In Part 2, I share:

  • Your assignment requires spiritual warfare—but God’s Word and grace equip you to stand
  • When you’re walking in alignment and assignment, you don’t fight like the world fights. You fight with the Word, worship, wisdom, and by allowing your community to support you

Speaker A:

Hello and welcome back to the Transformational Teacher Podcast.

Speaker B:

I am your host Toya and thank.

Speaker A:

You again for being here.

Speaker A:

We are on part two of our week five episode of Grace for your assignment, standing firm in your calling.

Speaker A:

If you missed part one, make sure you head over and listen to that one where we talked about how God aligns our steps, fulfills his promises and positions us for our assignment, often in ways we don't expect.

Speaker A:

In this part, part two, we are diving into spiritual warfare and what comes when we're walking in alignment and how to stand firm with grace, in authority and confidence in who God has called you to be.

Speaker A:

So here's what I have learned throughout the years.

Speaker A:

The enemy.

Speaker A:

He doesn't just come to discourage you.

Speaker A:

He comes to disconnect you from your assignment.

Speaker A:

He's actually trying to disconnect you from from those God ordained people that he's placed in your life.

Speaker A:

The enemy may war, but here is the thing.

Speaker A:

He has no real power when you stand in your God given authority.

Speaker A:

John:

Speaker A:

But I came that they may have life and have it in abundance.

Speaker A:

The enemy wants to take you out before you take root.

Speaker A:

But here's the thing.

Speaker A:

Being planted in God and planted in the right ministry and surrounded by community is simple, so vital.

Speaker A:

There were seasons.

Speaker A:

I wouldn't have made it if I didn't have the prayers of my great grandmother, the encouragement of those close to me who saw greatness in me before I did.

Speaker A:

Which a big part of that comes from my family, the covering of my church family and the school community that God gave me.

Speaker A:

Even when I couldn't pray for myself, someone was always praying for me.

Speaker A:

And I am so thankful for that.

Speaker A:

And in:

Speaker A:

One parent who stayed in denial most of the year.

Speaker A:

I was like, what is happening?

Speaker A:

You have to see this because I'm seeing it every day.

Speaker A:

I poured everything in to this season trying to help, but I felt like I was failing everyone and especially the rest of my classroom.

Speaker A:

The stress followed me home.

Speaker A:

I cried often.

Speaker A:

I felt alone.

Speaker A:

I even began to question, am I really called to teach at all?

Speaker A:

But here's the thing.

Speaker A:

Glory to God.

Speaker A:

Things shifted that year for me.

Speaker A:

I laid my pride down and I asked for help for my spiritual leaders, my principal, my colleagues and I sought out workshops to help me grow that dealt with the things that I was seeing inside the classroom.

Speaker A:

I. I did practical things, but I also learned to lean into those spiritual things.

Speaker A:

I stopped separating the natural from the spiritual and I began inviting God into my classroom.

Speaker A:

I started to see what my pastor.

Speaker B:

And first lady and a few other.

Speaker A:

Church members had been telling me all along, that I have to see this as a spiritual battle, not just see it from the natural aspect of it.

Speaker B:

I had to walk in the authority God has given me, even in the classroom.

Speaker A:

From a spiritual perspective, I realized that teaching in faith, they were never meant to be separated.

Speaker B:

Yes, I teach in a public school.

Speaker A:

Setting, but I can still prepare myself spiritually behind the scenes.

Speaker A:

And I can model Jesus character inside of my classroom to my students, to my co workers.

Speaker B:

I can incorporate kingdom principles without ever saying his name in my classroom.

Speaker B:

So, so I started praying.

Speaker B:

I started anointing the chairs and spaces in my classroom.

Speaker B:

I started posting up stickies on my desk to keep me encouraged.

Speaker B:

I had scripture promises that I could stand on.

Speaker B:

One that I can remember that I used to say, and I still say, I am quick to hear, slow to.

Speaker A:

Speak, and slow to anger.

Speaker B:

So whenever those challenging times come up, I'm anchored in the word.

Speaker B:

I started to seek out wisdom.

Speaker B:

I surrendered my control and I gave it to God.

Speaker B:

I allow him to have his way.

Speaker B:

And, and guess what?

Speaker B:

That year I saw that teaching was not just a job, it was a part of my ministry.

Speaker B:

Yes, it was messy yet sometimes, but it's the assignment God has given to me.

Speaker B:

And just as Jesus and so many others fulfilled their assignment, I have to fulfill my assignment.

Speaker B:

Just like you have to fulfill the assignment God has given to you.

Speaker B:

Even when it gets challenging, we have to fulfill the assignment.

Speaker A:

And, and here's the thing.

Speaker B:

Right when I felt the most unseen, right when I wanted to give it all up, guess what?

Speaker B:

I received teacher of the year for my school that year.

Speaker B:

It was a reminder for me.

Speaker B:

It was God saying, I see you, my daughter.

Speaker A:

You are called for this.

Speaker B:

This is your assignment.

Speaker A:

Do not give up.

Speaker B:

Go forth in that classroom and be.

Speaker A:

The change agent I've called you to be.

Speaker B:

That year changed me.

Speaker B:

It taught me to fight in the spirit, lead with hum and embrace my classroom as kingdom ground.

Speaker B:

I had to take territory.

Speaker B:

I had to stop allowing the enemy to beat me on top of the head.

Speaker B:

I had to show the enemy who has authority.

Speaker B:

I had to start taking the putting light inside that darkness, the darkness that I was experiencing.

Speaker B:

And here's the thing.

