Working with colors in our decorating can be fun . . . and it can also really, really frustrate us! I’m Dan Hansen and this is a Minute at RepcoLite.
We’ve been talking about how bold paint colors can give us some trouble when we’re painting. We see them on small chips or in photographs and they look great. Then we see them on our walls and we find ourselves immersed in all that color and it can be jarring! So, we’ve talked about a number of ways to make the best choice. One more tip we consider to be essential is sampling.
Benjamin Moore makes ½ pint samples and you can get them in any Benjamin Moore color for right around $5. After you’ve narrowed your color options down, pick up a sample ½ pint and paint as much of your wall with it as you can. Normally, we’d suggest you paint a small square on the wall, but if you’re looking at a bold color or making a big jump, it’s best to look at as much of the color as you can. It’s best to find out sooner rather than later if that color’s going to burn out your retinas! We’ll have one last simple tip next time. I’m Dan Hansen and that’s a Minute at RepcoLite.
