Welcome to Day 605 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.

This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom

Live In the Present – Wisdom Unplugged

Live in the present 1

Thank you for joining us for our 5 days per week wisdom and legacy building podcast. This is Day 605 of our trek, and it is time for a 3-minute mini-trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.

Today’s quote is from Budda who said, “The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.”

Our health is impacted dramatically by the amount of stress that we allow to reign in our lives. Much of the time we are stressed by situations that we have no control over, such as the past and the future.

The past is behind you, there is nothing you can do to change the bad days, and you cannot relive the good days. You can only wisely apply the lessons that were taught to you by the past. If mistakes were made, do not repeat them again. Let the past be your teacher, but it is no longer your master.

Live in the present 2

Do not worry about tomorrow, for no one knows what tomorrow will bring you.  Prepare and plan the best that you can with the time and knowledge you have, but do not invent problems that may not even happen.

Live fully today with wisdom and integrity. Live with intentionality. Live to make a difference in the lives of those that you have the opportunity to impact. If you live fully today, your past will be your stepping stone, and your future will take care of itself.  The Apostle Paul wrote in his letter to the Ephesians 5:15-17, “So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.”

Live in the present 6

So live every day in such a manner that you make the most of every opportunity. It is then you will be living a life with wisdom.

That’s a wrap for today’s Wisdom Unplugged. If you enjoy these quotes, I have created and published a searchable database of over 10,000 quotes that I have collected for many years. If you would like free access to my database of inspirational quotes, the link is available on the main page of Wisdom-Trek.com.

Just as you enjoy these nuggets of wisdom, please encourage your friends and family to join us, and then come along tomorrow for another day of our Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.
