Speaker:

Hey everybody.

2

:

Welcome back to another edition

of the Daily Bible Podcast.

3

:

Hey.

4

:

Happy Saturday and men, we

hope that you're gonna be

5

:

at Men's Bible study today.

6

:

I also hope that Mark's gonna

be at Men's Bible Study today.

7

:

Yes, we do.

8

:

Because Mark is the preacher

for men's Bible study today.

9

:

That's right.

10

:

At least in theory, he is in theory,

but he and Julie are also pregnant.

11

:

And as far as I know, last time

he and I talked, they're on

12

:

the cusp of having that baby.

13

:

And whether Mark delivers or she

delivers, we're not sure yet.

14

:

I don't think he, they're both pregnant.

15

:

They're both pregnant.

16

:

I don't think so.

17

:

Fuck.

18

:

People take issue with me whenever I

do this and I think the two are one.

19

:

I'm just saying what scripture says.

20

:

They are pregnant together.

21

:

It is as much Mark's baby

as it is Julius baby.

22

:

Yes.

23

:

Even if she's carrying it.

24

:

But Mark is incapable of being pregnant.

25

:

No one who hears that.

26

:

Thinks that, I intend to say that in

our culture, that's not true in our,

27

:

I'm saying in our Christian context,

the people that I'm saying this to

28

:

are not people that are saying, oh,

is Mark identifying as something else?

29

:

But we're posting this out on the

Innerwebs When for a Christian audience,

30

:

for believers who are listening to it.

31

:

But AI is out there, man.

32

:

And who knows what AI

is gonna do with that?

33

:

I'm I, just to be clear, I do not

think that Mark can have a baby.

34

:

Okay.

35

:

Unless you qualify a sermon as a baby.

36

:

And again, to bring this back around,

I'm hoping he can deliver The baby

37

:

called his sermon this Saturday morning.

38

:

This got really weird.

39

:

And if not, I'm gonna have to

deliver a baby on the quick.

40

:

This is, this got even weirder.

41

:

Yeah, so men, you should be there.

42

:

This was at minimum to see either

Mark have a baby or me have a baby.

43

:

Yikes.

44

:

All I gotta say is this is

really inconsiderate of Julia to

45

:

go into labor right around him

preaching in men's Bible study.

46

:

She ought to be confronted

is what I think.

47

:

I think so too.

48

:

I'm just gonna say let's be gracious.

49

:

Let's confront her after she has the baby.

50

:

Because we value our lives well on that.

51

:

Yeah.

52

:

Among many things.

53

:

Yeah.

54

:

If she's incapacitated, maybe at the

hospital when she's holding Warren in

55

:

her arms, we could say, Hey, it was

really inconsiderate for you to do this.

56

:

We really have appreciated.

57

:

If you did this at a different

time, especially if she has like IVs

58

:

and then she can't come after us.

59

:

Exactly.

60

:

Yeah.

61

:

She's bedridden for a few days.

62

:

Yeah.

63

:

Actually, I wouldn't be

surprised if Julie's I got this.

64

:

Hold this baby for me.

65

:

Mark gets up.

66

:

Works you over.

67

:

We'll send Louis.

68

:

Oh, okay.

69

:

Anyways, yeah, no, man.

70

:

We want you there on Saturday

for men's Bible study.

71

:

Today for men's Bible study.

72

:

Should be a great time as we continue

our study of the qualifications

73

:

of a godly man, which are yes,

the qualifications of an elder.

74

:

But again, as you've heard us say

multiple times that we believe

75

:

these are qualifications that.

76

:

Every man of God should be striving

after and to exemplify in their lives.

77

:

Some character related ones, I think

that Mark is gonna be covering or

78

:

you're gonna be covering today.

79

:

One of us will one of us will.

80

:

And it should be a, a good time and

good discussion afterwards oh, for sure.

81

:

Yeah, I was just talking to

Mark about these qualities.

82

:

They're fun there, there are a lot

of fun to think through, to apply.

83

:

You'd be crazy not to go to this

thing and we're gonna have some

84

:

breakfast there for you, so please

register if you haven't already.

85

:

We're doing breakfast burritos again.

86

:

Yes, but not from Valerie's oof chick.

87

:

Sadly not.

88

:

Yes.

89

:

Okay.

90

:

I don't know if we're

doing breakfast burritos.

91

:

I know it's Chick-fil-A though.

92

:

Okay.

93

:

And here's the reason why.

94

:

'cause I know some of

you're caring about this.

