Shownotes

The salient focus of this conversation centers on the profound assertion that we are inherently spiritual beings navigating a human experience, a theme eloquently articulated by our guest, Reverend Stephen Golden. Throughout our dialogue, we delve into the intricate interplay between consciousness and reality, emphasizing the notion that one's thoughts possess the power to shape one's life experiences. Reverend Golden elucidates the concepts presented in his book, "Your True Human Power," which integrates teachings from various world religions alongside New Thought philosophy, positing that the divine essence resides within each individual. We explore the transformative potential of self-love and gratitude, which serve as catalysts for manifesting positive change in one’s life. By shifting our conscious perceptions and embracing our intrinsic connection to the divine, we can co-create a more fulfilling reality, thus actualizing our true human power. The discourse presented in this episode delves into the profound teachings of Reverend Stephen Golden, particularly as articulated in his book, 'Your True Human Power.' Central to the conversation is the assertion that humanity is fundamentally composed of spiritual beings navigating the human experience. The Reverend elucidates the interconnectedness of all individuals with the divine, drawing upon religious teachings, notably the notion that 'the Father and I are one,' as espoused by Jesus. This foundational idea underscores the belief that the essence of divinity resides within each individual, thereby empowering them to co-create their reality through the power of thought and consciousness. Through the lens of New Thought philosophy, the Reverend advocates for a paradigm shift in perception, positing that one's thoughts significantly influence their life experiences. The discussion further explores the implications of this philosophy, touching upon quantum reality and the energetic nature of existence, as highlighted by notable figures such as Wayne Dyer and Albert Einstein. In summary, the episode serves as an exploration of internal spiritual awakening, encouraging listeners to engage in self-reflection and to harness their innate power to manifest positive changes in their lives.

Transcripts

Speaker A:

I'm Anthony Wright and I'm your host today on the Living Conversation with my co host Adam Dietz.

Speaker B:

Welcome.

Speaker A:

And we are here with our, our guest, the Reverend Stephen Golden.

Speaker A:

And Reverend golden, you have written a book that is based in new thought called your true human Power.

Speaker C:

It's actually based in teaching, educating people about the truth of the world religions and then the new thought philosophy.

Speaker C:

And it's not really just the philosophy, it's just a spiritual realm.

Speaker C:

My first chapter, I even talk about that Jesus even said the Father and I are one.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker C:

Kingdom of heaven is within.

Speaker A:

Yep, yep.

Speaker A:

So I, I was interested because I haven't seen your book but I would like to, to take a look at it.

Speaker A:

You reference the quantum as a part of this.

Speaker A:

So can you talk a bit about to introduce our listeners to what your offering is in this book?

Speaker C:

It's about learning how to understand that we are all spiritual beings having a human experience.

Speaker C:

And as I already just said, Jesus said that the Father and I are one.

Speaker C:

We are all one with the divine.

Speaker C:

Your soul is one with the divine.

Speaker C:

And that when you start shifting your conscious mind, you're programming your subconscious mind and you can co create the reality in your life.

Speaker C:

And what it's done for me has just been fantastic.

Speaker C:

My life has changed in such a, a wonderful place of gratitude of everything that's going and happening in my life now.

Speaker C:

And that's what the book is really all about, is to help people understand what you think about is what you bring about.

Speaker C:

And Ernest Holmes on the top of my book, Ernest Holmes says thoughts are things.

Speaker C:

That's one of his famous quotes.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

He created this thing called science of mind religion and prior to that was this Emerson and they were kind of together and they did stuff together and it's just about.

Speaker C:

And then, and then some people called it a new thought philosophy, but it's really just about being, understanding.

Speaker C:

Spirituality is a foundation of, of religions.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

So beyond any affirmation, how does this relate with the, the idea of quantum reality?

Speaker C:

Well, the quantum field is that everything is energy.

Speaker C:

And what I learned when I first saw Wayne Dyer back in the 90s.

Speaker A:

Oh yeah.

Speaker C:

And I go see him and he gets up on the stage and there's over probably a couple hundred people in this event.

Speaker C:

And he said everything is energy.

