Speaker A:All right, let's dive in.
Speaker A:I remember when I was working on finding my purpose and I was tired, exhausted, overwhelmed with my daughter, my newborn son and my Yorkie, not to mention all the other household responsibilities along with breastfeeding him.
Speaker A:And if you've breastfed A child.
Speaker A:You know how demanding and exhausting and tiring that can be and how much it takes out of your body.
Speaker A:Between the kids, your house, the husband, there's just no room left for you.
Speaker A:You tell yourself that you wait until things slow down.
Speaker A:You might find yourself saying, I barely have time to shower, let alone think about my purpose.
Speaker A:I get it with two under two.
Speaker A:When working on following my purpose.
Speaker A:It felt like I could barely take my shower before someone was crying or calling for me.
Speaker A:And I was frustrated.
Speaker A:Tell myself as I was drying off after my shower.
Speaker A:Shower.
Speaker A:I barely have time for myself.
Speaker A:This is crazy.
Speaker A:So here's the truth.
Speaker A:You can't afford to wait until life slows down to follow your purpose.
Speaker A:Let's call this for what it is.
Speaker A:It's an excuse.
Speaker A:And I'm not saying that to shame you.
Speaker A:I'm saying it because I've been there.
Speaker A:You'll stay stuck, and you will not move forward if you keep telling yourself this excuse.
Speaker A:There's this inner voice that keeps trying to keep you from moving forward.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:And this inner voice can be Satan.
Speaker A:And first Peter 5:8 says, Be sober.
Speaker A:Be watchful.
Speaker A:Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour.
Speaker A:So what happens is he keeps planting the thought into your mind until it finally becomes a belief and you start believing it.
Speaker A:Then you tell yourself it's the truth.
Speaker A:Well, this is true.
Speaker A:I'm too tired.
Speaker A:I'm too exhausted.
Speaker A:I don't have time for this.
Speaker A:So then you fall into that trap and you don't actually move forward.
Speaker A:So we need to be careful and watchful of what we allow into our minds and the voices that are in our minds.
Speaker A:And we must be guardians of our minds.
Speaker A:Because you'll keep talking yourself out of it, because you'll find it true.
Speaker A:I can't work on my discern my purpose.
Speaker A:I'm too busy.
Speaker A:I'm too exhausted.
Speaker A:And if he can keep you distracted, if he can keep you busy and keep telling yourself and keep believing it that that's the truth, then he can keep you from growing closer to God and living out your purpose, which is the opposite of what we want.
Speaker A:We want to grow closer to God, and we want to live out our purpose.
Speaker A:So here's something you can ask yourself.
Speaker A:What's really behind this resistance?
Speaker A:What's the root of it and why?
Speaker A:It's because we need to pull back the layer of the onion to get down to the underlining thought.
Speaker A:The root of this?
Speaker A:Is it because you're afraid to Move forward.
Speaker A:Are you using the excuse, I'll wait until life slows down?
Speaker A:Or maybe it's, you're afraid because it won't be easy.
Speaker A:Maybe you're afraid of stepping out of your comfort zone.
Speaker A:Or maybe afraid you'll get it wrong.
Speaker A:And I get it.
Speaker A:I recently was finding myself having resistance for moving forward in the next step that God was telling me to do.
Speaker A:And what I did is I paused.
Speaker A:I was like, wait a minute, what's this voice saying in my brain?
Speaker A:Where's this coming from?
Speaker A:So I paused and I reflected and I asked myself, why am I having this resistance?
Speaker A:And for me, when I was reflecting and looking back, I realized I was dragging my feet because the next step that God was calling me to, it wasn't fun, it was stretching me.
Speaker A:And growth will always do that to you.
Speaker A:It will always pull you out of what feels safe, what pulls you out of your comfort zone, because God wants you to grow.
Speaker A:After all, when you grow, this is how you become who God created you to be.
Speaker A:Part of that is living out your unique purpose that God created you for.
Speaker A:I bet you didn't think about that perspective.
Speaker A:Another point that I want to make is that life is busy and it's chaotic.
Speaker A:Especially in motherhood.
Speaker A:There's always going to be something.
Speaker A:School schedules, sicknesses, activities, the never ending laundry.
Speaker A:I feel like I'm always doing laundry.
Speaker A:I may get one day off and then it's back to laundry.
Speaker A:When my mom was visiting one time, she said, you're always doing laundry.
Speaker A:That I feel is true.
Speaker A:Like, I just feel like I'm always doing laundry.
Speaker A:And then I sat back and reflected, like, oh, I guess I get one day off.
Speaker A:You may feel the same way too, with that endless pit of laundry.
Speaker A:Like, when's this bottomless pit gonna end?
Speaker A:So if you're waiting for a calm season, you're going to be waiting for the rest of your life.
Speaker A:And I know it's easier to say I'm too busy than to do something uncomfortable, something that's gonna stretch you, put you out of your comfort zone, then moving forward.
