Don’t miss:

  • Ian discusses how people have learnt to walk again by circumventing the spinal cord in order to find a way to work.
  • That there are sections of the brain that renew, but the brain regenerates most of its cells. It is that we have it. And it exists for their benefit.
  • Ian explains how this low-grade rage, which is the most corrosive, is the most detrimental.
  • And how you can convert a negative mood into positive energy.

About the Host:

Ian Hawkins is the Founder and Host of The Grief Code. Dealing with grief firsthand with the passing of his father back in 2005 planted the seed in Ian to discover what personal freedom and legacy truly are. This experience was the start of his journey to healing the unresolved and unknown grief that was negatively impacting every area of his life. Before we start by one request, if any new insights or awareness land with you, during this episode, please send me an email at info at the and Hawkins coaching.com. And let me know what you found. I know the power of this work, I love to hear the impact these conversations have. Okay, let's get into it.

You might have heard how the body repairs itself to the point where our cells reproduce, constantly dying and then reproducing. You might have heard that happens every seven to 10 years or where our cells recreate? Well, it's a little bit more detail than that in something like the stomach, the cells reproduce within two to seven days, the skin two to three weeks, things like the bones may take as long as 10 years. But effectively, the body is continuing to renew itself. So the moment you stop a particular behaviour that's having an adverse impact on your physical health, the body starts to heal itself. So that's why when we detox from something, we start to feel better. Sometimes we initially feel worse because the body doesn't start repairing it might send certain things to certain areas. But you look at the example of the liver for example. The liver is such a powerful self healer. So that we can do it all sorts of damage. And then it can repair itself if we give it the right space, the right conditions and, and be in the right place mentally and emotionally to allow that to happen as well. It's really fascinating. Like, it's amazing what the body will do. The mind is similar. So while the brain cells, there are parts that regenerate, but mainly the brain. It's we've got it. And it's there for the good, right. But there's also all sorts of new understandings around how the brain works and the plasticity of it and rewrite rewiring neural pathways. So we may not regenerate in the same way that other parts of the body does. But the brain learns to perform tasks in a different way. And I'm talking even to the point of people have learned to walk again, bypassing the spinal cord to, to find a way to work. So it's a fascinating space. So I just want to make that clear, so that you can understand that from a scientific perspective, because what I want to talk about is that the same toxic nature that we carry in our body also happens when we hang on to anger. Now, you might recognise there are certain moments, the big anger, the big things that really annoy you that they're they're easy to process, right? And you tend to find ways to do that. Because whether it's venting or speaking to someone or expressing it through something physical, you're able to get it out. But it's that low grade anger, which causes the most toxicity. If you think about it like a cup, every time you have one of those moments where you're like, oh, yeah, that really pissed me off, but you know, whatever, and you kind of dismiss it, then that cup fills up with a bit more of that anger, low grade stuff, but what happens is that you keep doing it, you keep saying, there's another thing, oh, that's all good. So I'm not gonna let that bother me. You may even start to recognise some of these phrases you've used yourself, right? It's not that big a deal. It doesn't matter. Other people have got it worse off all those different things. And what happens is, is that that cup continues to fill up and fill up and fill up until it overflows, bursts out the top. And that's where we have those big reactions. And that might be a mental breakdown, an emotional overwhelm, and also

a physical injury. And what tends to happen is that we carry it as a pain, inflammation, or we carry it as weight, excessive weight. And then we wonder why We changed all these different behaviours. And instead, we still can't seem to shift the pain and all the weight. Now, there is a way to change that similar to creating an environment where your body starts to repair itself physically by stopping a different habit. So it's the same thing with this, we can rewire your whole system, and not just remove that buildup of toxic anger at low grade frustration and anger, but we can actually turn it into a fuel. Amazing, right. This is something I've been taking my clients through in the last month. And I want to share a couple of specific bits of feedback that I've got. So this is from a client of mine, John, here in Sydney. And he said, Ian, Ian, and I went through the anger repair training a couple of weeks ago, he was very relaxed, has a very relaxed manner and new sessions, so I feel completely at ease after some discussion on anxiety and anger, and how they feel and how they affect me and guided me through a visualisation that turned the feelings into power. For me, it was imagining the negative energy going down my arms and dissolving in my body, I felt I felt it at the end of my arms and subconsciously made some fists, not in anger, but more of a superpower type feeling. I really felt that it turned a negative emotion into positive energy. I've continued using this technique when I feel triggered or anxious or angry. And it definitely works. Turning things that challenge you into something that gives you strength and power is pretty awesome. I'm really grateful to him for teaching and guiding me through this process. Pretty cool, huh? And then there's just this one from another one of my clients in Adelaide, Karina and excuse the language but she was adamant that this had to be in such a such a simple but powerful process to turn something that felt like shit to something that feels so fucking good. And she said to me that that's all that's all you need to say. That's that's the impact. And so I've heard lots of this feedback from from clients in recent weeks. And it's not just repairing, but it's like turning it into fuel. And others have talked about the, the removing procrastination, they found more productivity. The exhaustion has shifted into something that's energising them. They feel restored, they feel calm. And this is the power of the anger repair repair training. I'm offering all of my podcast listeners the opportunity to receive the anger repair training framework. So I can let you know what it is and the impact that it has, and how it works. So if that's something you're interested in, reach out, either on my email, which you hear in the in the closer there, or by any of my social media platforms am Hawkins coaching. I'm also running a training. So if you're listening to this, the week that it comes out, it's within this next week, right? So it's June 28. If you're listening to this later, don't worry because I'll be running it again regularly. And same thing, reach out. If you if you take the framework, there'll be information there to help you find the training. If you're ready for the training straight up, just know that the training is a paid training. So this is something that I'll be throwing a fair bit of energy into, and it will be a massively beneficial process for you, training for you to reach out, and I'd love to share with you this really powerful tool so you can add it to your toolkit to take you to where he is, wherever it is. You're heading to speak to you soon.