Speaker C:

And let me tell you about that.

Speaker C:

You take the seed of an apple and you put it under a microscope and you magnify it by 10,000.

Speaker C:

What do you see?

Speaker C:

You see the atoms of the seed.

Speaker C:

And if you magnify that again by another 10,000.

Speaker C:

What do you see?

Speaker C:

You see the quirks and of the atoms that everything is energy.

Speaker C:

Even Einstein talks about the inner the universe is all energy and the energy is the divine source.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker C:

So manifesting that question is about just shifting your conscious mind.

Speaker C:

If you're having fear, doubt, negativity, that's what you're attracting into your life.

Speaker C:

But when you start having self love and you're you love, it's a mirror of love to God and that shifts the vibration and it starts attracting good things into your life from the, from the divine source, the quantum field.

Speaker A:

So Adam, have you, do you have some questions?

Speaker B:

I have a number of questions.

Speaker B:

I'm trying to figure out where to begin.

Speaker B:

I think a lot of this is familiar to our listeners and familiar to themes that we go over on this show often.

Speaker B:

I always love to see the synchronicity between our guests.

Speaker B:

Some of my thoughts are the kingdom of heaven is within is something that I love and I always go back to with Jesus.

Speaker B:

I used to teach world religions in fourth and fifth grade for, for, for a few years and that we keep coming back to that.

Speaker B:

I also think when Jesus says don't pray like the hypocrites out in the streets making a big scene, go go into your own private house, into your bedroom, even into your closet.

Speaker B:

That prayer and spirituality is a very private thing and we often, we often miss that.

Speaker B:

So I think what's all this is all coming into for me is I do maybe want to circle back on how everything is energy.

Speaker B:

I also want to check in about, you know, when you're manifesting careful what you wish for.

Speaker B:

But my biggest.

Speaker B:

Yeah, right.

Speaker B:

But my biggest question is, is, oh, in your work, the, the language of Jesus and God, is there a challenge that that has been so co opted by people who I don't think are very spiritual and, and so often are, you know, trying to sell people something and so often are, you know, not practicing the spirit of Jesus, universal love.

Speaker B:

So when, when you're using the language of Jesus and God, do you come across some resistance for, for people who are, who are, you know, trying to, you know, cultivate their spirituality, examine their own spirituality.

Speaker B:

Do you come across any type of resistance when you're using that language?

Speaker C:

Well, that's a really good question because in my book is also learning because as being a spiritual being in a human experience that there is an inner voice, an inner vision and if you close your eyes, taking a deep breath and in your inner voice you ask questions God will talk to you and people will be amazed because they will hear things, because the divine source, God is talking to you in your inner voice.

Speaker C:

And I tell people to get up in the morning and to sit down, close their eyes, taking a deep breath, blow out like you're blowing out of a straw, and start with, I'm in such a great gratitude in my life.

Speaker C:

And that shifts the day for them.

Speaker C:

And I've had people and I say do that about three to six times and then go do what you do, breakfast, shower, whatever, exercise, whatever.

Speaker C:

You will have your day completely shifted by starting your day that way.

Speaker B:

I love that because that's deeply personal.

Speaker B:

And I think spirituality has to be deeply personal to, to true spirituality.

Speaker B:

Is this the most personal thing in the world?

Speaker B:

So when you're going into your own breath, your own relationship with the, the divine or the universe and then seeing how that changes your, your, your daily experience, I really think that's lovely.

Speaker C:

It is, it's.

Speaker C:

It's just amazing.

Speaker C:

It's shifted mine and it's just been a wonderful thing.

Speaker C:

And this place that I'm at, is that real?

Speaker C:

See that little pyramid right there?

Speaker B:

The mountain?

Speaker C:

That's Mount Everest.

Speaker A:

Oh my.

Speaker A:

This is in for the listeners.

Speaker A:

This is a, a background that Reverend golden has.

Speaker A:

You're not there.

Speaker C:

Right.

Speaker C:

I took this picture.

Speaker C:

I've been there multiple times.

Speaker C:

And the culture in Nepal is really Buddhism and Hinduism, but it's just really spiritual foundation.