95

:

'cause I care about, I want

good food there too, right?

96

:

There's, there are a few places

that are willing to be open

97

:

that early for us, right?

98

:

And since we meet early,

we need to have it early.

99

:

It's just Chick-fil-A's the

best deal in the game right now.

100

:

Yep, that's true.

101

:

Jordan Low though.

102

:

He, for setup a few weeks ago,

brought McDonald's breakfast burritos.

103

:

Oh, they were good.

104

:

They're good, man.

105

:

They're okay.

106

:

So McDonald's breakfast.

107

:

Top notch.

108

:

It's so good.

109

:

I can't find a better breakfast sandwich.

110

:

Especially the McGriddle.

111

:

Ooh, no, that is so good.

112

:

Sausage McMuffin with egg.

113

:

It's great.

114

:

No, I, yeah, a hundred percent.

115

:

I love that too.

116

:

Yeah, I could eat like

10 of each of those.

117

:

Yes.

118

:

So good.

119

:

Yeah.

120

:

And yeah, we shouldn't.

121

:

Shouldn't do that.

122

:

Yep.

123

:

All right.

124

:

Let's jump into our text today.

125

:

We're still in the book of Proverbs,

and we are in chapters 13, 14, and 15.

126

:

And if you were with us yesterday,

we're gonna embrace the same style

127

:

here again, because we're not dealing

with thematic chapters, and so we can't

128

:

say chapter thirteen's about the theme

and subject of finances and chapter.

129

:

Fourteen's about the theme and

subject of, how to treat your

130

:

spouse, and so forth and so on.

131

:

We're gonna highlight some

nuggets here as we go through.

132

:

One that, that stood out to

me in chapter 13 verse four.

133

:

The soul of the sluggard craves

and gets nothing while the soul of

134

:

the diligent is richly supplied.

135

:

This is not just referring to.

136

:

The desires, the fleshly desires.

137

:

This is referring to something

spiritual, that there is a spiritual

138

:

component to Slothfulness and there's

a spiritual component to diligence

139

:

that is is worthy of our being made

aware of and paying attention to.

140

:

We want to not only crave things

physically, but spiritually, there's

141

:

something about that, that we have

to be careful against, spiritual

142

:

sloth and and make sure that we are

pursuing a spiritual diligence as well.

143

:

Amen to that.

144

:

Verse 11 says, wealth gain, hastily

will dwindle, but whoever gathers

145

:

little by little will increase it.

146

:

And I think this makes a really

good case for slowly learning how

147

:

to build financial discipline.

148

:

And that would include us and

of course include our kids.

149

:

Some people suggest giving kids

an allowance to help them learn

150

:

how to utilize the money that

God gives them, but whatever you.

151

:

Whatever you think about this, getting

rich quick is a bad move, not just because

152

:

it's often accompanied by circumstances

that are risky and inherently unwise, but

153

:

on top of that, because if you get it.

154

:

If you're one of those people

that play the lottery and you

155

:

strike it rich, you're gonna be

potentially qualified for verse 11.

156

:

Wealth gain, hastily will

dwindle and that's true.

157

:

Have you ever heard of the

lottery winner's curse?

158

:

Yep.

159

:

Most of them die and lose

it all, which is terrible.

160

:

That's sad.

161

:

We don't want that.

162

:

Scripture's wisdom is, look, if

you're gonna have wealth, you

163

:

need to learn how to utilize it.

164

:

Need to learn how to wield the tool.

165

:

'cause that's ultimately what it is.

166

:

It's a tool to be wielded and therefore,

learning how to wield it requires.

167

:

His financial sense and financial muscles.

168

:

So verse 11, such a good verse.

169

:

Yeah.

170

:

Yeah.

171

:

Let me back up to verse six.

172

:

Righteousness guards him whose way is

blameless, but sin overthrows the wicked.

173

:

Notice that sin is the actor here.

174

:

Our sin is that which reveals and exposes

us and brings destruction upon us.

175

:

And so when we look at, and we talked

about this a little bit last week,

176

:

again, when you look at that sin,

that at the outset looks so appealing,

177

:

looks so tempting, we need to remember

a verse like Proverbs 13, six.

178

:

That sin is that which overthrows.

179

:

It's victim is the wrong word.

180

:

'cause that makes us passive.

181

:

It, it overthrows the

wicket, the evil the sinner.

182

:

And so we need to look at sin

for its true nature, it is

183

:

destructive and we need to avoid it.

