Shownotes

Dr. Jill Carnahan, MD is board-certified by the American Board of Integrative Medicine (ABOIM) and Your Functional Medicine Expert®. She uses functional medicine to help patients find the root cause of their illness and identify nutritional and biochemical imbalances that may be contributing to their symptoms.

Dr. Carnahan grew up in a midwestern farming family with a strong desire to change the medical system from within. However, she faced an uphill battle that was much larger than grades, analytical thinking, and accolades. At 25 years old, Dr. Carnahan became one of the youngest women diagnosed with an aggressive stage of breast cancer at Loyola Medical School.

In this episode, we discuss Dr. Jill Carnahan’s journey from surviving breast cancer and Crohn’s disease to mold toxicity. We get a better understanding of how these experiences have shaped her philosophy and the way she practices medicine. Dr. Carnahan also highlights the importance of creating an optimal space for healing (or healing space), which is what traditional medical clinics lack.