Speaker A:Because easy doesn't move you forward.
Speaker A:I'm sorry.
Speaker A:We will keep telling ourselves this lie and will never follow through on our purpose.
Speaker A:And I don't want that for you because it's easier to use an excuse than to push through.
Speaker A:It's our belief system that we tell ourselves.
Speaker A:And this is why working on our mindset and having a mindset routine in place to help us push through this resistance is very important.
Speaker A:And the good news Is there is a way to replace the lies with God's truth and become who God created us to be.
Speaker A:And we can quiet and silence that inner voice of Satan.
Speaker A:We can easily plant the seed of truth, God's truth, into our mind.
Speaker A:And yes, we will find challenges along the journey.
Speaker A:As you know, right now, there's some resistance.
Speaker A:There's some challenges along your journey through motherhood and trying to find out and discover your purpose so that you can live it out.
Speaker A:That is why a solid mindset routine, a process is important to have one that helps anchor you on your goal, which is your purpose, and one that helps find the resistance that'll show up for you on your journey, because it's going to happen.
Speaker A:This is why the mindset work matters.
Speaker A:We need a daily routine that replaces the enemy's lies with God's truth.
Speaker A:We need to quiet and silence that noise of Satan and tell him to get away, because I am a daughter of God who loves me and is of truth and wants nothing but the best for me.
Speaker A:So guard your mind, be intentional about what you let in, and ask yourself, does this line up with what God says about me?
Speaker A:If not, toss it out.
Speaker A:Rewrite that belief with the true truth and it can be done.
Speaker A:And another reason why I want to remind you that we cannot wait until life slows you down to follow your purposes.
Speaker A:Life is short.
Speaker A:We read about people passing away unexpectedly all the time through illnesses or accidents, and we just don't know how much time we have here on earth before we pass over to our final eternal resting place.
Speaker A:I don't want to stand before Jesus one day and say, I knew you gave me talents and gifts for a mission that only I could do, but I was too busy.
Speaker A:I'm sorry, I was too busy.
Speaker A:I remember a priest saying this one time to the effect of saying that Jesus tells a person, you know, when they pass over, they're standing there, they're meeting Jesus for the first time, and he stands there and he tells them, you were too busy for me, so I'm too busy for you.
Speaker A:Now, that really struck home with me because it's so true.
Speaker A:Are you too busy to make time for Jesus?
Speaker A:That goes for anything, like with your spending time in prayer, spending time in scripture, any of that kind of stuff.
Speaker A:And are you also too busy to make time for Jesus by glorifying him and his kingdom and serving others by finding your purpose and living out your purpose for him that you were created for?
Speaker A:That's what you were uniquely created for.
Speaker A:And you're not going to figure out your purpose overnight.
Speaker A:It's a process.
Speaker A:So anyone that tells you that it's a quick here's your purpose.
Speaker A:You're going to find it out in a day or two.
Speaker A:They're misguiding you, so just be mindful.
Speaker A:There are steps that you take and you walk with them with God, letting Him reveal the next piece as you go.
Speaker A:But you can't discern while standing still.
Speaker A:Action is part of the discernment and the journey starts now, not someday.
Speaker A:I know we covered a lot today.
Speaker A:From the lies that God keeps us stuck in, to the real reason that we resist, to the truth that life will never really slow down for us.
Speaker A:So just to recap, here's a quick summary of what we talked about.
Speaker A:Life won't slow down the season you're in right now, even if it's messy and exhausting.
Speaker A:It's the very season God can work through to lead you towards your purpose.
Speaker A:The enemy.
Speaker A:He wants to distract you.
Speaker A:If he can keep you busy and believing later is the answer, he can keep you from growing closer to God and living out your mission.
Speaker A:And we don't want that.
Speaker A:Resistance is normal, but it's not the boss.
Speaker A:Name the lie, replace them with God's truth and take one small, faithful step forward.
Speaker A:Your purpose is worth fighting for now.
Speaker A:You don't need perfect timing or a big plan, just a willing heart to to start today.
Speaker A:And if you're ready to follow your purpose, I invite you to grab one of my free one on one coaching sessions this month that I'm offering to five incredible souls for a limited time to get started today in celebration of the 1k downloads of this podcast.

Speaker A:Remind us of your truth that you are always with us and to not be afraid.
Speaker A:You will help us to move forward.

Speaker A:Help us to hear the Father's voice and for Jesus to guide us.
Speaker A:We need you Holy Spirit, to help us to hear them.

Speaker A:Amen.
Speaker A:Now I don't want this to be something you hear and you're nodding along.
