What You Should Know about Mammograms

Welcome to A Couple of Rad Techs Radiology Podcast, where we bring you an inside look at the world of radiology, from the unique perspective of a married couple of radiologic technologists.

We know that as a woman over 50, you may have concerns and questions about your breast health, and that's why we're here to provide you with the essential information you need to know before scheduling your mammogram.

Mammograms are a crucial diagnostic tool for detecting breast cancer early, and we believe that every woman should prioritize regular mammograms as part of their preventative healthcare routine. In this episode, we will discuss what mammograms are, how they work, and what to expect during the procedure.

We'll also address common misconceptions and concerns about mammograms, such as the fear of pain, radiation exposure, and false-positive results. By providing accurate information and dispelling myths, we hope to encourage more women to prioritize their breast health and get regular mammograms.

In addition to discussing mammograms, we'll also touch on other aspects of breast health, such as breast self-exams, risk factors for breast cancer, and when to seek medical attention. We'll also share some tips and resources to help you make it a regular practice to schedule your mammograms.

Our guest speaker, Robyn Graham, a podcast host and doctor of physical therapy, and she will provide her personal insights and answer frequently asked questions about her experience with getting her yearly mammograms. She will also share how she helps her listeners manage anxiety and more!

Finally, we'll wrap up the episode with some practical advice for women who may be nervous or hesitant about getting a mammogram. We'll provide tips on how to prepare for the appointment, how to manage discomfort during the procedure, and how to stay calm and positive while waiting for results.
