We are truly living in a time of experiences, where customer demand and preferences have to be reflected far beyond the point of sale, stretching far into the supply chain. This has driven an innovation boom in the retail industry, as people start to emerge from their homes but don’t want to lose the digital conveniences they have gotten used to over the last couple of years.

Shan Muthuvelu is the CEO of UCBOS, no code supply chain cloud software, and Venkat Gopalan is the Chief Digital Officer at Belcorp, a direct sales beauty company. In order for Belcorp to expand beyond direct sales and put their product in bricks and mortar retail locations, they have to be able to integrate their supply chain data with that of their partners and keep it up to date in real time. They need AI-enabled instant visibility.

In this interview, Shan and Venkat speak with co-hosts Allison Giddens and Scott Luton about:

• The data retailers need to help their businesses react quickly and meet the high expectations of today’s customer

• The power of a ‘DULDM’ – a dynamic unified logical data model – in cases where people in different supply chains want to collaborate or integrate

• How omnichannel fulfillment has to be allowed to change retailers’ business models so that consumers are not negatively impacted
