings?
Ashley (:Yeah.
Monica (:Yeah. my gosh.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Kelsie (:That's what I'm saying. I can't even fathom because my family is so not like this. Like none of us would go four years without actually making eye contact with our parents.
Monica (:interesting. So sad. Yeah.
Ashley (:Yeah.
Monica (:Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:Yeah, no, I know. That's the same thing. Like, I would... That's insane to me. I'm not sure. That's true. That's true.
Ashley (:People live weird lives, I don't know.
Monica (:Cause I could, yeah, and I mean, I can see some of this stuff happening like 20, 30 years ago more, I don't want to say like frequently, but like maybe more easily. But now with like having FaceTime and like Zoom and everything to not have eyes is kind of wild.
Nicole (:Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah.
Right. Yeah, very easy. She, was definitely a full-time job for her to keep this up, but it was apparently worth it for her because she kept their, you know, their pension payments and their disability payments and all the things going because she just wanted to risk. She defrauded them like so I can't even remember the amount, but you know, four years worth of pension and disability payments for both of them.
Ashley (:Yeah.
Kelsie (:Crazy.
Nicole (:Well, pension for the dad, disability payments for both of them. Like, that's insane. And somebody, was watching a video that was like, there was some online gambling that she was doing. So they actually looked into the amount of debt that she did with the gambling. And it was not enough. It was not enough for them to be like, okay, that was the sole reason that she, yeah, it wasn't enough. was just like, it looks like a very small stint in her.
Monica (:That was the reason why.
Nicole (:four years of stealing money from them. And even before that, she was stealing money from them. She was stealing money from them when she was living with them and taking care of them too. And I guess she just got to the point where she didn't wanna take care of them anymore and just wanted their money and they were just in her way. So she had to get rid of them. But she really was, I guess some of the neighbors were saying that like right before she got arrested, she was strutting around the neighborhood saying that she was pregnant.
Ashley (:Ew.
Nicole (:Yeah, trying to play that off that she was pregnant and she clearly was not pregnant. so like other people, think besides their doctor were concerned of what was happening over there because she was showing, obviously showing signs of like mental unwell and then them never seeing the parents anymore. Like not even, cause some of the neighbors I would assume were like, where have they been? Like.
Monica (:Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:They're they're the elderly couple in the neighborhood. You have to think they probably live there for a long time. I would assume they are chummy with their neighbors. They know their neighbors. So I would be suspicious if I was one of their neighbors. Like, where's that old couple? know, four years, four years.
Kelsie (:It's sad that it took four years. You would think suspicion would set in a little bit earlier than that.
Monica (:Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:Four years. And the crazy thing is she actually like murdered them in the summer of 2019 and the whole COVID thing didn't happen until the next year. So she hid them for six months and then used that entire year to her advantage. I don't know, she was arrested in September of 2023. So it was like over a year, or over four years that she had them.
Ashley (:Yeah.
Kelsie (:2020, yeah.
Monica (:Mm-hmm.
Kelsie (:Crazy.
Nicole (:just decomposing in there. I wanna know. I wanna know all the things. I wanna know how she didn't, like how the smell, how the smell did not affect anything. Like did she preserve them somehow? did she, you know, like, I have so many questions. have so many questions. Because they found.
Monica (:That is creepy.
Ashley (:Yeah. What a sicko.
Monica (:Yeah, I have a lot of questions.
Mm-hmm.
Ashley (:Yeah, I have that question too.
Nicole (:They found the bodies and they were able to determine that Lois had defensive wounds on her arms. So were the defensive wounds so deep? That's what I'm saying. Or were the defensive wounds so deep that it went down to the bone and that's where they were able to see, know, cause she was literally hacking at her with a hammer. So, yeah, I'm not gonna go into details of where the hammer was, but you can use your imagination.
Kelsie (:she had to have done some sort of preservation or something.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm. Yeah.
Monica (:Like some, yeah, some kind of preservation.
Mm-hmm.
Kelsie (:No, no, no, no, no.
Ashley (:BLEH
Monica (:I just, I, it's just so.
Kelsie (:No.
Ashley (:Okay.
Monica (:It's interesting to me that she chose to keep them in the house. You know what I mean? Like it's literally like she created like a cemetery for herself. Yeah.
Kelsie (:you
Nicole (:Yep. Yep.
Kelsie (:She probably knew she was incapable of getting them out, maybe.
Nicole (:Yeah, yeah, I think that's what it was. I don't think she had any other way to dispose of them. that's sad to say it like that.
