Speaker:

And now, this week's episode.

Speaker:

When I'm listening to podcasts,

Speaker:

I'm always interested to see how many calls to action

Speaker:

a podcaster offers.

Speaker:

Often it's multiple.

Speaker:

So for example, review the podcast, follow me on social,

Speaker:

sign up for my newsletter,

Speaker:

and follow for free on your favorite app.

Speaker:

Now while that's all well and good,

Speaker:

it does negate the effectiveness of each call to action

Speaker:

because you're asking for too many.

Speaker:

It's really important

Speaker:

when you want listeners to take an action

Speaker:

that it's clear and simple what the action should be,

Speaker:

which is why I always recommend just using one call

Speaker:

to action and making it the most effective it can be.

Speaker:

Now for me, that call to action

Speaker:

is obviously growing your podcast.

Speaker:

And while that can come from your newsletter,

Speaker:

the most effective way of growing your podcast

Speaker:

is telling people about it.

Speaker:

So for your call to action,

Speaker:

ask your listeners to recommend your show

Speaker:

to their friends, families, colleagues,

Speaker:

and other podcasters who might enjoy the show.

Speaker:

And make that your single call to action

Speaker:

both at the start and the end of the episode.

Speaker:

Reinforce it every episode,

Speaker:

so no matter whether listeners skip the start

Speaker:

or listen to the start but skip to the end,

Speaker:

you've got that call to action in there.

Speaker:

By telling people to recommend your show,

Speaker:

you're helping it grow more organically,

Speaker:

which in the long run will help your other goals

Speaker:

of growing your newsletter list,

Speaker:

growing your followers on social,

Speaker:

getting more reviews, and more.

Speaker:

So in the spirit of that, if you enjoyed this tip,

Speaker:

be sure to recommend this episode and the show

Speaker:

to your friends, family, and anyone else

Speaker:

who would enjoy the podcast.

Speaker:

Until the next time, happy podcasting.