184

:

I'm gonna do what you did.

185

:

I'm gonna do it even further.

186

:

Chapter 13 verse.

187

:

Three.

188

:

You're like, let's go back

to chapter 12 from yesterday.

189

:

We're gonna jump back all

let's jump's back even further.

190

:

I'm just kidding.

191

:

I don't wanna do that.

192

:

We would be remiss not

to include verse 20 here.

193

:

Whoever walks at the wise becomes

wise, but a companion or the

194

:

companion of fools will suffer harm.

195

:

Sounds like a good men's retriever.

196

:

We should do this one.

197

:

This would be good.

198

:

Maybe a t-shirt.

199

:

I would be fantastic.

200

:

Okay.

201

:

Proverbs 1320.

202

:

Let's put it right on the front of it.

203

:

Yeah.

204

:

Green walking with the wise means

we become like the people that

205

:

we spend the most time with.

206

:

And so this is one of those verses that

remind us that who you give your life to.

207

:

With your time, your energy and your

resources is going to inevitably

208

:

shape you into a kind of person.

209

:

And if you're with wise people, and

if you're with wise resources like

210

:

your Bible or with Wise readings

from people who wrote about the

211

:

Bible, you're gonna become wise.

212

:

But spending time around the.

213

:

The Companion of Fools

Becoming a Companion of Fools.

214

:

And there's a lot of ways to do

that in your music, your podcast,

215

:

your movie, watching choices.

216

:

Spending time with fools will

result in harm to your own life.

217

:

So again, Solomon talking

to his son, be wise.

218

:

Spend time around people who are

wise and you'll be like them.

219

:

Spend time around those who are

foolish and suffer, and sadly, you

220

:

will suffer for that consequence.

221

:

Yeah.

222

:

Verse 24 is one that

is again, thematically.

223

:

Gonna show up time and time again in

the book of Proverbs, and that is the

224

:

subject of disciplining our children.

225

:

Whoever spares the rod hates

his son, but he who loves him

226

:

is diligent to discipline him.

227

:

And this is this is one of those

things that's real hard for

228

:

especially first time parents.

229

:

Because that kid is so cute and, cuddly

and they're the baby for the longest time.

230

:

And then there's that.

231

:

When do we get into the stage of

disciplining them and what does that

232

:

look like and how do we do this?

233

:

Yep.

234

:

Talking to new parents and others

that have said, Hey, how do you keep

235

:

your toddler or the one that's just

learning how to do things from doing

236

:

the same thing over and over again

when you tell them, no, don't do that.

237

:

You begin to afflict and

inappropriate measure the rod.

238

:

And that teaches, that corrects,

that disciplines the child and

239

:

that is gonna, graduate over

time as that child gets older.

240

:

And eventually you're going to even move

beyond physical discipline when your

241

:

son's a teenager and it's too hard to

get him over your knee anymore, dude.

242

:

But the point is that we need to afflict

some sort of pain because pain teaches.

243

:

And that is a biblical principle.

244

:

That is not something for us to be

embarrassed by, but it's a truth, it's

245

:

an act of love to inflict harm, to

inflict pain in appropriate measure.

246

:

To teach our children.

247

:

Don't do that because it's

bad for you to do that.

248

:

Yeah.

249

:

You might have heard the phrase,

spare the rod, spoil the child.

250

:

That is not a biblical phrase

in that's not the verse.

251

:

This is the verse.

252

:

Yeah.

253

:

This is the one that you've heard of.

254

:

At least people will truncate it

and try to make it more pithy and

255

:

more proverbial than it already is.

256

:

But whoever spares the rod hates his son.

257

:

This is a call, by the way.

258

:

This is what God does for us.

259

:

If you're his child he

doesn't spare the rod for you.

260

:

He disciplines you because he's a father

who delights in his children, and every

261

:

father and mother who cares about their

kids will do this because this is what

262

:

God the preeminent father does for us.

263

:

So this is a loving thing to do.

264

:

And that also will preclude then that

you're doing this in anger or that

265

:

you're doing this because you are

frustrated or because you are embarrassed.

266

:

This is an act of love for the child.

267

:

Yeah.

268

:

And not a, an act or a

reaction in anger or hostility.

269

:

Yeah.

270

:

Chapter 14, verse two says, whoever

walks in uprightness fears the Lord.

271

:

We're gonna talk about the fear of

the Lord this coming Sunday, tomorrow.

272

:

But he who is devious in

his ways, despises him.

273

:

So two things on about that,

especially the second part.