Speaker C:

The first time I went there was 13 years ago.

Speaker C:

I was at Kathmandu and this cow was walking down the street and this lady ran out with a big bowl and this cow starts eating.

Speaker C:

I was like, this is so crazy.

Speaker C:

I've never seen it.

Speaker C:

And then I found out from a friend of mine who lives there, and he said, well, you know, cows are sacred animals.

Speaker C:

All species animals are of the divine source as well.

Speaker B:

Yeah, we just, I just came back from a trip to Japan because my son is doing a language program there.

Speaker B:

I dropped him off basically, so to speak.

Speaker B:

But I was very impressed by just the simplicity of Shintoism and, and you know, the practice seemed very straightforward and, and.

Speaker B:

But the point is that everything has a spirit, right?

Speaker B:

And so even the, even the rocks and the streams have the spirit and the forest has its spirit.

Speaker B:

So people, you know, would make kind of a prayer and offering at different shrines to those spirits.

Speaker B:

And you know, I think when we, when we talk about spirits, it can often get really woo woo and like ghosts and stuff like that almost.

Speaker B:

But the fact that when you discussed it before, I Love that crossover between science and spirituality when you're talking about atoms.

Speaker B:

Because if you look at atoms, they're.

Speaker B:

They're mostly void, right?

Speaker B:

And everything in science is mostly void, but then it has all this energy and movement.

Speaker B:

So it's this combination of void and energy.

Speaker B:

So when you think of that, everything has that.

Speaker B:

That's like spirit.

Speaker B:

And so it's scientific.

Speaker B:

It's not like there's these ghosts in rocks.

Speaker B:

It's that rocks.

Speaker B:

Rocks exist.

Speaker B:

They have their own form of the divine.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker C:

And as we already spoke about one thing that I just wanted to really share, because this is extremely important.

Speaker C:

As Jesus said, the Father and I are one.

Speaker C:

This is like the third time I've said that.

Speaker C:

But God is not an external being.

Speaker C:

We are all one with the divine source, God.

Speaker C:

And everything, as you're saying, is energy.

Speaker C:

It's.

Speaker C:

It's the vibration of it.

Speaker A:

The.

Speaker C:

Of why it's hard like the apple seed is.

Speaker C:

Until you magnify it.

Speaker C:

Then you see the energy of it.

Speaker A:

You know, I really.

Speaker A:

There's goodness on.

Speaker A:

We're in.

Speaker A:

I'm in Sonoma County.

Speaker A:

Well, we're both in Sonoma county, and there's a astrologer who comes on KPFA out of Berkeley, and she was discussing animism or panpsychism and talking about it as a belief.

Speaker A:

And I really liked what she said.

Speaker A:

Well, it's more than a belief.

Speaker A:

It's just good manners.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

And it's really.

Speaker C:

It's about thoughts and feeling, feeling of.

Speaker A:

Reverence and which comes first, a thought or a feeling.

Speaker C:

The thoughts create the feelings.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker C:

So if you're having negative thoughts, that's what you're vibrating out of your body, and that's what you attract from the laws of attraction, which is.

Speaker C:

But when you start going, I'm in perfect health.

Speaker C:

Your body is already vibrating into a better thing.

Speaker C:

I love me.

Speaker C:

I love me.

Speaker C:

And you will feel the vibration shift in your body.

Speaker C:

And then you're attracting fantastic love of things because God is love.

Speaker B:

It's like you're noticing.

Speaker B:

Noticing that you already have this health and you already have this love in you.

Speaker B:

So when you.

Speaker B:

When you change your.

Speaker B:

Your mindset and.

Speaker B:

And say that or think that, then you're.

Speaker B:

You're noticing it instead of ignoring it.

Speaker B:

Is that part of.

Speaker B:

Part of it?

Speaker B:

And how to describe it?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Did you guys feel that when I say I love me?

Speaker C:

Yeah, you try.

Speaker C:

You try it.

Speaker C:

I love me.

Speaker C:

Feel it.

Speaker C:

And you will feel the energy shift.

Speaker A:

Okay, well, we have to shift the energy right now.

