Shownotes

The current geopolitical landscape in Venezuela and Iran has reached a pivotal juncture, warranting profound examination. The recent developments in Venezuela, particularly the downfall of the Maduro regime, prompt critical inquiries into the implications for the region and the broader international community. I delve into the complexities surrounding this transition, questioning whether the emergence of new leadership will genuinely herald a departure from authoritarianism or merely replace one regime with another. Concurrently, I address the burgeoning unrest in Iran, where longstanding grievances against the clerical regime are finally manifesting in significant public outcry. This episode elucidates these intertwined narratives, exploring the intricate dynamics of power, resistance, and the quest for freedom in these two nations, while also touching upon the future of EGO NetCast and its evolving platform.

Commencing with a formal introduction to EGO NetCast, I, Martin Lindeskog, engage in a live streaming session that intertwines personal anecdotes with critical global discussions. The episode opens with my reflections on a buff I am wearing, emblematic of support for law enforcement, which serves to illustrate the personal dimensions of broader societal issues. This initial narrative sets the tone for an introspective exploration of how individual choices can reflect values, ultimately fostering a connection between personal identity and community engagement. As the discussion unfolds,

I navigate through the intricacies of live streaming logistics, sharing insights into the challenges of scheduling across different time zones and platforms. This operational aspect of podcasting not only underscores the technological hurdles faced by content creators but also highlights the evolving nature of media consumption in a digital age. The central theme then transitions to the political upheaval in Venezuela, where I provide an analysis of the recent developments surrounding the arrest of Maduro. I delve into the implications of this event, critically examining the intersections of power, human rights, and media representation. Through thoughtful inquiry, I encourage listeners to consider the complexities inherent in the narratives constructed around such political transitions.

The episode further extends to draw connections with the sociopolitical climate in Iran, exploring the universal quest for freedom and the challenges posed by authoritarian regimes. I reflect on the historical context of these struggles, invoking a spirit of solidarity among those advocating for change.

The conclusion of the episode encapsulates a nuanced perspective on the future, where I express both optimism and caution regarding the potential for democratic change in these regions. This multifaceted narrative not only informs listeners about critical global issues but also inspires a deeper engagement with the values of justice, liberty, and the role of media in shaping our understanding of the world.

Transcripts

Speaker A:

Welcome to Ego Net Cast.

Speaker A:

I am Martin Lindeskog and I have a so called buff.

Speaker A:

This is a live streaming session for future upcoming episode of Egonet.

Speaker A:

Cost 137 and.

Speaker A:

And as I'm explaining now on video and I will check if it's going live.

Speaker A:

Excuse me here.

Speaker A:

I will do a cough here.

Speaker A:

It's early in the morning and I overslept and I will talk a bit about that scheduling also.

Speaker A:

And before I go to the topic, but I have a. I have a buff so called on my face here.

Speaker A:

It's like a scarf or protection for you could have for your head and face area and mouth and it's a symbol here.

Speaker A:

So I'll talk about this topic.

Speaker A:

It has a thin blue line and that's supporting the police force and it's a blue line on this buff.

Speaker A:

And we'll come back to that.

Speaker A:

Why I have this as a symbol and I have other things also.

Speaker A:

I'm going to talk about that directly and this is then so called good audio and live streaming to explain it in the future upcoming edited episode only audio.

Speaker A:

But now I'm in front of a camera holding a hammer, a Torus hammer in plastic.

Speaker A:

And I will do this live streaming often on Thursday either on Swedish time or American time still.

Speaker A:

And I said that I will do this live streaming on Sunday.

Speaker A:

It's already now Monday Swedish time and east coast it's already Monday but still on west coast time in California it's Sunday.

Speaker A:

I put that on Facebook and talking about that I will now see and check if it's on Facebook because I had planned this two hours ago almost.

Speaker A:

So maybe it will not work because it has some.

Speaker A:

When you set up this, the API and some settings.

Speaker A:

It could be that I'm too late now.

Speaker A:

But you see here I don't see anything live on Facebook.

Speaker A:

I couldn't find this live event.

Speaker A:

Now I know that it's removing live events after 30 days.

Speaker A:

So it's something that Facebook had changed.

Speaker A:

But I can't see it.

Speaker A:

But then I will check here on my phone and see if it's on YouTube live.

