Kasim:

Should you hire an agency, or a freelancer, or hire in house?

2

:

It depends.

3

:

It depends on a myriad of factors,

and lucky for you, and lucky for

4

:

me, those factors are quantifiable.

5

:

So, I quantified them.

6

:

You can visit a link that's in the

description of this video in order

7

:

to download this free resource.

8

:

When you download the resource, you're

going to get this guide which will

9

:

explain you exactly how the resource

works, and then you can click on this

10

:

handity dandity link which will bring

you here, and if you want to create your

11

:

own, just click on file and make a copy.

12

:

So once you've made a copy,

this is your document.

13

:

You can change it however you want.

14

:

You can even change my values.

15

:

I don't recommend doing so because

they're perfect, but you could, if

16

:

you want to, here's what I've done.

17

:

I've listed all the categories

that I think these are all the,

18

:

levels of analysis upon which

we're going to base our decision.

19

:

cost.

20

:

Risk, integration, speed, priority,

proficiency, proactiveness, cost.

21

:

How much does this resource cost you?

22

:

How expensive are they?

23

:

Risk.

24

:

How big a risk is it for you to

rely solely on this research?

25

:

Integration.

26

:

How well does the resource integrate

with your existing team, your business?

27

:

How fast are they going

to be able to move?

28

:

Will they be prioritizing your

project and to what degree?

29

:

How proficient are they

going to be at their jobs?

30

:

And how proactive are they going to be?

31

:

And what I've done is I've rank

ordered the resources in terms

32

:

of first, second and third place,

but it's a little counterintuitive

33

:

because first place gets three points.

34

:

Second place gets two points

and third place gets one point.

35

:

So we're basically saying for

each of these levels of analysis,

36

:

is most valuable and then

applying a factor to that value.

37

:

So for in house, for instance, an in

house resource is going to be far more

38

:

expensive than a freelancer or an agency.

39

:

And so the in house

resource gets one factor.

40

:

Let's say the agency gets two

because they'll be less expensive

41

:

than an in house resource.

42

:

And then the freelancer gets three

because the agency will be less

43

:

expensive, or excuse me, the freelancer

will be less expensive than both the

44

:

in house resource and the agency.

45

:

For risk, an in house

resource is far riskier.

46

:

This is, employee that you're going

to have to manage, you're going to

47

:

be solely responsible for, you have

to carry all the business insurance.

48

:

They're not going to necessarily

be, staying up with, Trends

49

:

and continuing to be educated.

50

:

their knowledge atrophy

is faster than anybody's.

51

:

The agency has the least amount of risk.

52

:

'cause you have a whole business

that's willing to say, Hey, take it.

53

:

Got it.

54

:

Infrastructure standard

operating procedures, oversight.

55

:

And then a freelancer's gonna

be, I think, a little less risky

56

:

than an in-house resource, but a

little more risky than an agency.

57

:

Now, integration, an in-house

resource is gonna be.

58

:

The best, obviously, they're going

to know your business inside and

59

:

outside, out front and center.

60

:

They're going to integrate with

all of you, the rest of your team.

61

:

They're going to be in the office,

either physically or proverbially,

62

:

if you're remote they're

going to integrate far better.

63

:

A freelancer is going to not integrate

as well as an in house resource,

64

:

but better than an agency will.

65

:

And this value applies across the board

for integration, speed and priority

66

:

and in house resource wins across the

board for this little value stack here.

67

:

And yet we sort of reverse trend when it

comes to proficiency and proactiveness.

68

:

In house resources are not going

to be as proficient as an agency,

69

:

I don't care what you say.

70

:

And they're not going to be as proactive.

71

:

Employees aren't as proactive as

the outsourced models, obviously.

72

:

Because you have to be the one to

manage the employee in the agency.

73

:

It's not that their employees are

going to be more proactive than your

74

:

employees, as much as it is that the

agency's structure is built around

75

:

making sure they maintain proactivity.

76

:

So you'll notice the freelancer tends to

land here in the middle and then the polls

77

:

are for the in house team in the agency So

what you need to do is come over here and

78

:

decide how important each of these factors

are for you You might say, you know what?

79

:

I'm rich or this is really important

And so cost, you know from zero to

80

:

five zero being not important at all in

five being important cost is important

81

:

but it's not like a deal breaker.

82

:

So I'm going to put a one here.

83

:

Let's actually put a two risk,

superty duperty important.

84

:

I'm going to put a five don't

want to go at risk at all.

85

:

Integration, I don't have an

exceptionally complex in house structure.

86

:

And so integration is not going

to be really all that important.

87

:

Speed might be, it's mid range.

88

:

Proficiency is absolutely important.

89

:

Proactivity is absolutely important.

90

:

with those scores in mind, Oh, look,

an agency is what you should hire.

91

:

Now you're going to say, of

course you're going to say that.

92

:

Dope, you're an agency.

93

:

And that's why I started

the way that I started.

94

:

this particular context, an agency ranks

first, a freelancer ranks second, and

95

:

then an in house staff ranks third.

96

:

However, we can turn this all around.

97

:

you might end up saying you

know what, actually Cost is

98

:

not at all important to me.

99

:

It's also really basic,

straightforward campaign.

100

:

So I don't think that

there's a ton of risk here.

101

:

However, I really need somebody

who's integrated with my team can

102

:

move really fast and it's going to

make me the number one priority, but

103

:

because it's not complex, I don't

need somebody who's super proficient.

104

:

I would like them to be proactive.

105

:

I can probably manage that on myself.

106

:

And now look.

107

:

The in house resource is the

best example or the best option.

108

:

feel free to play with this.

109

:

And again, you can change my values.

110

:

You can determine whatever factor you

want and how you think agencies might

111

:

interface from a cost perspective.

112

:

You might say, I actually can get

cheaper in house resource than the

113

:

agency would cost me or whatever it is

that you want to do, but just have a

114

:

matrix, have a decision making matrix.

115

:

And by the way, you can use this

for anything, everything, all

116

:

the things, not just Google ads.

117

:

This is a good decision making

matrix just across the board.

118

:

So I hope this is helpful.

119

:

I love you dearly and deeply,

and I'll see you tomorrow.