Speaker A:

We're coming up on a on a break.

Speaker A:

I'm Anthony Wright and I am your co host today on the Living Conversation with Adam Dietz.

Speaker B:

Welcome to the conversation and we're here.

Speaker A:

With our guest Reverend Stephen Golden.

Speaker A:

And you have written a book called your human.

Speaker C:

Your human power, your true human power.

Speaker A:

And what's the subtitle, Master?

Speaker C:

The Golden Zone there.

Speaker C:

It's right here, Master Golden Zone.

Speaker C:

How to access the infinite possibility of the divine source within you.

Speaker C:

And I have a nice website set up.

Speaker C:

There's a little bit of information about the book www.

Speaker C:

My Human power dot com.

Speaker A:

Okay, great.

Speaker A:

All right, we'll take a short break and be right back.

Speaker A:

So stay tuned.

Speaker C:

Okay.

Speaker A:

I'm Anthony Wright and I'm your co host today on the Living Conversation with Adam Dees.

Speaker A:

And we are here with our guest Reverend Stephen Golden.

Speaker A:

And before the break, Reverend golden, we were talking about the idea about how thoughts create reality.

Speaker A:

And that's really what it seems that your whole book and what, what the science of mind and what new thought is all about.

Speaker A:

And do you offer readers of your book exercises?

Speaker C:

Oh yeah.

Speaker A:

To get involved with.

Speaker A:

With this.

Speaker A:

So I would say it's like a recalibration of our awareness, is that right?

Speaker C:

Well, just some of the chapters that are extremely powerful.

Speaker C:

The first one is talking about the foundation of world religions, new the quantum field and new thought philosophy.

Speaker C:

And then there's a chapter about the coherence of your mind to your heart.

Speaker C:

Having positive thoughts, love, joy, happiness.

Speaker C:

The coherence is happening and that shifts the vibration.

Speaker C:

And then the, as we spoke in the previous session is about having conversations with God in your inner hearing, in your inner vision, that third eye.

Speaker C:

And then just understanding that self love is such a powerful thing that shifts your vibration of your body.

Speaker C:

And when you have self love, you attract love, kindness, caring, compassion into your life.

Speaker B:

Would you say that, that that's our natural state?

Speaker C:

Well, people don't understand the.

Speaker C:

The human conscious mind is programming the subconscious mind, which is like the supercomputer of your body.

Speaker C:

But when your conscious mind is in a high state of gratitude, love, joy, happiness, that's programming your subconscious mind that is infecting the cells.

Speaker C:

And it's also self healing.

Speaker C:

Something really interesting.

Speaker C:

I met Luis Hayes.

Speaker C:

She wrote a book called Self Healing.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker C:

And at the bottom of her book it says 50 million copies sold.

Speaker C:

I met her in:

Speaker C:

In her tummy.

Speaker C:

And she said, hey Steve, do this tap your Tummy, I'm in perfect health.

Speaker C:

I'm in perfect health.

Speaker C:

She was fine.

Speaker C:

And then I've done that with some family relationships, my uncles, my mother and really has shifted their lives into good health now.

Speaker B:

Okay, real quick though.

Speaker B:

Two things are coming up for me that I want to make sure we address for our listeners.

Speaker B:

One is what do we do when we are having negative emotions in know, anger, sadness.

Speaker B:

And we're, we're, we're wanting to be spiritual, we're wanting to feel love, we're wanting to feel gratitude, and we're having negative emotions that come up.

Speaker B:

And, and two, I think that, you know, we want to be careful to make sure people know that, that God also gave us doctors.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker B:

So, so if we have a problem, we, it's okay to go see a doctor.

Speaker C:

Right.

Speaker B:

Like they, they, they're specialists.

Speaker B:

They know what they're doing nine times out of 10.

Speaker B:

So I just want to make sure that we know that and we mentioned that.

Speaker B:

So could you say something about, like, when we do get out of whack, when we do have negativity, when we are out of health, I feel like maybe sometimes people say I should be so spiritual and they want to beat themselves up over it.

Speaker B:

I should be happy, I should be gratitude, I should have love.