Kelsie (:They didn't think, why is she hauling in so many cinder blocks?
Nicole (:Yeah, yeah, and I was like, I wonder if she just told people like, the garden or something in the basement or, like I don't know, home project. I have no idea. Very suspicious, very disgusting.
Ashley (:Yeah.
Monica (:The garden.
Kelsie (:I don't know, very weird.
Monica (:I don't know how you two like, get so invested in like the true crime stories and stuff because I can handle like one in a blue moon.
Nicole (:I definitely enjoy this because people are nuts.
Kelsie (:I'm a little worried that the story I was gonna tell next week might be a little too much for you, Monica.
Monica (:Yeah, I'll survive. survive.
Nicole (:you have to tell it. You have to. I have to tell it. You have to tell it. I'm so excited. Yeah, next week. Our last spooky episode will be about a cult. I believe in your area, right, Kelsey?
Kelsie (:It's really gruesome. I might have to cut out some details.
Ashley (:Next week we talk Colts.
Monica (:Uhhh, yeah.
Ashley (:No, yeah, I also.
Kelsie (:Yeah, I grew up five, like five miles from where this cult was.
Monica (:my gosh. my gosh. Which if anybody is wondering, like this actually is very accurate for our group chat where Ashley and I are just like, what? And then Kelsey and Nicole are going off about some random, like horrific story.
Ashley (:Can't wait to hear about that.
Nicole (:I'm so excited, I'm giddy.
Kelsie (:It's very, yeah.
Nicole (:Yeah.
Kelsie (:There was one
pretty early on in our group chat where I feel like it was one of the first times we really just broke open. And me and Nicole, the whole day, the whole day, I'm not exaggerating, voice notes back and forth about every spooky experience we've ever had, every dream we've ever, everything, convinced we're mediums, everything, the whole day.
Monica (:Voice notes, voice notes.
Nicole (:my god.
Ashley (:You
Monica (:Yeah.
Nicole (:Speaking of, speaking of, I have a story. I have another story. I'm taking over this episode because I have another story for you.
Ashley (:you
Welcome to Nicole's Podcast.
Nicole (:Yeah, just it's my podcast now. You bitches take a back seat. OK. my God. The other night. What's today? Sunday. OK, this was no today, Saturday. So this was Thursday night. OK. I'm going to puke just thinking about it. I don't know. I was feeling weird that day. They just all day. Wasn't I didn't sleep. I didn't sleep like at all.
Kelsie (:You
Monica (:Gosh.
Ashley (:Today's Saturday.
Monica (:Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:if it wasn't one thing, it was another, like I fell asleep on the couch with my kids for a little bit. And then I put them in their bed and then I just couldn't sleep. And then like maybe an hour later, one kid's awake and then that kid's coming to my bed. And then like maybe another hour goes by the other kid's awake and I have to go get that kid and bring her in bed. So I am not sleeping. Right. And anytime I am sleeping, I'm in that weird in between sleep, you know, where you're like, you feel like you're awake, but you're not awake, but you still think you're awake.
Monica (:Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:I don't like that sleep. I hate that sleep. Well, from my bed, when my bedroom door is open, I can see straight out into our kitchen and like dining room area. And so the first dream, I guess that happened is I'm in my bed in the exact position that I am in in actual life.
Ashley (:God.
Monica (:no.
Kelsie (:my God, did you have sleep paralysis? This sounds like sleep paralysis. This sounds like sleep paralysis. Go ahead.
Nicole (:I think I might have had some sort of sleep paralysis. Okay, but listen. I hear what I think. Okay, so I'm dreaming, right? This is my dream. I can see, my eyes are open in my dream. I see out my door. I see my kitchen. I see my dining room. I hear footsteps.
Monica (:no.
Ashley (:my god.
Nicole (:from what sounds like my back door all the way to my kitchen in my line of sight and I can see a person and I see this person and they like, it looks like they're taking off like a bag. It looks like they live here. And I go to nudge my husband sitting, know, sleeping next to me in my dream and I go to say someone's in the house but I can't move my arm and I can't move my mouth and I'm going, Okay, and I'm panicking and then two seconds later I wake up and I'm like, what?
Monica (:Mm-mm.
I hate that so much for you
Ashley (:Mmm.
Monica (:I hate this so much.
Kelsie (:sleep paralysis.
