This is Journey with Prayer, a contemplative prayer journey
Speaker:corresponding to our episode Leading Differently Together
Speaker:with Kath Lippsy.
Speaker:That the one who prophesies strengthens others,
Speaker:encourages them, and comforts them. 1st
Speaker:Corinthians 143.
Speaker:Our father, you who communicate
Speaker:your love and your purposes through the fellowship of believers,
Speaker:we approach your throne with hearts full of gratitude.
Speaker:You are the God who speaks, who engages, who
Speaker:reveals the wits, the heights, and the depths of your heart
Speaker:to your children. And we give thanks
Speaker:for the way your spirit continues to move,
Speaker:empowering us to speak words of strength, encouragement,
Speaker:and comfort to one another.
Speaker:In the quiet of our souls, we recognize the
Speaker:whisper of your voice, calling us to deeper
Speaker:understanding and greater compassion.
Speaker:You have not left us without guidance, but you have given us your
Speaker:word that speaks, and you've given us the gift of prophecy
Speaker:to edify the body of Christ and to manifest your
Speaker:kingdom here on earth. And we
Speaker:celebrate the beauty of this gift and we pray for the courage
Speaker:to use it, to glorify your name. As
Speaker:Paul exhorts us, we eagerly desire the gift of prophecy.
Speaker:And we lift up our brothers and sisters who are searching for
Speaker:your presence, longing to hear your voice in their lives,
Speaker:those who don't even know that they can hear your voice.
Speaker:You said my sheep hear my voice. So
Speaker:may their spirits be attuned to your gentle
Speaker:And we ask that your love and wisdom flow through us,
Speaker:enabling us to strengthen the fainthearted, uphold
Speaker:the weary, and speak life into the places of
Speaker:despair. God
Speaker:of all comfort, we ask that you would mold our hearts
Speaker:to reflect the image of your son. May we be
Speaker:vessels of your peace, carriers of the hopeful
Speaker:message that you've entrusted to us.
Speaker:Teach us to wield the prophetic with humility and
Speaker:with reverence, attentive to the needs of those
Speaker:around us, and eager to build up your church in
Speaker:unity and in love. And
Speaker:we pray all this knowing that you are at work
Speaker:in us and through us. May we be receptive
Speaker:to your transformative power, ready to respond to the
Speaker:call of your spirit with willing hearts. In
Speaker:Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Speaker:So as you go through your week, I wanna encourage you.
Speaker:Take the time to reflect. Reflect on 1st
Speaker:Corinthians 143. Ponder how the gift of prophecy is
Speaker:designed to strengthen, encourage, and comfort others.
Speaker:Journal any insights you receive about how you can embody these
Speaker:aspects in your daily interactions. Number 2,
Speaker:2, engage. Take time in your local prayer group,
Speaker:house group, gathering with friends, and take a little
Speaker:bit of time of listening to God and sharing prophetic
Speaker:encouragement with one another. Experience firsthand
Speaker:the way that prophecy can build up the church community,
Speaker:strengthen
Speaker:a personal understanding of the way God wishes to use you to
Speaker:strengthen, encourage, and comfort others through prophetic
Speaker:insights. Number 2, you can intercede
Speaker:for the church and broader faith community, praying that prophecy
Speaker:would be embraced in a manner that is healthy, grounded
Speaker:in scripture, and beneficial for the edification of the
Speaker:church. Number 3, seek god's
Speaker:refinement in your own character, asking for grace to be
Speaker:a source of Godly encouragement and comfort. Be an expression
Speaker:of the heart of Jesus to those around you. You can
Speaker:check the show notes for these references, prayers, and scriptures,