274

:

Here he is devious.

275

:

That word means to try to hide from

someone's sight, to go off track

276

:

something that is crooked or cunning.

277

:

So when we conceal our sin or when we

think that we are sinning in secret

278

:

again, we have to remember that the eyes

of the Lord roam to and fro the eyes of

279

:

the Lord are always we're living corrum

deo before the eyes of God at all times.

280

:

And when we are devious

in our ways, we despise.

281

:

God.

282

:

And I think none of us in our hearts

as believers would say that we hate

283

:

the Lord or we despise the Lord.

284

:

And yet the way that we act,

when we give quarter to sin in

285

:

our life is to do just that.

286

:

It's just to despise the Lord and

thinking that we are concealing

287

:

a wicked or evil way from him.

288

:

It's almost a double layer there

We're sinning against him by thinking

289

:

that he doesn't know, and we're also

sinning against him in the act itself.

290

:

And so that's a, a sobering

verse in verse two, for sure.

291

:

Verse 12.

292

:

There is a way that seems right to a

man, but its end is the way to death.

293

:

This is why we do the Bible podcast.

294

:

We want to know what God's word says.

295

:

Oh, we don't wanna be entrusting

our own senses or our own wisdom.

296

:

We don't want to give ourselves

only to either artificial

297

:

or well human intelligence.

298

:

We wanna trust divine intelligence

and we need God's word to do that.

299

:

And the reason I wanna highlight

this well-known passage is because

300

:

God says it twice, and if he

says it twice, I had to listen.

301

:

Pretty closely to it.

302

:

So you're gonna see this

one again in two chapters.

303

:

There's a way that seems right to

amen, but its end is the way to Death

304

:

is also found in chapter 16, verse 25.

305

:

Yeah, chapter 13 is an interest, or

verse 13 is an interesting one we just

306

:

talked about Chapter 13, verse 13.

307

:

Even in laughter, the heart may ache.

308

:

And the end of joy may be grief.

309

:

Sorrow and joy can coexist in a person.

310

:

And I think that just is a good

reminder to go a little bit deeper.

311

:

You may see somebody at Sunday that

gives you the surface answer and looks

312

:

like they've got a smile on their face.

313

:

And I think it's wise of us to probe

a little bit deeper, to ask good

314

:

questions, diagnostic questions.

315

:

And yeah we should let our yes.

316

:

Be yes and our no, be no.

317

:

As we talk with people at church

and not try to put on a fake face

318

:

100, but say what you mean to say.

319

:

But John Mayer.

320

:

We also should be willing to dig a

little bit deeper because sometimes the,

321

:

what presents initially is not really

what's going on in a person's life.

322

:

There are a ton of things that

I have in chapter 13, so I'm

323

:

just gonna, or chapter 14 too.

324

:

14 is what I meant to say.

325

:

Yeah.

326

:

So I will I'll stop talking 'cause there's

a lot here that I wanna talk about.

327

:

There, there is a lot.

328

:

I think it would be good

for us to hit on verse 14.

329

:

Let's do it.

330

:

The Backslider.

331

:

How about after that?

332

:

We do verse 15, 16, 17.

333

:

18.

334

:

18 and 20.

335

:

Yeah.

336

:

Since we've just been going in order,

basically just read the whole thing.

337

:

Yeah.

338

:

The backslider sometimes.

339

:

Part of someone's testimony.

340

:

We'll talk about, man I was

backsliding, backslidden 25 years.

341

:

Yeah.

342

:

For such a long time.

343

:

I think it, we need to be soberly

attentive to the way that the

344

:

Bible describes the backslider

and there's other situations.

345

:

But look, just at this verse right

here, the backslider in heart will

346

:

be filled with the fruit of his ways.

347

:

A good man will be filled

with the fruit of his ways.

348

:

And so here, if we think about

the book of Proverbs, the

349

:

backslider is playing the fool.

350

:

In verse 14, the backslider is

contrasted with the good man.

351

:

In, in, in other passages, the good

man is contrasted with the fool.

352

:

And so here the backslider is the fool.

353

:

He is the.

354

:

Evil person in this scenario.

355

:

And his fruit is the fruit of

wickedness, the fruit of his evil ways.

356

:

And yet the good man is contrast.

357

:

It will be filled with the

fruit of his good ways.

358

:

And so I think it's helpful for us to be.

359

:

To just take an honest assessment

of the backsliding period of time

360

:

that we will often attach to our

lives and be like, okay, were you

361

:

backslidden or were you unregenerate?