Speaker A:

But I can't see it.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

So now it's stereo meta.

Speaker A:

So showing my phone here and you so and then last one I tried to distribute to was Twitter or X as it's called now.

Speaker A:

And I can't see it anywhere.

Speaker A:

So now it's only on YouTube.

Speaker A:

I could also have up to three destinations I could stream live and I have an channel also on Rumble and I will see if I could Be more active on that.

Speaker A:

And I could also do on Instagram and then you could do your own feed to other places.

Speaker A:

So I will talk to boomcaster Harry here in the New Year.

Speaker A:

And by the way, Happy New Year.

Speaker A:

It's Fire Horse or Burning Horses, Running Horse, the year of a Horse in Asian New Year here upcoming.

Speaker A:

So maybe it will be jump into the future.

Speaker A:

So talking about that then about sources about this news.

Speaker A:

I have retweeted something from a channel called a TV channel called Tusi Tusi TV and I got recommendation of that on Twitter by a Swedish could say debating female Agnes and Agnes World or Wald or she's much into education and so on.

Speaker A:

And she had said what's to cover what's happening in Iran.

Speaker A:

So it's two topics today.

Speaker A:

rst podcast that I started in:

Speaker A:

So in order to cover what's happening and this could be also follow up with the scheduling the mainstream media.

Speaker A:

Why is it hard to find what's going on in the world in certain areas and from different angles?

Speaker A:

Is it anything.

Speaker A:

Does it have anything to do with where it's coming from?

Speaker A:

The angle, the perspective and the leaning?

Speaker A:

If it's left leaning or whatever, that's something to think about.

Speaker A:

So I was saying now, because now dictator Maduro together with his wife is toppled and taken care of and is now in a prison in usa and this has been by order of Donald Trump.

Speaker A:

And I have a book here.

Speaker A:

And now it's again showing on the audio, so to speak.

Speaker A:

I bought it at the Swedish Book Fair in Gothenburg by Swedish International Liberal society or center.

Speaker A:

And here's a book from.

Speaker A:

And I'm showing now to the camera.

Speaker A:

It's from:

Speaker A:

Then some Tretnar fell over our camp in Avenue a person or that is.

Speaker A:

Yeah, don't continue or you get bored or don't have energy to continue, lose the fight or the battle about Venezuela.

Speaker A:

And now it seems that the battle is won.

Speaker A:

But is it really for the interest of America and the free world and the western world or is this chess play going on in the world?

Speaker A:

So first I was pretty happy about the news and I'm that for the record, of course this dictator that had been ruled the country for a long time should be get rid of.

Speaker A:

Then of course people talk about are you allowed to do that in this way something called the civil rights and the people's rights and the United nations and how to do it certain ways and that we could talk about history.

Speaker A:

How do you negotiate with dictatorship?

Speaker A:

And the people there have been tortured under pressure, living in dictatorship, many have fled.

Speaker A:

And Ciela, this is something that will be studied in the future.

Speaker A:

And again, why is it so little about it in western media?

Speaker A:

It's good that you have then liberal think tanks and others that write books about it and talk about it.

Speaker A:

They have been pretty quiet.

Speaker A:

I saw on Twitter here it was somebody remembered what the Communist party leader said and it's called now the left party in Sweden.

Speaker A:

What he said when Maduro won, so called when he stole the election first time around, that it was a good thing according to his view.

Speaker A:

It's similar to the historical thing here in Sweden.

Speaker A:

Many people have this idea about Cuba, how good it is there, but it's a double society or you live in different ways.

Speaker A:

If you are going there as a tourist, you're giving money, hard cash dollars to the people in power.

Speaker A:

And the people living there under dictatorship, they are suffering really hard.

Speaker A:

So now Maduro's are gone, but will it be free now and again?

Speaker A:

I think it was good that he got rid of, but who will come instead?

Speaker A:

Recently, and I don't remember her name now, but recently a person, an activist for freedom and an opposition leader won the Nobel Peace Prize in Norway.

Speaker A:

And I have some issues about this prize back in the day like people like Arafat won it from the so called people Liberation, what do you call it?

Speaker A:

Organization, terrorist organization wherein Arafat run.

Speaker A:

But also others but have been good guys like Solzhenistin, I think from Russia, from Soviet Union 1.

