Shownotes

“We have to make it safe so that the visionary can have ideas, and the team can all come together and gut check against our goals and our plan as a company; and it's not just saying yes to the visionary,” explains Jamie Munoz, visionary and founder of Catalyst Integrators, a fractional integrator firm that provides support to companies running on EOS (the Entrepreneurial Operating System). Today, Jamie joins host Kiley Peters to talk about outsourcing and delegating for visionaries.

For many entrepreneurs and start-up companies, the owner is often wearing multiple hats and performing the functions of both the visionary and the integrator. Eventually it comes time to delegate some of that work so that they can free up time to focus on what they do best. By bringing in a fractional integrator, there is then part time support to help the visionary not only make their ideas actionable, but also ensure those ideas stay aligned with the company’s overall goals. It can be really difficult for visionaries to get their ideas out of their heads and clearly convey exactly what they want to their teammates. The integrator can be a big help in that regard, making sure that everyone is on the same page, and creating a safe environment for teammates to speak up if they do not agree with the visionary’s plan.

Are you a visionary with a lot of ideas that you are struggling to execute yourself? It may be time to delegate, and an integrator can help make that process smoother so that you can stay on track to reach your goals. Learn more about the function of fractional integrators and how they can act as a thought partner to make your visions a reality.

Quotes

  • “One of the main things that we do as with all of our companies is we're looking to uplevel their leaders as leaders. We're coming in to bring in tools, best practices, coaching, all of the things that that visionary and the leadership team need to grow them as better leaders.” (9:57-10:20 | Jamie)
  • “If we're unclear on what success looks like, or what the bigger why or bigger vision is, we can't make the right decisions.” (11:26-11:33 | Jamie)
  • “Our number one asset is our people on our teams. So how are we making sure that we have a people strategy aligned with our vision to help us accomplish our goals?” (12:17-12:26 | Jamie)
  • “We have to make it safe that the visionary can have ideas, and so can the team, but we can all come together and gut check against what's our goals and our plan as a company; and it's not just saying yes to the visionary.” (16:27-16:39 | Jamie)
  • “The hardest thing about being a team member is feeling like you can't push back. It's scary and oftentimes they don't. But your integrator will and has to.” (16:43-16:53 | Jamie)
  • “We commonly come in and do onboarding engagements for integrators to make sure that they have what they need to be up and running and successful in a shorter amount of time.” (23:59-24:10 | Jamie)
  • “Looking at the things that only I can do, what are the things that I can delegate? When you can free up that time, it's probably more revenue generating activities that you can then do. You are going to end up more than paying for that person’s seat, because they're freeing you up.” (30:15-30:36 | Jamie)