Nicole (:I'm like, okay, that was a dream. I fucking hate it. Okay, so a mini sleep paralysis, which I've never had sleep paralysis before and I hope it never goes. No, no. It didn't seem to last very long, so I'm sticking with mini, okay? So then I fall back to sleep. like, I fall back to sleep. I'm like, okay, chill the fuck out. Calm down, go back to sleep. I hate this. This happened to me several fucking times that night.
Monica (:Mm-mm. Mm-mm.
Kelsie (:sleep paralysis.
That wasn't mini sleep paralysis. That was full blown sleep paralysis.
Monica (:Yeah.
Nicole (:Again, same fucking situation. My dream is that I'm laying in bed next to my children, next to my husband. My door is open. I can see in my kitchen and we have a big island. On the island, I see my daughter's cup, her pink cup with the green straw. And I watch it lift up and start floating towards my room. This time, however, in my dream, I smack my husband and I'm like,
Ashley (:my God.
Nicole (:Fucking look and he looks and he smacks the cup out of the air. I Wake up. So I thought I Woke up. I went from one dream to another dream. Okay in my dream again. I wake I'm like I wake up I'm like, my god It was just a dream and I look over and he's up and he's like what was a dream and I go the cup and he goes No, it wasn't and he points to the ground and I look on the ground and there's a fucking cup cuz he just smacked it out of the air in my dream, right and then I wake up for real and I'm like
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:What the fuck? Something's fucking with me. Okay, so I wake up, I see where I'm at. I'm like, okay. I wake up for real. I make sure that I'm awake for real. And I'm like, okay. Yeah, literally, I'm like, I'm checking my kids. know, I'm like, touching my head, like making sure that I'm awake. I'm like, okay. I'm like, you're tripping out. Go to sleep. I go back to sleep. I have another dream.
Ashley (:my god.
Monica (:I hate this for you.
Kelsie (:Spack yourself.
Ashley (:I'm
Nicole (:This time it wasn't a sleep paralysis dream. This time I'm actually out of my bed, physically out of my bed. My husband and my kids and I walk into the bedroom, or walk into the living room and our furniture is moved. And I'm like, did you move this furniture? And he's like, no, I didn't move the furniture. And I'm like, why is there furniture? I'm I'm freaking out. I don't know why the furniture's moved. I don't remember that one as much. And I wake up again and I'm like, my fucking God.
Ashley (:Gosh.
Nicole (:For some reason, my toddler, my two-year-old, was also awake. I think that's what woke me up. She was stirring. And she goes, I want my horsey. I'm like, OK. I know where her horsey is. It's on the couch. So I get up. And I also had to pee. So I go pee. I get the horsey. I come back. I close my bedroom door almost all the way, because my dogs go in and out of my room all night. So I didn't close all the way. Close it almost all the way to where I can't see out of my bedroom. And I say, leave me the fuck alone.
and I go back to bed and it stopped. Stopped for the rest of the night, didn't have any fucking other experiences, whatever it was, left me the fuck alone.
Kelsie (:That used to happen to me in Hawaii all the time.
Monica (:gosh.
Nicole (:And I'm not kidding, I wanted to fucking puke. And then I tell my husband this the next morning and he just, he's laughing at me. He's like, I can't, like I cannot with this. And so like then all of yesterday, I spent specifically saying out loud, you need to go away. Like I'm rebuking you in the name of Jesus, get out of my house, you need to go away. I don't want to mess with you. I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want from me, but you gotta go away.
Kelsie (:Nicole, you would have hated my Hawaii house. Like you would have wanted to burn it down.
Monica (:UGH
Nicole (:But I was kind of laughing a little bit because before we fell asleep, we have a lot of trees. My entire house and property is surrounded by trees, trees, trees, trees, so many trees. When you look outside, you can't even actually see through the trees. And as soon as it gets dark outside, it looks way darker than it is because there's so many trees. I close all the blinds as soon as the sun starts to go down because I don't want to see anything out there because it freaks me out. But because I'm paranoid. Yeah, it's like, uh-uh. Yes, exactly like the cabin. can't.
Ashley (:just like the cabin.
Kelsie (:Like the cabin, exactly like the cabin.
Monica (:Right.
Ashley (:I can't believe you live like that every day.
Kelsie (:Ha ha!
Nicole (:I do, I love it during the daytime at night, it's a little creepy. Especially on the nights when Justin's not here, cause he works nights, it's like, no, okay. So that night though, before we went to bed, we hear owls. These owls are going crazy outside, hooting, hooting, hooting, and this other owl's making this weird fucking noise that I've never heard an owl make before. And so we look it up and apparently late fall, which I wouldn't call it late fall, but this time of year, I guess.
