If you’re using the built-in microphone on your laptop, it’s time to upgrade your microphone.

While you can choose between USB and XLR microphones, it is often best to use an XLR mic. Although XLR mics do require more expensive equipment, including an audio mixer or cloudlifter to power them, you typically get better sound compared to a USB microphone.
