00:51:15 Film Marketing
Misery 1990
Taking place almost in one small set, this film takes tension to almost unbearable levels. The marketing is fascinating too because the studios focused the promotion on the director, novelist and screenplay writer rather than the stars who they considered to be relative unknowns.
Director: Rob Reiner (Spinal Tap 1984, Stand By Me 1986, The Princess Bride 1987)
Writers: Stephen King (novel "Misery"), William Goldman (screenplay)
Stars: James Caan, Kathy Bates, Richard Farnsworth,
Strapline: Paul Sheldon used to write for a living. Now, he's writing to stay alive.
Released on 30 November 1990 in US and 13 February 1991 in France and 10 May 1991 in UK.
