Shownotes

Today, we're having a general chat about private, public, and mixed models of ownership. What are the pro's and con's of each model, and what are the opportunities for investors when some public assets get into private hands. What are some of the dangers when it goes the other way around?

Lastly, I don't think anyone can say this is a commercially clever move. But it begs the question: Why when the profits are 1/10th of what just one bank in NZ makes (ASB), is it so important that $2.1bn of our taxes need to be spent on this (especially during this time!). I can own shares in the holding company of some of other banks (I do in fact!), but not Kiwibank.

Everyday Kiwi's don't own Kiwibank - the government does.