Speaker A:

Now this person woman won and she seems to be a great individual.

Speaker A:

The person now that's have initiated this coup or what to say, attacked against Venezuela, Trump, he wanted to win this peace prize.

Speaker A:

So could this have something to do with what is going on right now?

Speaker A:

So I said of course you're welcome to get rid of a dictator, but what's coming instead.

Speaker A:

So I watched Robert Tracynski and he's running for congress in I think it's Virginia state.

Speaker A:

And he did a great analysis.

Speaker A:

So I will include that in the show notes you could say on here on YouTube and then also in the show notes in the forthcoming edited episode of EGO NetCast podcast number 137.

Speaker A:

So and there you will have something to think about that what he's doing, especially how he did it so he didn't talk to the Congress, they didn't have a discussion.

Speaker A:

He did this with his power.

Speaker A:

And it's all about in a way oil.

Speaker A:

And I have no problem with that either.

Speaker A:

In a way you could talk about how oil countries, so called in the Middle east who invented that, the technology.

Speaker A:

It was western companies and there it was overtaken by state owned companies and the rulers were in Saudi Arabia and other places.

Speaker A:

That's something to not be dependent on that.

Speaker A:

Instead you should support oil countries like Norway, Canada and others.

Speaker A:

I think so it has something to do with oil and the same thing back in the day in Iraq.

Speaker A:

Instead of going after Iran, they went to USA after Iraq and said it was about these weapons of mass destruction.

Speaker A:

Instead it was probably a political power play.

Speaker A:

So that's something to think about.

Speaker A:

A comedian and he's on Snapchat, YouTube and others having a show called Left center Right I think it's called something like that.

Speaker A:

He went through that pretty good way.

Speaker A:

What it's all about again I'm happy that Maduro's are gone.

Speaker A:

But the thing is who will be in place and it seems that it is somebody that is like seeing your politician in this dictatorship rule mob organization.

Speaker A:

So it's not this Nobel prize winner coming from that party or something like that.

Speaker A:

And that could be that now this will be like almost like this mob thing and a loyal person position to Americas and others.

Speaker A:

So what will happen with the freedom in Venezuela and we will see.

Speaker A:

But it's interesting how this chess game is playing out and at the same time then things are happening in Iran at last.

Speaker A:

And this has been after the so called revolution there by the Ayatollah Khomeini, the dictatorship there by the mullahs and the clerics and the religious people that have had country going backwards for a long time and living under the Sharia law.

Speaker A:

So things are happening now and it had been boiling for a long time.

Speaker A:

I could mention that John Cox and Alan Forkham of Cox and Forkham had an editorial cartoonist series cartoons on Iran.

Speaker A:

They are still valid and very newsworthy and actual you could say so at last it's happening now here.

Speaker A:

And then I found this two seat TV and so it was over one hour and talking about that I will try to do this short and sweet.

Speaker A:

It's we'll see here how long I've been babbling and talking.

Speaker A:

But yeah around 15 minutes or something like that.

Speaker A:

So before when it had been pressured.

Speaker A:

It needs the moral support, especially the youth, a student movement needs to see that they have support from a Western world and the free world.

Speaker A:

Because Iran is sponsoring the clerics and the mullahs.

Speaker A:

The politicians there are sponsoring terrorism.

Speaker A:

What's going on like in Lebanon and in in Middle east like Hezbollah and others.

Speaker A:

It's coming from Iran.

Speaker A:

So this, if it's going in the right way, it will be very interesting how this will play out.

Speaker A:

For example for Lebanon.

Speaker A:

If that could be free and peaceful, it will be very interesting.

Speaker A:

So that's why Venezuela happened because they have had supporting and backing by there Iranians like the politicians and the people in power there.

Speaker A:

So now it says out there in the Times, I think of the British newspaper that the clerics and the mullahs and Ayala Tollah Khomeini and his inner circle of like 20 people family and.

Speaker A:

And people in his closest circle politicians are planning to take a helicopter and go to.

Speaker A:

Could you have a guess?

Speaker A:

To Moscow in Russia because it's the distance there.

Speaker A:

It's pretty close to do that.

Speaker A:

Maybe it will be more convenient to go to Afghanistan for example.

Speaker A:

But now this is probably happening.

