Shownotes

Brother Paul-Vincent Niebauer was a terrible student. So terrible that life as a circus ring-master - a profession he had earlier professed a desire to pursue - was the clear choice over studying to be a pastor.

Paul-Vincent "hosted" over 6500 circus shows in his career. The secret to keeping it fresh for him? Imagine you're in the audience watching it for the first time. Put yourself in the shoes of your audience, and it's impossible for any message you're delivering to be boring.

After his circus career was over, Paul-Vincent chose to reside at St. John's Benedictine monastery in St. Cloud, MN - where he resides and serves the Lord to this day.

Circus ring master. Benedictine monk.

Sounds like they're worlds apart. But when your focus is on God, you realize how small and similar these worlds really are.

In this episode, you'll discover:

-The road to service to God and the circus...04:32

-Why the circus was the clear choice over the ministry...13:30

-The secret to sharing a message (or show) 6500 times as though it's the first time..18:16

-The contrast between life as a ring master and a Benedictine monk...25:07

-How life in a monastery promotes unity, conflict resolution among your brothers...28:45

-Why the monastery is NOT the only way to find God or inner peace...33:00

-The one thing about monastery life Brother Paul-Vincent wishes everyone could experience...35:57

-This life isn't the whole show; it's just the intermission...40:44

-And much more...