Monica (:Yeah, I could see that.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:into winter is owl mating season. So they're hooting and hollering out there. I don't like owls, okay? I don't know. I don't know if any of you have ever seen the fourth kind. I suggest you don't.
Monica (:Yeah, I won't because I like owls, so don't ruin them for me.
Nicole (:But I don't like owls. I'm not gonna s-
Kelsie (:Are you the one that sent that picture of the baby owls in the attic that looked like an alien?
Nicole (:That was Monica. That was Monica. That was Monica.
Monica (:I did. I did. And they did look like an alien.
Ashley (:Ew, that was gross. That was weird.
Kelsie (:It was very weird.
Nicole (:Okay, well, let me just tell you, a lot of people tend to associate owls with aliens, okay? So, no, prior to this, they associate seeing owls, like at night especially, obviously owls are nocturnal, so when the fuck else would you see them, but whatever. They associate owls with aliens. So I always tell my husband I hate the owls, I don't like to hear them outside, because I don't want to my ass abducted, okay? And it's kind of a joke.
Ashley (:I hated that.
Monica (:Well, I mean, I do now.
interesting.
Nicole (:It also, if you've seen the fourth kind, it's also not a joke. If you have not, I'm joking, but I'm not joking. I'm kind of low key, a little bit of a joke, but it does make me a little nervous when I hear them outside. I'm like, please don't abduct me. Anyway. So I was joking the next morning. was like, it was your fucking owls. were, cause Justin was like literally trying to go outside and see the owls. And I was like, bro, leave them alone. Like leave nature be right now. They're trying to nature, leave them alone. Yeah.
Kelsie (:She's like, I'm joking, but I'm not joking. I'm so scared of owls.
Ashley (:A little bit of a joke.
Monica (:my goodness.
They're trying to mate.
Ashley (:She's like, don't get abducted.
Nicole (:Don't go outside, there's aliens out there. Don't lure the aliens to the house, please.
Kelsie (:She's like, don't lure the aliens in, please.
Monica (:We don't need aliens in our house.
Nicole (:So, yeah, no, I was like, it was your fucking your fucking owls. They got me all fucked up. They got me all in a tizzy before I went to bed and it was the owl's fault, but.
Kelsie (:Listen, now that we're in this, I have to tell you my sleep paralysis journey. I feel like I've probably told you this before, but the rest of the world needs to know it. Because I never had sleep paralysis ever until we moved to Hawaii. And we moved onto, like we lived on Marine Corps Base Hawaii, which is Kaneohe Bay. It's very famously haunted. Burial grounds. Okay. All these things. So we move into our house.
Monica (:my gosh.
Nicole (:Yeah, let's do it.
Monica (:you
Nicole (:Mm-mm.
Well.
Kelsie (:And we are not, we don't even have our furniture yet. We're sleeping on an air mattress in the living room. We've lived there like maybe a week and I wake up and I say wake up in in quotations because I didn't actually wake up. I was in sleep paralysis and someone is walking down the stairs toward me. This is my first ever experience with sleep paralysis and I can't, I'm like, I can't move. I can't talk.
Nicole (:Mm-mm.
I hate it. I hate it.
Nope, nope, nope, nope.
Ashley (:Ugh.
Nicole (:Mm.
Kelsie (:and it's just walking towards me. So I'm having a motherfucking panic attack. And so I wake up and I'm like, okay, that wasn't real. It was just, it wasn't real. And I fall back to sleep and it happens again instantly. And they're walking back towards me. And so that was my first ever go with sleep paralysis. But the thing is, is that it never stopped why we live there. I frequently, frequently had sleep paralysis where
Nicole (:Okay.
Ashley (:Ugh.
Nicole (:Mm-mm.
Kelsie (:I would think that someone would be pulling the blankets off of me or they would be standing at the edge, just a black figure at the end of the bed. And it was usually it was they were pulling the... Yeah, usually it was that they were pulling the blankets off of me really slowly or they were just standing there. And if it happened more than once, like if I woke up and then I went back into it, they'd be closer the second time.
Nicole (:UUGH! UUGH!
No. I do not claim this.
Monica (:I hate this. I hate this conversation.
Nicole (:Nah, nah, nah, I do not claim this.
No!
Ashley (:man.
Monica (:Mmm.
Kelsie (:And I did some research on sleep paralysis and I convinced myself that it's just like, you're not getting good sleep or like something's up that's causing this, okay? But I didn't have kids yet. I was getting the best sleep of my goddamn life. anyways, so it continues on and there was one night where this wasn't sleep paralysis, but it was a really bad dream where I was walking up the stairs in my house and this old...