Speaker B:

Can you say something about how just to process anything that's negative or unhealthy coming up for you?

Speaker C:

And I've, I've educated some people about that and I tell them it's a good time for you to do some meditation.

Speaker C:

And that's when you sit down, you close your eyes, you're taking a deep breath, blow out like you're blowing out of a straw and start having the inner voice asking questions.

Speaker C:

And you start saying to yourself, I love me, I love my life.

Speaker C:

I'm in perfect health.

Speaker C:

With your eyes closed and you're saying that and you will hear God talking to you and that is shifting the reality in your human body.

Speaker C:

Sorry.

Speaker C:

That will eradicate the negativity.

Speaker A:

Great.

Speaker B:

That's wonderful.

Speaker B:

Yeah, I totally can vibe off of that.

Speaker B:

And I think that's a great piece of advice for our listeners.

Speaker B:

If you get re.

Speaker B:

Centered, then a lot of stuff can just kind of fall away and you can have this good feeling again.

Speaker B:

A couple times you've mentioned that God, God talks to you, or God can talk to people, or we can get in touch with a conversation with God within ourselves in traditions that we've studied and in conversations with other guests.

Speaker B:

Often comes up that God or spirituality or Buddha nature is beyond words.

Speaker B:

So is there an aspect of this conversation that is more of a feeling that's, that's beyond words as well?

Speaker C:

Well, it's just understanding that all of that is not an external thing.

Speaker C:

Being one with the Divine Source, when you close your eyes and you're quiet and you're radiating within your internal hearing and your internal voice and your internal vision, that will shift everything in the life.

Speaker C:

And my book has a lot of chapters about things to do remember, and it's about the meditation.

Speaker C:

It's about self love, it's about being.

Speaker C:

Getting yourself into a high state of gratitude because that shifts everything in you.

Speaker B:

When you said radiating, that really made a lot of sense.

Speaker B:

Radiating within.

Speaker A:

Right, right, yeah.

Speaker A:

So do you have specific techniques in the book?

Speaker A:

I mean, certainly you've mentioned a bit about like blowing out of the mouth, like you're blowing out of a straw.

Speaker A:

But are there other, like, particular practices that you, you suggest?

Speaker C:

Well, there are some things, like the gratitude.

Speaker A:

Uhhuh.

Speaker C:

And here's something that I learned, was that when you're a child, until when you're born, until about the age of seven, what you're told about your parents, your grandparents, your great grandparents, that programs your subconscious mind if they had heart problems or cancer or that kind of stuff, and that is something that can be reprogrammed in your subconscious mind by thinking it in your conscious mind that you're in perfect health.

Speaker C:

There is no cancer.

Speaker C:

It's gone.

Speaker C:

And multiple chapters go through different things about learning that God is not the external being, that we are all one with the divine source in the meditation process, doing manifestations and affirmations.

Speaker C:

Affirmations to create those manifestations.

Speaker C:

And Ernest Holmes Emmett Fox had.

Speaker C:

land and came in in the early:

Speaker C:

And he was part of the New Thought philosophy.

Speaker C:

And he talked about saying that if you constantly are talking to the Divine source, he called it God.

Speaker C:

God is the infinite power and presence everywhere, knows everything.

Speaker C:

There's no other power.

Speaker C:

But we are all children of God, filled and surrounded by the perfect peace and love of God.

Speaker A:

So I'm, I'm also wondering what the New Thought has to say about people who sort of take on to themselves thinking they're somehow better than other people because they're in touch with God and these folks are not.

Speaker A:

Or, or does.

Speaker A:

What does New Thought have to say about that?

Speaker C:

Well, New Thought philosophy is just really a spiritual aspect.

Speaker C:

And they called it that instead of calling it a religion.

Speaker A:

Okay, Not a religion.

Speaker C:

When.

Speaker C:

And this is an Interesting thing.

Speaker C:

When I was born and as I was raised, I was taken to Southern Baptist.

Speaker C:

And when I was a teenager, my family stopped going.

Speaker C:

And later in life, I found out why they stopped taking me and they stopped going.

Speaker C:

And my father said to me, that preacher became so judgmental of things and people in there, and it also became very political.

