Hey, friends. Welcome back to Tip Tuesday, where I give you the skinny on an app or a tool that can be useful for your personal productivity. Now today, let's talk about Squarespace. If you heard my last episode, number 72 with Samantha Mae, she discussed what she uses for most of her clients and building websites, which is Squarespace now from Squarespace website. It says everything to sell anything. Now, basically, what that means is it is an all in one. If you want a website, if you want to start your business, it's a good place to start.

Now, personally, I build all of my websites on WordPress just because I prefer the customization, the ability to add more plugins and third party features. But I do think Squarespace is a good option for you. If you would like to do something right out of the box and pick and choose exactly what you need. So with Squarespace, you can build your website using any one of their templates. They have a ton of beautiful templates that you can use designer fonts and color palettes that fit your style and your professional needs.

Now, with their color palettes, you basically can adjust your palettes and add your business colors and your brand colors within the palette and anything you use on the website. So if you're using like H One is a dark blue. Anytime you put an H One tag on the website, it's going to be a dark blue and it's going to be the font that you chose for that. So that's one way that it keeps your website uniform and it just makes it super easy for you to be consistent all throughout your website.

So if you're going to want to put something up pretty quickly, you don't want to fuss with the customizations and making everything perfect. Squarespace is a good place to start. You can also add their Ecommerce option. If you are planning to do an online store or book services or anything like that where you want to sell products you can sell digital products on. They do have an ecommerce option, so you would add that to your plan in order to use their Ecommerce option. Lastly, you can also add their marketing option where you can add email campaigns into your plan, so you would not need to add an additional email campaign manager like MailChimp or Infusionsoft or Active Campaign.

You could just use Squarespace marketing option for that. Now they have recently added membership sites as well, so you can add another thing onto your plan. If you plan to have a membership site, which will give you a password protected area where people can purchase, or you can just give them the link to log in and create a password for free and then they would have a password protected area that they can access to, access all of their tools and any other assets that you wanted to provide for them.

If you're looking for an all in one solution to starting your business, Squarespace is definitely a great option for you. Their plans start from personal all the way up to their Advanced Commerce plan. Now, if we're looking at the pay annually, the personal plan starts at $12 per month and the Advanced Commerce plan goes all the way up to $40 per month. If you want to do just the pay monthly to test it out, you would start on the $16 per month personal plan. The commerce plan goes up to $54 per month.

Within their four plans, each one gets a few more features added onto it, and you would choose the one based on what you need. Now they do give you a free domain, so that's also another perk of choosing Squarespace. They'll give you a domain if you do not have one somewhere else already and you are also getting their hosting services. So that is one thing that if you do not want to deal with purchasing a domain, purchasing, hosting, connecting it all together, figuring out how to connect your email, set up your Google Suite features.

If you are just getting started and you just want one place to put in everything that you need and then just hit the button and then get ready to go. This is going to be a really great option. It's also a lot less headache for you as well. So if you are not used to the whole website world and connecting your WordPress website to your hosting to your domain and you don't have anyone in your corner or you don't have an assistant or a tech person that's able to do that for you.

It can lead to a lot of confusion and that's when you get stalled in your progress. So if you're thinking that maybe this year you're going to need to create a new website, definitely check out Squarespace. They have some affordable options and plug and play templates, which will make it very easy to get started. So I will drop the link for Squarespace down in the show notes.
