We cannot do what we do not know what to do. Which is very true. You want to follow God's plan for your life, but you don't know what that is. And praying it hasn't made it clear.
So what do you do when you feel stuck? I know how hard that struggle is when it comes to following God's plan for you.
That's why I put together these three things that you can do right now. Whether you're driving folded laundry or in the middle of mom like let's do this.

We'll meet you right where you are. We'll create a simple God led plan to help you move forward with the next step that he has for you.
You can book your session@michellebrannam.com the link is also in the episode description. Alright, let's dive in. As I was on my journey towards discovering my purpose, I remember feeling this nudge from the Holy Spirit.
It was a tug on my heart to discern his will for me. And I knew I wanted to follow God's plan, but I just didn't know what that was. And I felt overwhelmed. Where do I even begin?
So I did the one thing that I knew to do. I prayed. I started asking God for His plan, his purpose for me. And I wanted clarity and I wanted direction.
But then there was moments where it just felt quiet and I didn't even know what steps to take.
And eventually, through that process of seeking him, learning how to discern and walking it out, I began to understand how to actually discern his will. And through conversations with other Catholic women, I realized I. I was not alone in this.
So many women are praying and they want to follow God, but they feel stuck. And if that's you, that's why we're talking about this.
Today, I know you're already praying, but I'm going to ask you, how are you approaching your prayer? Are you asking God, what is your plan for me? Or perhaps it's God, I want to follow your plan, but I don't know what your plan is for me.
Instead of focusing on his whole plan for you, you and I should ask, what is the step that you are asking me to take? Because God, he lights the path, and a few feet ahead of us, not the entire path is lit up.
So the next time that you pray or you're having your conversation with God, just ask him to show you the next step that shifts everything. Having that perspective of entering into prayer with what is the next step you want me to take versus what is the plan?
What is that whole big picture?
So after you've asked God what is the next step that you want me to take, the next thing that you can do is to ask yourself, what can I do today to move me closer to his plan? Or what action can I take that will move me closer to knowing that next step that God wants me to take?
Because sometimes that action is seeking guidance on how to discern, sometimes it's direction on how to follow God's plan, and sometimes it's support and coaching. Having another perspective can help you see what you cannot see that's right in front of you. And we cannot do what we do not know what to do.
That's a tongue twister. We cannot do what we do not know what to do, which is very true.
So having someone guide you and help you build a proven plan, a framework to discern his will, that helps you move forward with clarity and direction. Because you have someone telling you, these are the steps, these are what you need to take so that you can discern his will.
Remember, during a coaching session with a client, she said something that just stayed with me. And she left her conversation saying that this time it gave her something to think about.
It shows us that both of us, we sometimes we need someone to guide us, to support us, and to show us what we did not see before. But sometimes we think that we can just do it all, but it becomes overwhelming instead of asking for help.
So this reminds me of the holidays when we're hosting it at our house. I'm trying to clean the house, I'm trying to take care of the kids, finish, figure out the meals, and then I realize I need help.
And this Thanksgiving and Christmas was especially hard. My grandma had passed away and we were at her service.
It was the week of Thanksgiving and every year I make pumpkin pies and pecan pies for my family. And I knew I was way over my head. So I had to reach out to my sister in law and my mom and tell them I cannot make the pies this year.
And my sister in law was already telling me. She goes, yep, I was already telling your brother, we're going to have to buy the pies this year. It's just too much for your sister right now.
And my mom had already been planning it as well. So I needed support. And discerning God's will, it can be overwhelming. The same way sometimes. We need that guidance, that support on even.
Where do we even start? And underneath all of this prayer and action is something foundational.
So now this moves me on to the third thing that you can do is spending time with God and His living word. This is very foundational that we need to start incorporating into our daily lives. If we are not.
I cannot stress this enough that spending time with him is one of the clear ways for him to speak to you. And we are reminded also in the book of Proverbs, chapter 3, 5, 6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight.
In all your ways, acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths. So we need to turn to God and not rely on our own insight or or what we think we should do.
We need to include God in this process because God is not a God of confusion. He will always lead you. He will always provide you the steps. We just need to spend time with Him.
We need to seek him for clarity because he will make that path straight.
And when we spend time with him, that is one of the ways that he can talk to you and give you that direction that you're seeking on what step to take.
And even two weeks ago in the weekly email, I was talking about wanting to know the big overall plan God has for us because we need to trust him enough to let him lead you one step at a time. And if you're listening to this and you're thinking, I need help walking through this, this is exactly what I do in the discernment coaching session.
We meet you right where you are.
We create a simple, clear next step so that you're not stuck anymore and you can learn more and book your session@michellebrannam.com coaching all right, so to recap, the three things that we talked about in this episode is we need to ask for the next step. We need to take one action and we need to seek him in his word. All right, let's take this to prayer.
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. God, you see her desire to follow your plan. If she feels stuck or unsure, meet her there. Show her the next step that you are asking her to take.
Help her to trust you, to seek you, and to move forward with clarity. Make her path straight. We. We ask you, Father, in the name of Jesus, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
All right, now let's take this from head to heart, knowing that truth is powerful, but that real change comes when we act just that one small step at a time. So the next time you're in prayer with God, ask him, what is the step that you're asking me to take?