Speaker C:

That's why they stopped going.

Speaker C:

Now, Christianity has a good foundation, but there's also things in the Christian Bible that King James and the Roman Empire created.

Speaker C:

There are some stuff in there that I learned when I got my ministerial license that it's not truthful.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker A:

So how do you.

Speaker C:

I do like the part in the Bible about Jesus on water.

Speaker C:

He could.

Speaker C:

He could make the blind people see.

Speaker C:

He can make the crippled people walk.

Speaker C:

He brought Lazarus back from dying because he knew and he said he was the father of here.

Speaker C:

He was the Son of God, while we are all children of God.

Speaker A:

Well, I think that's actually the gospel.

Speaker A:

That's the good news, isn't it?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So you were about to ask a question, Adam.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

You're touching on it, Steve.

Speaker B:

I always love to get a sense of the guest spiritual path because I think there's, you know, yes, we want to be beyond ego as, you know, spiritual practitioners, but.

Speaker B:

But there's these certain turning points that I think can be very instructive when we're hearing about different people's path.

Speaker B:

Some things that have come up for guests before was there.

Speaker B:

There sometimes is like a breaking point where you realize this is not working for me anymore and you turn towards a different orientation or a new interest.

Speaker B:

Could you say something about your spiritual path as, you know, transformed out of childhood into adulthood?

Speaker C:

Yeah, I'll just share that.

Speaker C:

I was in the Southern Baptist, as I said, and then I dated this girl, she was Catholic, and I would go to mass with her and I said, why do they do that?

Speaker C:

Why do they.

Speaker C:

Why does he say something?

Speaker C:

Everybody says something, and why do they drop on their knees and get back up?

Speaker C:

And it wasn't really that good.

Speaker C:

We went and met with him and I said, why do you do that?

Speaker C:

He says, that's just our.

Speaker C:

Our cultural stuff that we do.

Speaker C:

And then later on in life, as I started getting.

Speaker C:

After I saw Wayne Dyer, and then I started getting into the Emerson Theological, but I was also in Ernest Holmes Institute, and Ernest Holmes is created the Science of Mind Religion.

Speaker B:

So you always had.

Speaker B:

You always had sense that.

Speaker B:

Go ahead, sir.

Speaker C:

It's really about the power of your mind, because the power and the presence is within but when you start thinking properly, that will shift your life.

Speaker B:

So you always had a sense of, of wanting a deep relationship with God, so to speak, from, from early childhood.

Speaker B:

And then, and then you made it a point to study different paths that you felt like Maybe in the 1:1, a path with heart, right?

Speaker C:

Well, yeah.

Speaker C:

And then what you said is some people would think that, that God is an external being.

Speaker C:

And I already said God is not an external being.

Speaker C:

We are all spiritual beings having a human experience.

Speaker C:

We are one with God and that understanding that.

Speaker C:

And that's what's really interesting in my book about talking about the whole process of what happened for me, the things that I learned from, from Ernest Holmes, from Emmet Fox, from Emerson Theological, from Neville Goddard, from, from Wayne Dyer and Bob Proctor.

Speaker C:

Bob Proctor was just about, he wasn't really, it wasn't really considered a spiritual realm, but he was just talking about the power of your mind.

Speaker C:

And when you're thinking is what shifts in your subconscious and that's what creates the vibration.

Speaker A:

Now we have to take a short break.

Speaker A:

I'm Anthony Wright and I am your co host today on the Living Conversation with Adam De.

Speaker A:

And we're here with our guest, Reverend Steve Golden.

Speaker A:

And Reverend golden, you have written a book called your True Human Power.

Speaker A:

And how can people contact you?

Speaker C:

True Human power?

Speaker C:

Go to www.myhuman power.com online.

Speaker C:

They will see some stuff about the book.

Speaker C:

They will see some little bio about me.

Speaker C:

And I also created a playbook, which is 10 powerful plays for people to do, and that will help them.

Speaker A:

Excellent.

Speaker A:

All right, we'll take a short break and be right back.

Speaker A:

So stay tuned.

Speaker C:

Okie doie.