I'm going to say she was an old woman, she was like, her eyes were yellow. She was terrifying. She comes out of the one of the guest rooms at the end of the hall and chases me down the hallway. was terrifying. And that was like, I can still like see her in my brain to this day. Like she's like, and so anyways, sleep paralysis continued. And when we moved, it stopped. It ceased.
Nicole (:Mm-mm.
Ashley (:my god.
Nicole (:No, no.
Ashley (:that that's unfortunate.
Nicole (:Okay, I don't know. I'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight.
Kelsie (:I experienced it maybe once in North Carolina. And then we moved back to Hawaii in different housing and I never experienced it there and I have not experienced it here since. And so it was that house. It was that house.
Ashley (:how weird.
Nicole (:Mm-mm.
Well, I don't want it, so...
Ashley (:No.
Monica (:Ashley, do you have sleep paralysis? Because I'm beginning to think it's a them problem.
Ashley (:Fuck no. It is. You guys obsessing over your spookiness and leaning into all this weird creepy shit is why you have so many experiences to talk about.
Nicole (:It is, is a them. is, yeah, it's an us problem. Yeah.
Monica (:huh.
Kelsie (:Listen, I wasn't really
I don't think I really leaned that much into it back then. Like I obviously loved a good spooky story, but like I didn't, I wasn't like I am now where I, you know, I talk about all the time, but it was just that house. Like as soon as we moved away, it was fine. So.
Monica (:Nicole, meh.
Ashley (:you
Nicole (:Ahem.
Monica (:I mean, can see it for Hawaii because there's lots of history there, so I can definitely see it there.
Nicole (:Yeah.
Ashley (:I don't know, dope.
Kelsie (:Well, and that was the first base that got hit for Pearl Harbor. They were the first base to get shot. But also it's an ancient Hawaiian burial ground. So just lots of... And when they wait one more, they started building houses, new houses in that same area where the houses were. Like they had some extra land, so they built some more. And they had to stop building because they found bones. So they had to stop buildings.
Nicole (:I.
Ashley (:Mmm.
Monica (:gosh.
Nicole (:Yeah. I love.
Monica (:Mm-hmm. Just lots of death there.
Ashley (:Ugh.
Kelsie (:building until they could like figure out. Yeah.
Nicole (:No, no, no, no, no, What can we just can we all agree to not like if we know that horrific things have happened at a certain site or like it's an ancient burial ground specifically ancient can we like all agree to just not build shit there because I mean, I mean, yeah, they don't care. They don't give any fucks. I yeah, I know. I just
Monica (:Mm-mm. Mm-mm.
I mean the four of us can, but. All right. We talked about this in Colorado though. This is like poultry guys crap. Like they're just gonna build where they're gonna build.
Kelsie (:The military don't care. I think the military would disagree with you, rationale out the window on that one. Huh.
Nicole (:I just...
Kelsie (:There was a whole Facebook page called MCBH Paranormal where people would tell about their things that happened on base. Yes. Yes.
Monica (:man, I am not a fan. I'm not a fan. So let's end on a funnier lighter note because we haven't done this one in a while. And am I the asshole because this one is, I do find it very comical. Yeah. Okay.
Nicole (:I hate it, I hate it.
Okay
Ashley (:Yes, let's.
Nicole (:Yay!
Ashley (:Okay, give it to us Monica.
Nicole (:Okay, am I the asshole? Give it to us, give it to us. Give it to me baby! Okay, alright, alright.
Kelsie (:Give it to me baby, huh, huh.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
Monica (:Okay, so it's a little bit of a story. Little bit of a story. Okay, so it says, 18 female, have been with my boyfriend, 19 male, for two years now. This all started when we first met three years ago. I was new at our high school and he introduced me to his friends, which had mostly French speakers. I think this is in Europe. I've never been confident with my French speaking due to insecurity about my accent. I know, me neither, me neither.
Ashley (:You
Nicole (:It's story. Okay.
Oui oui. Same. I took French in high school and I'm like, just, I'm not confident.
Kelsie (:Me either. Me either, girl.
Monica (:I actually know like no French I Only know Spanish okay anyhow I've never been confident with my French speaking due to my insecurity about my accent a hole But I can understand the language perfectly I was too embarrassed to let them know because I was scared They'd ask me to try to speak French with them. I got really close with the friend group. I know I got really close to the friend group
Kelsie (:I took French on Duolingo for a week.
Ashley (:Hahaha.
Kelsie (:Okay, go ahead.
Nicole (:sorry.
Kelsie (:Yeah
Ashley (:Stop. Stop.
Nicole (:I get that. I can understand that.
Monica (:and my boyfriend and I got together after one year of speaking. My not speaking French had never been a problem because he would speak English around me and always made sure his friends did the same. And it went on for so long that I just didn't have the heart to tell them that I could understand them anyways. The problem started, I know, I know. The problem, I know. The problem started in uni. We both got a house off campus together, but my boyfriend was always coming back really late.
Nicole (:my god. I can see where this is going. Okay.
Ashley (:no. no.
Monica (:I had convinced myself that he was probably occupied with uni stuff, but the other night I overheard him talking on the phone to one of his French friends about how he hooked up with three different girls at the same time and I was completely baffled.
Ashley (:shit. shit. she could really understand French.
Nicole (:this motherfucker. motherfucker. He said, ménage à trois, and she said, know exactly what that is. Uh-huh, okay.
Monica (:Right. Yeah. Yeah. I can.
Ashley (:And she said, uh-huh, yeah.
Kelsie (:I think anybody would know Menage-a-Trois. Like if you say that to me, I don't speak a lick of French, but I'm gonna know what you're doing, buddy.
Monica (:I... Right. Right. I know that one. I know that one.
Nicole (:Okay, all right, all right, all all
Monica (:Okay.
Ashley (:You
Monica (:Okay, I confronted him, but instead of being apologetic, he got mad that I could actually understand what he was saying. I tried to come up with an excuse and say I managed to pick up the language after all this time we've been together, but he doesn't believe me since he never speaks French around me, and he said he can't trust me anymore. I don't, he's staying at his friend's house.
Nicole (:Just
Ashley (:Okay.
Who gives a fuck?
Nicole (:He can't trust you? my god. Great, good, good. Please. Don't trust me.
Kelsie (:don't want you to trust me, sir. Sleep with one eye open!
Ashley (:Damn, talk about gaslighting. What the fuck?
Monica (:Right, right. He's staying in his friend's house right now and I don't know if I'm at fault here for not telling him I understand French or if the problem is him cheating. Am I the asshole? Which later she came back and was like, I understand he was wrong. He's the asshole for cheating. But I also want to understand if I also am the asshole, which I mean.
Ashley (:Come on. my lord.
Nicole (:my god.
Okay, she should
Kelsie (:I this goes back to him, did you even like... You don't know that she understands French? How, like, you live together!
Monica (:Yeah.
Nicole (:Nah.
Monica (:Right, you never had a conversation about it or like you never were like, hey, let me teach you a couple phrases like that never came up ever.
Ashley (:Yeah.
Nicole (:Yeah.
I think he saw it as an opportunity. This girl doesn't know French, a language I'm fucking fluent in, so I'm just gonna keep it that way and I can do whatever I want. And clearly, yeah, he thinks he's never gonna get caught because he can say whatever he wants. that's diabolical. I can't.
Ashley (:when he's clearly a liar.
Monica (:But the spinning it around...
Ashley (:He's a sneaky liar.
Monica (:Yeah, the spinning it around of like, you can't be mad at me for hooking up with three girls at the same time when you speak this language that you are eavesdropped with.
Kelsie (:That's it shouldn't matter like yeah, the fact that he won to spin it around is just fucked like you need to go get fucked sir, but but also who gives I mean Yeah, he did no go get fucked by something else. That's not pleasurable. Goodbye,
Nicole (:You're just... he did!
Monica (:Right.
Ashley (:Yeah.
Nicole (:Get fucked in life homie get fucked in life
Monica (:That's not pleasurable.
Ashley (:Go have bad sex.
Kelsie (:I hope every time you get close to orgasmine you just something you think of your grandma and it ruins it.
Nicole (:Ha ha!
I'm gonna pee my pants.
Ashley (:Okay, so he is the asshole.
Monica (:He's clearly the asshole, but is she also the asshole?
Kelsie (:He's the asshole. No, she, no, because she would still be with-
Nicole (:Yeah, yeah.
think so.
Ashley (:No, I think they have a weird relationship. They are weird. They were weird to begin with that it got there. I don't think she's an asshole, but it's strange.
Monica (:Yeah. Yeah.
Nicole (:Well, I just...
Kelsie (:They wouldn't have made it this far.
Nicole (:No.
Kelsie (:because first of all he probably wouldn't have been able to either way they were doomed because either way he would have
Monica (:Yeah. I just don't understand how she went that long without being like, by the way, I understand you guys. Or, or maybe that was her superpower. Yeah.
Nicole (:I agree. Eventually he would have found out.
Yeah, I. Yeah. Yeah, maybe she was just maybe she was just so self conscious about it that she really was like, you know what, it's not a big deal for me if I never speak French, it's fine. Like I don't, you know, I don't know. Maybe she just compartmentalized it like that, but.
Kelsie (:Honestly, it's a superpower and I commend her for keeping it her own little secret. If anything, I say good for you.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Monica (:But, like, yeah.
Ashley (:No, you know what? Actually, do now I do think there was ulterior motives. Like, like, I'm not saying she was an asshole, but like she was being a little sneaky.
Monica (:for her.
Yeah.
Kelsie (:But there are plenty of people, like I've met plenty of people who don't speak English very well but they understand it fair enough and it's like, I don't think that's a crime to like...
Nicole (:Maybe.
Yeah.
I don't think so either.
Monica (:No, but if you're in a long-term relationship with somebody and you don't ever mention that you can understand them speaking another language, like that's, that does seem suspicious to me. That's true too. For sure. I don't think, yeah, I wouldn't say, I wouldn't go as far to say that she's the asshole, but there definitely are red flags for trust both ways. Yeah. Yeah.
Kelsie (:But the fact that he never probed deep enough to find out either, like, it's a two-way street, it should have come up. It should have come up. She shouldn't have to be like, yeah, I understand French. Like, it should have come up.
Ashley (:Maybe she lied.
Nicole (:I have a question. I...
Ashley (:Mm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Kelsie (:Yeah, it's like why didn't you mention it, but I don't blame you for not mentioning it because look it, it saved you here probably.
Nicole (:question.
Look at what happened, yeah.
Monica (:Yeah, and at the end of the day, like that shouldn't have been like a make or break kind of piece in a relationship because he should have been trustworthy to begin with.
Kelsie (:Yeah, yeah, that's the thing is like if you weren't cheating and being slimy you wouldn't care that she could understand what you were saying. Yeah.
Nicole (:agree.
Yeah, you're just trying to find any issue to make yourself right. But I do have a question. She says in this, I need clarification. She says in this that he has friends or they're in a school that's mostly French speaking. is French not his native language? Is that not his first, you know what I mean? Because she says that he speaks English and then she says that he has French friends. So I'm curious, what is his native?
Ashley (:Yeah. Yes, Nicole.
Nicole (:language because if his native language is French and she's been with him for this long and Now he's just finding out Let's forget about the cheating for a second now He's just finding out however many years later that she can actually understand the language. I would be a little annoyed to not cheating aside But if it's not his first language, and it's just a language that he knows I Don't think he should have any reason to be mad at her at all
Monica (:I mean...
Yeah, although I think that
Yeah, I don't know. think that
Nicole (:Like if it's his native tongue, I would be like, yeah, I'm upset that you didn't mention that you could understand it, because I could have helped you work through learning it. But if it's just a language that maybe they both know, then I don't, at the end of the day, I don't think that he should be upset with her about this anyway, because he fucking cheated on her. But I'm just curious, like, why he's so mad about it.
Monica (:Yeah.
Yeah, but I think like, yeah, but even to that point, like I think that there's an element to that that none of us will really understand because we don't live in Europe because it's so common for people to have multiple languages that it may not have been a big thing. Whereas like I think about it in Arizona, with.
Nicole (:Yeah, that's true. Multiple languages. And that's why I'm saying, is, is, right.
Ashley (:Mm-hmm.
Kelsie (:Yeah.
Monica (:Spanish and English, like that could be a very offensive thing, you know, if somebody's family is from Mexico or something like so it could be but in Europe, like everybody has like three languages.
Nicole (:Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah.
Right. That's well, and that's what I'm saying, too. That's what I'm saying, though, too. Like it would be I could see how he would be offended if French is his native tongue. And he's like, you've understood it this whole time, but you didn't think to tell me. But if it's not his native tongue, then like you did your get fucked. Like, I mean, get fucked anyway, because you had a threesome. And.
Monica (:Yeah.
Yeah.
Kelsie (:If it came from anywhere genuine inside of him that he cared she spoke French that it would be one thing and I would say yeah you should have told him but if it solely came no no it doesn't it's completely irrelevant because it came from a place of you got caught and you're just mad me that the way you got caught you didn't realize like you're dumb like you basically are dumb because she bested you.