Speaker A:

And then they will bring out the cash, all the documents there that's important for them and other things and the access that they have with different estates and properties and so on that they have taken and stolen from people in Iran.

Speaker A:

So it will be interesting how that plays out if Iran really will be free now and then individuals like Riyasa Pahlavi and others could come back and set up a secular society after elections.

Speaker A:

And that will be really interesting to see what's going going on.

Speaker A:

So yeah, I think that's what's happening right now.

Speaker A:

And I'm trying to do this on again try to do it on a regular basis.

Speaker A:

Testing this live streaming.

Speaker A:

I'm more for audio and edited episode but to ventilate a bit.

Speaker A:

And often when I could do it on Thursdays like Thor's Hammer or is it really a storm in a teacup or you have this other expression also that you have in a teacup or in a teapot.

Speaker A:

Is it lots of talk about nothing or is it really important?

Speaker A:

And we'll see how this will pan out to use this boomcaster service doing live and then distribute it to destinations like YouTube and I will see how it will work with others.

Speaker A:

It will be nice if I could do it on Twitter and X also.

Speaker A:

So we'll see see about that.

Speaker A:

I will take another C pair of tea.

Speaker A:

Cheers.

Speaker A:

And I had also on the subject title.

Speaker A:

It will be for the episode future Home of Ego Netcast and I had that planned in this.

Speaker A:

I think last year it was in the spring and now I've taken a step to go to a service called Beamly and it's former called podcast Podcast Page or podcasting page IO and it's a service for podcasters that you could use simple website or page but you could have different like a homepage and different tabs for different sections.

Speaker A:

And automatically now with live streaming it's not going up there.

Speaker A:

I think maybe it could be that I could do the settings connect it with YouTube but then it's published by the podcast hosting company Captivate.

Speaker A:

When I upload it there and I will do that during this week it will automatically populate.

Speaker A:

So it will become a post on Beamly and it's programmed at a very search engine optimization.

Speaker A:

And you could do some other things like call to actions.

Speaker A:

You could have a feature there that you as a listener could have do an response giving me construct constructive feedback and doing a voice message.

Speaker A:

It's also that you could follow the podcast before it was called subscribed subscribe to podcast.

Speaker A:

And also you could have blog posts and others and also like support page for donations and so on.

Speaker A:

This service is costing a bit.

Speaker A:

So with Squarespace that I built it my first page there on for Egonet cost it was lower in cost but I did it myself built that and I like that I was able to do that.

Speaker A:

But now I think I will shift over to Beamly.

Speaker A:

So if you want to support me in this covering cost and I think this could be good for spreading the good word and continue with my podcast here Ego Netcast and I will come back with that with the name Netcast.

Speaker A:

It is a podcast doing this live on the net distributing to YouTube.

Speaker A:

Then it's really a net the Internet.

Speaker A:

This live streaming session is on Internet.

Speaker A:

So I will think about topics and doing it pretty short and sweet commentary.

Speaker A:

Commentary on use, going on ventilating and also as my name in Latin Ego.

Speaker A:

I am talking about things that's important for me and see what will happen in future.

Speaker A:

As said before, as a new media advisor I said start with one podcast.

Speaker A:

I personally have several ones.

Speaker A:

Some are laboratory tests, archived post and so on.

Speaker A:

And some are pretty active.

Speaker A:

And as ending as a personal note here, I've had some issues struggling some challenges in my life, in my personal life, in my health and well being and so on.

Speaker A:

But I see the light in the tunnel so to speak.

Speaker A:

And this year will improve in different ways.

Speaker A:

Now we'll come back more about that on my latest one of my latest podcasts called Pluck the Day and also Swing that gig.

Speaker A:

And then for new media and podcasting 2.0 I will do a regular show where called Tea Party Media Teapoty Media.

Speaker A:

So and then I have some others also.

Speaker A:

I will come back with that in the near future.

Speaker A:

So again thanks for watching here live and we'll see if it will be on LinkedIn.

Speaker A:

Also I haven't checked it now because it was recording or streaming a bit late, so maybe that didn't work out.

Speaker A:

But it is on YouTube at least, so that's good.

Speaker A:

So thanks again and talk to you soon again.

Speaker A:

Bye for now.

Speaker A:

Cheers.
