I think I’ve mentioned it before, but in case I haven’t, this podcast has been over a year in the making. What took me so long? My mindset. I let fear and the belief that I couldn’t possibly share what I know, because it’s not enough, keep me from actually hitting record.
Until I pushed that fear aside and decided to reach for my goals.
My mindset initially was that I didn’t have the time to take on the commitment of podcasting. Because for me, that’s what a podcast is. It’s a commitment to your listeners to provide consistent, tangible content that helps move someone else forward in business and/or life.
I have four kids, a husband, a business, and so many other responsibilities. I didn’t think I could possibly add another commitment to my plate, but you know what? My business goals require a bit of content creation. They require me to put my knowledge out there so that others can start sustainable podcasts that fuel their business marketing.
… and I don’t have the time to write all of these thoughts out from scratch.
So here I am, finally making this podcast happen and I couldn’t be happier about it. It’s not perfect, but it’s done and I know that there are people out there listening and gaining the knowledge.
My biggest tip for overcoming mindset blocks that are based on fear, is to just do the thing, and if you’re paralyzed, get some input and insights from your accountability buddies. (If you don’t have an accountability buddy, hit me up!)