Speaker B:

When you're walking in alignment and in your assignment, you don't fight like the world fights.

Speaker B:

You fight with the word of God.

Speaker B:

You fight with worship, with wisdom and by embracing the community God has given you to help you along the journey.

Speaker B:

You are never alone cuz God is always right there with you and he connects us to people.

Speaker B:

Maybe those people in the workplace with you, maybe they're in your church.

Speaker B:

I guarantee you they're in your church.

Speaker B:

So I guarantee if you're not connected to a local ministry, now is the time.

Speaker B:

And then I'm reminded of 1st Peter 5 verses 8, 9.

Speaker B:

It says be alert and sober minded.

Speaker B:

Your enemy, the devil, he prowls around like a warring lion looking for someone to devour.

Speaker B:

Resist him standing firm in the faith because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of suffering.

Speaker B:

We are not alone.

Speaker B:

We are not defeated.

Speaker B:

We have authority.

Speaker B:

We have Kingdom authority.

Speaker B:

As believers, we have God's grace and we carry purpose.

Speaker B:

We carry a purpose that the enemy or no one else can counsel it.

Speaker B:

They cannot take it from us unless we give them the opportunity by not doing what God instructs us to do.

Speaker B:

So close those doors.

Speaker B:

Do not allow the enemy to take what God has given to you.

Speaker B:

Do not allow the enemy to cause you to walk away from your assignment.

Speaker B:

I encourage you today.

Speaker B:

Roll up your sleeves.

Speaker B:

Do what God says to do every.

Speaker A:

Step of the way.

Speaker B:

Maybe you're walking through warfare right now.

Speaker B:

Maybe in your classroom you're calling your current season your job.

Speaker B:

It feels like a battlefield.

Speaker B:

You're not crazy.

Speaker B:

You're not weak.

Speaker B:

You're not behind.

Speaker B:

You're becoming.

Speaker B:

When you are a believer and when you have the Holy Spirit on the inside of you, guess what?

Speaker B:

You have power.

Speaker B:

You have to walk in the power.

Speaker B:

Walk in the authority that God has given to you.

Speaker A:

You.

Speaker B:

You are created for such a time as this to go forth and do what God has called you to do.

Speaker B:

God has already gone ahead of you.

Speaker B:

His grace is right there with you.

Speaker B:

He has given you the Word of God.

Speaker B:

He has given you the GPS to life.

Speaker B:

He has given you what you need.

Speaker B:

You have to open up the Word of God and receive his wisdom.

Speaker B:

Allow him to guide and direct you along the right pathway.

Speaker B:

Trust in Him.

Speaker B:

Lean into his understanding.

Speaker B:

Don't try to work it out in your own strength.

Speaker B:

Allow him to strengthen you for this journey.

Speaker B:

I encourage you to do this.

Speaker B:

Take a moment today to breathe.

Speaker B:

God's grace isn't just carrying you.

Speaker B:

It's equipping you for what's next.

Speaker B:

Psalms:

Speaker B:

It says the steps of a good and righteous man are directed and established by the Lord.

Speaker B:

And he delights in his way and blesses his path.

Speaker B:

So allow God to direct your steps.

Speaker B:

Allow God to guide you along the best pathway.

Speaker B:

Allow him to remove those obstacles out of your way.

Speaker B:

Again, stay along the path that God has you on the assignment he has for you to fulfill.

Speaker B:

He will give you the strength.

Speaker B:

He will equip you to fulfill it.

Speaker B:

You are not alone.

Speaker B:

And as you reflect this week, remember your steps are ordered by God.

Speaker B:

Make sure you grab your companion journal.

Speaker B:

One of the reflection questions is where do I need to reclaim authority and walk boldly in my assignment?

Speaker A:

You.

Speaker B:

You can head to thetransformationalteacher.com to download your companion journal or you can find it in the show notes.

Speaker B:

Well, let's close out in prayer.

Speaker B:

Well, Heavenly Father, we thank you right now.

Speaker B:

We thank you Lord just for who you are.

Speaker B:

I thank you for each individual that's listening to this episode.

Speaker B:

I pray Lord God that they see who they are in you.

Speaker B:

They see that they are somebody mighty in God and they see that with God all things are possible.

Speaker B:

I pray that they allow God to strengthen them for this season that they are in that they will turn to God.

Speaker B:

They will allow the whole Holy Spirit that's within them to guide and direct their footsteps.

Speaker B:

They will allow the Holy Spirit to be their comforter, to be their strengthener, to be their advocate, to be whatever it is that they need.

Speaker B:

So I thank you Lord God, they stand firm in the faith, Lord God.

Speaker B:

I thank you Lord God that they are alert, they are sober minded because the enemy he's looking to see whom he will devour.

Speaker B:

But he will not be able to devour them.

Speaker B:

He will not be able to touch them because they're resisting the enemy.

Speaker B:

They're standing firm in their faith.

Speaker B:

And I thank you Lord God that they're staying connected, Lord God to you.

Speaker B:

They're staying connected to ministry you call forth for them to be a part of.

Speaker B:

And if they have not found that ministry, Lord God that you call forth for them to be in open up their eyes, Lord God, to see where it is that you have for for them to be planted at, Lord.

Speaker B:

And I thank you Lord God that they allow your word to become alive to them, Lord.

Speaker B:

And we thank you Father for your goodness.

Speaker B:

We thank you for your love, Lord.

Speaker B:

If there's anything that we have not prayed, I ask that you intercede on the behalf.

Speaker B:

And I give you glory and I give you honor.

Speaker B:

In Jesus name I pray.

Speaker B:

Amen.
