With the quiet success and profit of the films X (2022) and PEARL (2022), director/screenwriter Ti West is back with his “final” film in the “X Trilogy”.  MAXXXINE (2024) picks up a few years later from the events from X and continues following the story of Maxine Minx, now back in Los Angeles and trying to break into “legit” films.

Maxine (Mia Goth), still dealing with what happened during the filming of her adult film in X (2022), tries out and gets the part for a sequel to the popular mainstream horror movie The Puritan.  But her past seems to follow her as a mysterious video tape appears at her door with unreleased footage from the movie she had filmed back during the Texas massacre.  With some recent murders, the police, her agent, a private investigator, and her friends all get wrapped up into a shocking mystery revolving around Maxine’s past.

Besides Mia Goth, the film stars Kevin Bacon, Michell Monaghan, Elizabeth Debicki, Giancarlo Esposito, among others including Dan Lench.  Dark Discussions talks about the film and is joined by Dan as we discuss the film and talk about the movie and Dan’s experiences in this fabulous production.
