Our baptismal vocation as missionaries in the world: this can sometimes feel challenging. Don’t worry: for St Paul too! “It was our God”, he says in the First Reading, “who gave us the courage to proclaim his Good News to you in the face of great opposition.” This is part of the origin of our fearlessness and so freedom - God’s grace. Yet there is another: we preach the Gospel - because we love the others. As again he says: “we felt so devoted and protective towards you, and had come to love you so much, that we were eager to hand over to you not only the Good News but our whole lives as well.” If we love others then, with prudence, we will proclaim the Gospel to them, and share with them our beautiful Christian life.
