Blame or Credit – Wisdom Unplugged

Unplugged1-1024x609

Wisdom – the final frontier to true knowledge. Welcome to Wisdom-Trek where our mission is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.

Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1245 of our trek, and it is time for our 3-minute mini trek called Wisdom Unplugged.  This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.

Today’s quote is from Unknown, and it is, “If you blame others for your failure, do you credit others for your successes?”

Blame or Credit

When we fail, there are usually mitigating circumstances, situations, or people that attribute to that failure. It is so easy for us to point to someone or something as causing our failure. Ultimately, though, we  have to accept responsibility for the failures that we encounter in life, because, at least partially, we have contributed to that failure.

On the flip side of the failure/success coin, when we do succeed, our success is not based on our effort alone but is also attributed to the many peoples that have assisted us along life’s journey. Yes,we may be a major contributing factor to the overall outcome of our success, but we certainly cannot claim the sole credit for that success.

So the next time you start blame-shifting when you run into obstacles and failures, be aware, that you must accept that responsibility as a contributing part of that failure. The next time you attempt to hog all the glory for your victories, realize also that there are many others that have assisted you along life’s paths. Accept failure, learn from it, become successful, and share that success with all those who have helped you to achieve it.

Proverbs [15:22]

Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many advisers bring success.
