Christianity Is Who We Are, Not What We Do

By Tammy Lacock

“How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery (as I wrote afore in a few words;).” (Eph. 3:3, KJV)

Warren Litzman digs deeper into the message of Paul in his letter to the Ephesians chapter 3, verse 3.

What is the mystery revealed to Paul by Christ, Himself? The mystery is that the old, Adamic life of the believer has been “crucified with Christ” and their new life IS Christ. Christ’s seed is birthed in us; therefore, we are born again IN Christ.

When Christ died, our old lives died too. We do not live a new life of our own. We now live a new life IN Christ. Being a Christian is not living like Christ. Christianity is not defined by what we do but by WHO WE ARE. And that IS Christ! We are no longer separated from Him. What a glorious gift!

Paul, in his letter to the Colossians 1:26-27 states it clearly when he writes, “Even the mystery which hath been hid from the ages and from generations, but NOW is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

The mystery has been revealed to you through Paul. Yet, believers can’t live the Christian life until they understand and live the mystery of Christ IN them. Let us be followers of Paul, as he is of Christ, and pass this revelation on to others so it can be made known to the whole world!
