God. Is 43:1–2. Hi, it’s Nathan. This is day 17 of 30 days of promise. Fear. It’s a reality that has haunted the human story ever since Adam and Eve at the forbidden fruit. It’s something we face every single day. Some fear is protective. Some is a minor annoyance. Then there’s debilitating fear. That deep fear that decapitates relationships, or sabotages careers. That fear that drives us to hurting ourselves or others. Often, fear dominates our lives to a debilitating level. Are you afraid? Of what? Name it specifically. Spell it out to God. Ask him to break its power in your life--and then thank him that he has redeemed you. That he knows you on a first-name basis, and called out to you in the middle of your fear, reminding you of your immeasurable personal value to him. The raging storms of fear cannot decimate you as you rest in his unchanging love. Rest dear one—let Jesus calm that crippling fear.