362

:

And because a lot of times there's that

moment that's after the backsliding

363

:

that somebody's and then I came back

to the Lord at this moment, and that's

364

:

when my life totally changed and I

was of a devoted fellow of Christ.

365

:

It's or.

366

:

That's when you got saved.

367

:

And this backsliding wasn't really

that you were backsliding in the sense

368

:

that you were still saved and drifting.

369

:

It's, you were backsliding, you were

drifting far away from the Lord because

370

:

you weren't with the Lord to begin with.

371

:

And I think in verse 14, he's contrasting

the backslider with the good person,

372

:

which would imply that the backslider is

the evil person in this context, I think.

373

:

Yeah, absolutely.

374

:

I think you and I are on

the same page about this.

375

:

When we would take issue with the

usage of the word backslider as

376

:

it applies to a Christian today.

377

:

Sure.

378

:

And part of the reason why is because

you don't see this in the New Testament.

379

:

The word was distinct

to Old Testament Israel.

380

:

The backslider was the rebel, the one

who was going the wrong direction.

381

:

And as we believe in a disparate we

believe in differences in the covenants,

382

:

we would say that the backslider might

have been a term that was utilized

383

:

in Old Testament Israel, but you

don't see it in the New Testament.

384

:

What you have are disciples.

385

:

You have goats, you have sheep,

you have those who are on the

386

:

right, who are righteous, those who

are on the left, who are wicked.

387

:

And so it's a little clearer for us.

388

:

Even though you might have a

period of rebellion that period of

389

:

rebellion we, I would be hesitant

to utilize a term backslider.

390

:

I'd be much more comfortable saying

You were rebelling against the Lord

391

:

and whether that communicates you

were right with him and rebelling,

392

:

or whether you are wrong with him

and just enjoying your rebellion.

393

:

I don't know.

394

:

Yeah.

395

:

I don't know.

396

:

The Lord does, but I don't think

backsliders a very helpful term.

397

:

Yeah, that's fair.

398

:

That's fair.

399

:

There's a lot more to your point

in chapter 14, note in verse 21,

400

:

whoever despises his neighbor

is a sinner, but blessed is the

401

:

one who is generous to the poor.

402

:

We're gonna talk about

that on Sunday as well.

403

:

We're talking about justice in the book

of Amos, and so we're gonna be diving into

404

:

a little bit of our relationship to that.

405

:

So there's a little bit of a teaser

for you to show up tomorrow at church.

406

:

In fact, we may even hit on Proverbs 1421.

407

:

Certainly during your community

groups, you probably will.

408

:

But yeah, there's a lot of good rich

truths here in Proverbs chapter 14.

409

:

Any before we move on to 15 that you're

like, Hey, we have to hit this one.

410

:

I tried to get us back

to 15 a few minutes ago.

411

:

Okay, fine.

412

:

Let's go on to 15.

413

:

Pastor Rod's done with the Bible.

414

:

He doesn't wanna talk about it anymore.

415

:

There's so much to talk about.

416

:

Why are you leaving already?

417

:

Why are you getting up?

418

:

Why are you so angry?

419

:

Proverbs 15, one, a soft answer.

420

:

Pastor Rod turns away wrath,

but a harsh word stirs up anger.

421

:

Was that a soft answer

or was it a harsh word?

422

:

I don't know.

423

:

I don't know.

424

:

I feel like it was an honest word.

425

:

Yeah.

426

:

That's harsh.

427

:

Yeah.

428

:

No, thi this one is this one.

429

:

I, I.

430

:

I think we all know this

by experience, right?

431

:

Oh yeah.

432

:

Even I think about customer service.

433

:

How often does it really help you to

just go off on the customer service

434

:

agent on the other end of the phone,

who has nothing to do with the

435

:

fact that your flight got canceled?

436

:

Yeah.

437

:

And yet you feel vindicated and at

the end of it, they're super motivated

438

:

to help you, and accommodate you.

439

:

And yet, if you're soft with that

person, then it can, that old the secular

440

:

proverb, you win more flies with honey.

441

:

Then vinegar.

442

:

Something about vinegar.

443

:

Yeah, something like that.

444

:

Yeah, something like that.

445

:

Anyway, similar concept here but

this applies to relationships, right?

446

:

Somebody comes at you angry.

447

:

If you will be gentle in response,

you will often diffuse that conflict.

448

:

Dude, I was in customer service.