Nicole (:Right. Yeah, but the circumstances don't apply here. Yeah.
Monica (:Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah, no, I just... She did.
Monica (:Right. It is a very interesting thing though. I don't know, I feel like I might be kind of swaying a little bit more to, what did she do?
Kelsie (:What?
Nicole (:Did you just say bested? Did you just say bested? You've been reading too many fantasy novels.
Kelsie (:Yeah, she bested you. Yeah.
I have a very...
Nicole (:She bested him in a duel!
Ashley (:you
Kelsie (:I have a very fun vocabulary, Nicole, okay?
Ashley (:No.
Nicole (:god, it didn't.
Kelsie (:We don't want to be talking about fantasy novels right now, do we?
Monica (:Nicole's losing it. No we do not. But no, okay.
Nicole (:It wasn't out of well, hold on the thing was it wasn't out of place for me. And then I was like wait, that's not a Like it because because same because I've been in the fit like we've both been reading the same books like Wow, okay
Kelsie (:Thank
I was proud of myself. was like, wow, this is such a fun way to use my vocabulary.
Monica (:new vocab word, just like dropping it into conversation.
Nicole (:What I want to laugh about was the fact that it was not weird for me at first and then I was like, wait a second, that's not like... Okay, go on, I'm sorry, that was hilarious.
Kelsie (:You're welcome. I don't even know what was happening. I didn't either.
Ashley (:It's that weird.
Monica (:I don't think it's that weird either, but it is funny to call it.
Nicole (:Do you?
Ashley (:I've heard lots of people say that. I don't think that word is only available for duels.
Nicole (:I do. I- I do.
No, that's just where my mind goes.
Monica (:Yeah.
Kelsie (:I don't think, yeah, I don't even know. I think I would have used it anyways. I don't know that it necessarily came from all the books I've been reading lately, but it's funny. Okay. I don't know. I think I would have used it anyways, but.
Monica (:She tricked him! Like that's it. Yeah.
Nicole (:I think it did, I truly think it did. I don't know, I don't know.
Monica (:my gosh. All right. Well, I'm just going to wrap it up with saying, think he, he realized he got caught that like she's heard him say a lot more. And what else is he hiding?
Nicole (:yeah. Yeah, yeah. He's probably like, shit, how many times has she eavesdropped on me? Yeah, they're both dumb.
Kelsie (:Mm-hmm. Yeah.
Ashley (:You know what? They're dumb. Break up. Stop talking about it. Just break up. Move on with your life. Why are you on Reddit even posting this story?
Monica (:They're both dumb. Either way, that relationship was doomed. Yeah. They were doomed.
Nicole (:Yeah, yeah, you're not good for each other.
Kelsie (:I mean, yeah. Ma'am, you should not be concerned at all whether you're the asshole because it is irrelevant in this. In the future, I would advise telling your partners that you do understand their language just because I think that like, why wouldn't you want to share that? But in this particular situation, I think you didn't tell them for a reason and it saved you and here you are. And I think every...
Nicole (:No, it's.
Monica (:No. Very.
Yeah.
Nicole (:Probably smart. Yeah.
Monica (:Mm-hmm.
Nicole (:If they dated for like two weeks and she didn't want to tell him, I can understand. But like this is years down the line. yeah. But in this situation, no. Yes, I was going to say, but in this situation, it was a saving grace for her. you know, so there must have been something where she just had a gut feeling.
Monica (:Right. Even a couple months. Yeah.
Ashley (:Now they live together.
Kelsie (:You know, nothing is a coincidence and it's no coincidence she didn't tell him.
Monica (:Yeah. Yeah.
Kelsie (:Mm-hmm.
Because he would have been, if he knew she spoke French, it would have been sneakier. He would have been sneakier and who knows if she would have found out. So good for her.
Nicole (:Yeah, yes, yes, correct. Correct, ma'am. Good for her. We support her on this. She's not the asshole. He's a bigger asshole. Anyway, he's a bigger asshole. So, my God, that's funny.
Monica (:Mm-hmm. Yes, I agree.
You're right. All right.
Kelsie (:So let us know if you think that, if you agree with our assessment of am I the asshole? And with that being said, what? Okay.
Nicole (:And also, also wait, please let us know if you, please let us know if you would use the word bested, casually. And fantasy, fantasy novel, is that, do you use this word in real life or, or is that a, is that a modern term, please? Okay, anyway.
Ashley (:Is the word bested only available for duels?
Kelsie (:You
