Transcripts

Kristine Goad:

Your travels have brought you to the Surfing Your Edge podcast, where you'll surf your edge all the way to the bigger, bolder, badass life you know you were born for. To be clear, we are not here talking about how to create a life that only looks good on paper or one where you're constantly comparing yourself to everyone else. We aren't here to fix you, and we don't want to keep you chugging along on a perpetual self-improvement hamster wheel. But if you can feel that there is more joy, more peace, curiosity, and wonder for you to explore, or if there's a bigger contribution you know you want to make, and you're ready to stop getting in your own way, then this is a conversation for you. Hi, I'm Kristine Goad. I'm the Surfing Your Edge coach, and I've spent most of my life trying to understand where I fit, what I'm here to do and how to become more fully myself without forcing my life into someone else's definition of success. Along the way, I participated in a

cross-country bicycle trip. I left work that no longer fit me. I wrote a memoir. I built a coaching business, and I started learning to surf in my late 40s to confront my own terror of open water. On top of that, I've spent more than 20 years helping people move through their own fear, self-doubt, perfectionism, and uncertainty toward lives that feel more like their own. What I've learned is that your edge is not something you get to conquer once and leave behind. It keeps changing as you change, and we're living in a time when so much feels unsettled. The understandable impulse is to hunker down, play it safe, and wait for things to return to normal, or at least try to wait it out and see how everything shakes out. But I believe this is exactly the time to live more fully, to use your talents, your curiosity, skills, and the resources you have to tend to your own happiness and contribute what only you can to the world around you. Surfing your edge means learning how to meet fear

Kristine Goad:

without letting it run your life, it means experimenting instead of waiting until you feel completely ready. It means staying open to complexity and surprise and wonder and the possibility that your life can still become something you cannot yet fully imagine. I started this podcast because I want to explore those questions out loud with coaches, creatives, adventurers, thinkers, movement makers, and people who are living their way into something new. You'll hear personal stories, honest conversations, practical experiments, and ideas you can take into your real life. You don't need to listen to the episodes in order. You don't need to do everything we talk about. Just bring your curiosity, notice what resonates, try what intrigues you, let the rest go. Ready? Come surf your edge with me.
