I am happy to reconnect with today’s guest filmmaker Darryl Wharton Rigby after being cast on his music video “Entrepreneur” last year. The conversation flows and I notice his scriptwriting sensibilities come alive as the story unfolds, comprehensive and rich with intricate details. His childhood raised by a single mother, the impressionable years when he wanted to become a doctor, how the library was his “safe place” where he nourished his eager mind, how he took all the film making elective courses at Ithaca College while majoring in history, how booking a single production assistant job led to many more with renowned directors like Penny Marshall, Robert Townsend as well as a TV show “Homicide”, making his first Indie film “Detention”, the next film project “Polaris”, etc. We are keeping this conversation open-ended as I hope there will be more to follow….!!