449

:

I was on the receiving end of that, and

so a few times I remember getting so

450

:

mad with a customer because they were

treating me like I was the guy who was.

451

:

At the heart of their problems.

452

:

Yeah.

453

:

One guy yelled at me.

454

:

Yeah.

455

:

Like he just straight up, dude, I'm sorry.

456

:

Tore me a new one.

457

:

I didn't mean it was, I was so mad

at faster PI mean, this guy that

458

:

I don't wanna talk about 'cause

he might be on the podcast anyway.

459

:

Yeah.

460

:

Treat your customer service agent nicely.

461

:

It's part of our witness.

462

:

Even if they don't know that you're a

believer, it's still part of your witness.

463

:

Oh man.

464

:

Could you imagine if he was a Christian?

465

:

If he was an elder at a church

and he is oh, I just ripped this

466

:

new guy to shreds because I was

angry at whatever this thing was.

467

:

Anyway, yeah.

468

:

Yeah.

469

:

That's a good one.

470

:

That's a good, that's a good word.

471

:

Hey, there is severe discipline

for him who forsakes the way.

472

:

Whoever hates reproof will die.

473

:

I love the frankness and the

strength of passages like this.

474

:

They're so small, so subtle, so again,

elementary, but so pithy and so helpful

475

:

as I think about the kind of direction God

the father gives to us as his children.

476

:

Now, again, this is Solomon

talking to one of his sons.

477

:

Maybe r Boem.

478

:

Certainly he needed to

hear this, but he didn't.

479

:

There's severe discipline

for him over sakes of way.

480

:

So it's not just wise to do good.

481

:

It's also protective.

482

:

Again, there's a godly sense of

self-interest here that he appeals

483

:

to, and I think that's really cool.

484

:

Yeah.

485

:

We've covered some of the ones

dealing with anger, like verse 18,

486

:

a hot tempered ministers of strife.

487

:

We've talked about these before, but

just to point out again, there's.

488

:

Thematic things coming

through here, verse 22.

489

:

Without counsel, plans fail, but

with many advisors, they succeeded.

490

:

That just means we need

other voices in our life.

491

:

That's how God designed us.

492

:

He designed us to live in community,

to say, Hey, I'm thinking about making

493

:

this change in this job, or I'm thinking

about buying this house over here.

494

:

I'm thinking about doing this

over here with my family.

495

:

What are your thoughts on this?

496

:

And getting other people to

weigh in and help you see

497

:

some blind spots in your life.

498

:

That's a good and biblical

thing for us to do.

499

:

Amen to that.

500

:

If people are afraid to say things to you

because of your response that's on you.

501

:

Yeah.

502

:

You're gonna suffer for that.

503

:

Certainly we need lots

more voices in our lives.

504

:

Look at verse 15.

505

:

Now, this one stood out to me.

506

:

I memorized it 'cause I'm like, oh, I

just gotta, I gotta squeeze this lemon for

507

:

all the juice that it's in, that's in it.

508

:

Here's what it says.

509

:

All the days of the afflicted

are evil, but the cheerful of

510

:

heart has a continual feast.

511

:

Something about the disposition of

our internal person, where even if

512

:

we're going through difficult times,

we can still choose to possess a.

513

:

Cheerful heart and therefore

have a feast in the middle of

514

:

the desert, as it were, Psalm 23.

515

:

Even though I'm surrounded by my

enemies, you prepare a table before me.

516

:

You give me something to eat, you

sustain me, you supply me even in

517

:

difficult times, and I think that's

what verse 15 is giving us the sense

518

:

of God's providing, even when there's

challenging circumstances that accost

519

:

us, and that's always gonna be the case.

520

:

We're always gonna be either exiting

an affliction or preparing to go

521

:

into some kind of affliction, but you

don't have to respond in that way.

522

:

Let's be done.

523

:

There's a lot more there, but we're

up on 20 minutes on this episode yeah.

524

:

Okay.

525

:

You kept on talking, so let's pray.

526

:

God, thanks for your word, and I

just pray for the people that are

527

:

listening to this and for all of us

that we would really dig into your

528

:

word and mind it for what it's worth.

529

:

And so we thank you for the opportunity

that we have to read it, to understand

530

:

it, to understand about who you are

and some of your thoughts as we read

531

:

the pages of your word in the Bible.

532

:

And so what a privilege that is.

533

:

And remind us of that every day

we pray in Jesus' name, amen.

534

:

Amen.

535

:

Keep in your bibles.

536

:
